He emphasised that his government ensures every mother gets support, regardless of number of children, with social security pensions raised to Rs 4,000, Rs 10,000 for dialysis patients, and Rs 15,000 for bedridden, backed by a Rs 2,750 crore monthly allocation—outpacing States like Telangana (Rs 8,000 crore per annum) and Kerala (Rs 7,200 crore).
Addressing a gathering at Praja Vedika in Malakapalli of Kovvur segment during the Pedala Sevalo programme on Tuesday, he handed over a cobbler pension to Sanamandra Posh Babu, and a widow pension to Geddam Krishnadurga, engaging with their families to address their concerns.
He highlighted innovations like automated widow pension, and provision for collecting three months' pension at once, noting that 1,20,461 beneficiaries haven't claimed pensions in two months, potentially saving Rs 98.19 crore, though the government prioritises delivery.
Naidu announced grand plans for Godavari Pushkaralu. 'I've overseen Godavari Pushkaralu in the erstwhile united AP, and also in the bifurcated AP. This time, we will conduct Godavari Pushkaralu like never before,' he asserted.

New Delhi: The Delhi government's plan to lift the fuel ban on end-of-life vehicles and make efforts to resolve issues related to the restrictions on their movement has come too late for one man, who had to sell two expensive vehicles at throwaway prices because of the policy. In 2014, the National Green Tribunal ruled that diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old will not be allowed to be used in Delhi and the National Capital Region. This was later upheld by the Supreme Court. This policy forced Nitin Goyal to sell his 2013 Jaguar Land Rover, which he bought for Rs 65 lakh, to a person from Himachal Pradesh for just Rs 8 lakh. He also sold his 10-year-old Mercedes C Class 220 CDI Sports Limited Edition, for which he had paid Rs 40 lakh, for just Rs 4 lakh. Goyal asked that if BS-IV vehicles were being allowed to be sold till 2020, how were vehicles that followed the same norms, but manufactured in 2013, suddenly unfit for use? He has now bought a Jaguar F-Pace. Delhi Government's Letter The Delhi government on Thursday urged the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), which is responsible for taking anti-pollution measures for the Capital and NCR, to suspend the fuel ban on end-of-life vehicles just two days after it was implemented. Pumps in Delhi had been instructed not to give fuel to diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. Following outrage, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the fuel ban was not feasible and technological challenges were coming in the way of implementing it. Mr Sirsa said people were unhappy because of the ban and the BJP government would stand by them. "Because of several critical operational and infrastructural challenges, it will not be feasible to implement this order at this juncture. In fact, immediate implementation may be premature and potentially counterproductive," Mr Sirsa said in a letter to the CAQM. The government also said it will make all efforts to resolve issues related to the restrictions on the movement of end-of-life vehicles in Delhi. How To Get Back Impounded Vehicles More than a dozen four-wheelers and over 60 two-wheelers were also seized after July 1, when the fuel ban came into effect. To recover the impounded vehicles, three conditions will need to be met: An affidavit will have to be given that the vehicle will be taken out of Delhi to another state. A challan of Rs 10,000 will have to be paid. The expenses incurred by the Transport Department in seizing the vehicle will also have to be reimbursed by the vehicle's owner.

