WNBA All-Star Game Performer Arrested On Felony Charge
The WNBA All-Star Weekend took place in Indianapolis, Indiana, to rave reviews.
While Caitlin Clark was unable to play in the game - or take part in the 3-Point Contest - thousands of fans still flocked to Indianapolis for the special weekend. The 3-Point Contest was won by Sabrina Ionescu, the players wore "Pay Us What You Owe Us" T-shirts before the game and the TV ratings were solid.
However, one of the halftime performers from the WNBA All-Star Game has since been arrested. And she has reportedly been arrested on a felony charge.
It's troubling.
Rapper GloRilla, who performed at halftime of the WNBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, was arrested on a felony drug possession charge, according to TMZ.
From the report:
As we told you, GloRilla's house was broken into this weekend ... by the time cops arrived, the suspects were gone -- but investigators say they encountered weed in their search for the burglars, and the rapper was then charged with felony drug possession.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office tells TMZ ... deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress Saturday around 1:30 AM at a residence in the Atlanta suburbs. The sheriff's office says three suspects entered the house when an "armed occupant fired at the intruders."
Her lawyers have since spoken out.
"When her family members did the right thing and called law enforcement, instead of investigating the violent home invasion and theft at Ms. Woods' home, they instead sought a search warrant when they spotted what they believed was a small amount of marijuana," the attorneys said. "Law enforcement then sought arrest warrants for her even though she hadn't been at her home for some time. No arrest warrants have been issued for the violent home invaders. Ms. Woods is a victim, not a suspect. This is our tax dollars at work, absolutely unbelievable."
Police, meanwhile, are standing by their decision.
"The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice," Sheriff Ron Freeman said in a statement, according to FOX 5 in Atlanta. "At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case."

Victor Wembanyama may want the NBA to distance itself from Karl Malone
San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama made a very noteworthy decision on social media Friday afternoon and it could make waves around the NBA. Wembanyama, who is currently recovering from a blood clot that sidelined him for the second half of last season, was recently cleared to return from his injury. He caught some attention based on some of his social media activity this week. The NBA made a post wishing a happy birthday to former NBA star Karl Malone. Here is what we wrote in 2023 regarding allegations that Malone impregnated his 13-year-old neighbor when he was 20: Blood tests showed a 99.3 percent probability Malone was the father of Demetress Bell, per AP. The family could have filed criminal charges against Malone for impregnating a minor because, in Louisiana, an individual could not consent to sex until the age of 17. While statutory rape could have carried a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, Malone was a 'neighborhood kid', so they didn't press charges. His actions are absolutely heinous and should make it hard for the NBA to look themselves in the mirror after honoring this man two years in a row. But the story doesn't stop there for Malone and his awful shortcomings. When the child's grandparents filed a lawsuit in 1985 requesting $200 a week to help their daughter raise their son, Malone did not respond, despite his career earnings topping $104 million. He was ordered to pay $125 per week in child support, but he appealed, eventually reaching a settlement that did not require him to acknowledge that he was the father. It seems more than possible that Wembanyama is aware of the history surrounding Malone. More: The NBA should be ashamed for honoring Karl Malone during All-Star Weekend He reposted DJ J. Strand reacting to the birthday wishes with a meme video of content creator Lil Rodney Son saying "Oh no, see, that's what we not about to do." Also in the video responding to the post about Malone, Lil Rodney Son is on camera saying someone belongs "under the jail" for their actions. To be fair, we don't know exactly why Wembanyama chose to repost this. Remember: Reposts do not equal endorsements (which is now officially the case, as decided by a judge) so unless Wembanyama directly says something about the matter, we do not know his feelings. But many, including Complex, are speculating that Wemby would like the league to distance itself from Malone. Even this, though, is more than most (if not all) prominent basketball players have said about this difficult topic. So perhaps just the speculation that the rising star wants no part of Malone is enough for the NBA to listen.

GloRilla's home was targeted by burglars. She says it's ‘crazy' that she was arrested instead
Rap star Glorilla is spilling her tea about her recent arrest, sharing her side of the chain of events that led to her felony drug charges this week. The 'Sticky' and 'TGIF' musician, whose real name is Gloria Woods, said Thursday on X that her run-in with law-enforcement officials was 'CRAZY.' She claimed that police, 'instead of focusing on finding the Suspects' who broke into her Atlanta home, 'they focus[ed] on some cannabis.' '1. So no I wasn't busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn't home,' the 25-year-old performer wrote. 'Long story short my house gets home invaded and I'm the only one that gets arrested.' Officers with the Forsyth County [Ga.] Sheriff's Office were dispatched early Sunday morning to the rapper's home, responding to a report of a burglary. Woods was in Indianapolis at the time for the WNBA All-Star Game, where she was the halftime performer. Three suspects entered Woods' home and were stealing items when an occupant of the house fired a weapon at the intruders. The intruders fled the scene and did not appear to have been injured, the sheriff's office said. Deputies investigating the burglary noticed a 'strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics,' and a drug task force secured a warrant to search the home. A statement from the sheriff's office alleges the task force found marijuana 'in plain view inside the master bedroom closet.' Woods was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. She voluntarily turned herself in on Tuesday and was released on $22,260 later that day. The sheriff's office said that it has not located the suspects and that its investigation into the burglary is ongoing. Legal representatives for Woods alleged the suspects fled the scene with 'high value jewelry' and that Woods' family members staying at the home 'were traumatized' by the incident. Attorneys Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg said in a statement that Woods' arrest is 'a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become' and that their client 'is a victim, not a suspect.' Sheriff Ron Freeman said in a statement that the homeowner is the 'victim of a serious crime' and that officers seek justice but 'at the same time ... must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.' After speaking out on X about her arrest, GloRilla moved forward by celebrating the arrival of Leo season. The 'Typa' artist, who celebrates her birthday Monday, shared on social media revealing pictures of herself posing with a chair. 'Anyways, dey done let da LEOS ina door,' she captioned the pics. The three-time Grammy nominee will take over the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn., on Friday for her inaugural Glo Bash concert. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
