Kaizer Chiefs eye Bafana star but club slap R20m price tag

Kaizer Chiefs target Elias Mokwana could be available this transfer market as Espérance places a R20 million price tag.
The 25-year-old has had a good debut season with the Tunisian giants, scoring three times in 25 appearances. Mokwana has also featured in the FIFA Club World Cup, and despite his good performance, his side was knocked out in the group stages.
According to Africafoot , Espérance is open to letting the Bafana Bafana player leave but is holding out for a fee in the region of R20 million.
Despite limited playing time this past season, Mokwana played a role in the club's successful campaign that saw them secure a domestic league and cup double.
According to Soccer Laduma , Amakhosi are looking to bring back the player back in the PSL.
'The Siya crew has been informed that Kaizer Chiefs are exploring the feasibility of bringing the Bafana Bafana international back to South Africa. While no formal approach has been made yet, Mokwana is understood to be open to return,' the publication added.
Esperance have placed a 20m price tag on Mokwana but it remains to be seen if Kaizer Chiefs will spent that amount of money on one player. So far, the Soweto giants have signed six players.

'He's a millionaire at 20': Orlando Pirates fans react to Nkota's departure

Orlando Pirates fans have expressed mixed reactions to the club's decision to sell winger Mohau Nkota. The 20-year-old scored seven goals across all competitions last campaign for the Buccaneers in his debut season. On Sunday, the club confirmed that Nkota would join Ettifaq Club in the Saudi Pro League after agreeing on personal terms and passing medicals. 'Nkota's departure comes after a standout debut season in the Buccaneers' senior squad, where he featured in 39 official matches and registered 12 goal contributions,' the club wrote on their website 'Promoted to the first team at the start of the 2024/25 campaign following a stellar showing with the Club's DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side, the Kimberley-born attacker quickly made his mark. He (Nkota) made his senior debut on October 19, 2024, in the Carling Black Label Cup clash against Magesi FC, coming off the bench at halftime to replace Monnapule Saleng,' said Orlando Pirates. Nkota's departure will give more space for new signings such as Oswin Appollis and Tshepang Moremi. The duo were signed earlier this month after the transfer window opened. As soon as the club announced the winger's departure, some fans were upset by the decision. 'Have you ever had a moment where you dont know to celebrate or be sad?I have already accepted that Rele has to go. I wasn't expecting Mohau to go now,' @blaq_maestro tweeted. 'Orlando Pirates has left us very very short now. By sending Saleng on loan we don't have a replacement for Nkota,' @GustavoNinela. The majority of football fans on X (Twitter) felt that the player deserved to move after his impressive debut season. Nkota becomes the first Orlando Pirates player to be sold to a Saudi Pro League team. 'Mohau Nkota securing generational wealth at 20 years old in Saudi nah respect,' @iviwesaleng · Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Orlando Pirates transfer news: Nkota, Mofokeng, Ighodaro, Saudi

Orlando Pirates have been by far the busiest team during the off-season. So far, the Buccaneers have signed nine players which including the likes of Sipho Mbule and Oswin Appollis. The nine players are part of the squad that is currently in Spain for their pre-season training. On Sunday, the Buccaneers shocked many fans when they announced the departure of Mohau Nkota. The 20-year-old has been one of their best players last season, scoring crucial goals in the league and CAF Champions League. 'Orlando Pirates confirm that an agreement has been reached for the permanent transfer of Mohau Nkota to Ettifaq Club in the Saudi Pro League,' the club said in a statement. 'The move is subject to the 20-year-old agreeing to personal terms and passing a medical. Nkota's departure comes after a standout debut season in the Buccaneers' senior squad, where he featured in 39 official matches and registered 12 goal contributions.' Relebohile Mofokeng is currently in Spain with the Buccaneers but has been widely tipped to move to Europe in the coming weeks. Both Mofokeng and Nkota were instrumental for Pirates last season, and losing them both could hurt the team. 'I feel alive,' Mofokeng said when he was asked about his pre-season 'Football is back, we're back, so that brings back my life. The rest [break] was short, but then it's work, what can we say? We have to get going,' he said as per KickOff. . It was reported in June that Orlando Pirates joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro. Teams like Kaizer Chiefs were also said to be interested in the Nigerian-born forward who spent last season on loan at AmaZulu. Another Nigerian who is actually in the books of Orlando Pirates is Olisa Ndah. The talented defender is not part of the Buccaneers' pre-season squad in Spain. This week, his agent Mike Makaab revealed that the experienced centre back was in his final stages of rehabilitation and will rejoin the team when they return from camp.