Buoyed by the global spotlight on indigenous capabilities after Operation Sindoor, the government's decision signals a major pivot in India's military modernisation policy, emphasising self-reliance over imports. Indian defence products, especially the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and the Akash surface-to-air missile system, earned global praise following their performance in Operation Sindoor, India's military offensive against terror camps in Pakistan. The operation showcased India's evolving battlefield prowess and technological sophistication, prompting speculation about major new arms deals with foreign nations. However, the Modi government has made it clear that the future lies in indigenous defence innovation. In a landmark move, the Defence Acquisition Council has cleared three major military purchases and seven other deals, all designed, developed, and manufactured in India. These include next-generation spy planes, mine-sweeping vessels, and mobile missile defence systems. Rs 44,000 Crore For Homegrown Mine Vessels Among the most significant approvals is the procurement of 12 indigenous Mine Countermeasure Vessels (MCMVs), with an estimated outlay of Rs 44,000 crore. These 900-1,000-tonne specialised warships are designed to neutralise underwater mines that pose threats to naval operations, especially in wartime scenarios where enemy nations may attempt to blockade ports or shipping routes. Indian Navy currently relies on basic 'clip-on" mine detection systems attached to existing vessels. With the induction of purpose-built mine sweepers, India's warships and submarines will be shielded more effectively. These vessels will serve as a frontline defence, securing maritime corridors from stealthy threats, a critical move given India's long coastline and the deepening China-Pakistan naval nexus in the Indian Ocean. Rs 36,000 Crore For QRSAM To Fortify Air Defence The government has also approved the acquisition of Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missiles (QRSAM) worth Rs 36,000 crore. Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), these mobile missile batteries are designed to neutralise enemy aircraft, helicopters, and drones within a 30 km radius. Three squadrons each will be provided to the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force initially. The Army has projected the need for 11 full regiments. These missiles, easily transportable across varied terrains, will plug critical gaps in India's multi-layered air defence network, which already includes the S-400 and Akash systems. Rs 10,000 Crore For ISTAR Spy Aircraft India is also stepping up its electronic warfare and surveillance game with the approval to purchase three ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance) aircraft. At a cost of Rs 10,000 crore, these advanced aircrafts will significantly enhance India's ability to peer deep into enemy territory. Designed with indigenous sensors and systems, including synthetic aperture radar, infrared sensors, and electro-optical payloads, these aircraft are capable of detecting and tracking even the subtlest movements. Developed in collaboration with DRDO, they are expected to boost precision targeting for both fighter jets and missiles in hostile environments. Self-Reliance Over Imports This aggressive push toward indigenization comes even as other global powers continue to sell fifth-generation fighter jets and next-gen missile defense systems. While India has already inducted French Rafale jets and Russian S-400s, officials say the focus now is on creating a self-sustaining defense ecosystem. Sources within the Ministry of Defence confirm that India's own 5th generation fighter project, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), is progressing rapidly, with prototypes expected in the next few years. By opting out of immediate foreign acquisitions, India is signaling confidence in its domestic capabilities and a long-term strategy to emerge as a global defence exporter.

MP CM announces laptop aid for over 94,000 top-scoring Class 12 students
The Madhya Pradesh government awarded a staggering amount of Rs 239 crore in laptop aid to about 94,234 deserving class 12 students today, July 4, 2025. The Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana is designed to empower and encourage students who took the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) Class 12 exams and received a score of at least 75 per cent. The chosen students will receive Rs 25,000 directly in their bank accounts to purchase a laptop to help them with their studies. MPBSE exam results 2025: Government post MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav wrote on his X and said, "I'm delighted that on 4th July, we will extend financial incentives of Rs 25,000 each to 94,234 students who have scored 75 percent or above in the Class 12 MP Board examinations." The CM also gave away laptops to 15 top-performing Class 12 students from government schools across the state during a programme held at the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre on Friday. These students scored the highest marks in various subjects, including science, commerce, the arts, and mathematics, in the academic year 2024–2025 in the state. Of them, Prayal Dwivedi was the first to get a laptop from the Chief Minister after achieving the highest score of 492 out of 500 in the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) exams. During the event, School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh joined the chief minister. Other meritorious and deserving students who received laptops are Harsh Pandey (490), Ankur Yadav (490), Abhay Singh (489), Aryan Pandey (488), Heena Kumari (488), Hariom Shahu (486), Raghuveer Gautam (484), Gargi Agrawal (484), Divyanshu Tiwari (484), Deepika Singh (483), Parth Rathore (483), Nishra Pandit (487), Panjal Kushwaha (487), and Yogita Tank (478). What is "Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana"? Since its launch in 2009–10, the "Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana" Scheme has assisted over 4.3 lakh students with funds totalling more than INR 1080 crore. The program encourages youth to pursue higher education and promotes digital literacy. Approximately 89,710 students were awarded financial aid under this program in 2023–2024. Both regular and self-taught students from government and accredited non-government schools are covered under the program. Students from the general category must have received at least 75%, while those from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) must have received at least 65%.
