Shiprocket to set up three more dark stores in India in next 3-6 months

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI) Shiprocket, India's leading eCommerce enablement platform, on Monday announced it will set up three more dark stores in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata in the next 3-6 months in the country for quick delivery.
Already existed three dark stores in the country – Delhi, Mumbai and Bengalur and the centres will offer a comprehensive suite of services to support e-commerce businesses, including solutions for fulfilling online orders, managing inventory, and optimizing delivery logistics, said Shiprocket CEO (Domestic Shipping) Atul Mehta
on the occasion of hosting shiprocket Yatra 2025 here to empower MSME merchants in the region.
Shiprocket recently filed a pre-filed draft red herring prospectus (pre-DRHP) with market regulator Sebi, marking the logistics tech company's formal step toward a public listing.
Shiprocket, incorporated as Bigfoot Retail Solutions and headquartered in Delhi NCR, has not disclosed the size of the proposed issue in the public advertisement.
Backed by investors including Zomato and Temasek, Shiprocket provides end-to-end shipping and fulfilment solutions to direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands and independent merchants, a segment that currently generates 70-80% of its revenues.
Dark stores which are mostly in metro cities, essentially micro-fulfillment centers, are a key component of the quick commerce landscape, and Shiprocket provides the tools and infrastructure to enable their efficient operation, he informed.
Each store measures 3,000 sq. ft and the company also has 32 shared warehouses (each warehouse measuring over 1.5 lakh sq. ft , measuring across the country, he said.
Of the total 3 lakh plus sellers across the country, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have emerged as strategic markets for Shiprocket, with around 18,000 sellers from these states onboarded to the platform to date, Atul said that these sellers have collectively contributed to over 2 crore shipments, demonstrating the region's strong digital adoption and entrepreneurial agility.
In FY25 alone, shipment volumes from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reached around 35 lakh+ shipments, marking a robust year-on-year growth of around 25 per cent, he said.
Shiprocket Yatra brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and innovators to discuss how MSMEs can leverage eCommerce enablement to unlock domestic and global growth opportunities, he said.
'MSMEs in India often face significant challenges at every stage of their eCommerce journey, from digital onboarding and order fulfilment to customer experience and scalability. Shiprocket Yatra 2025 - Hyderabad chapter highlights the importance of the key growth markets in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, said Atul.
The exceptional growth stories from our seller community in the region underscore the transformative role of eCommerce enablement. Our commitment is to continue equipping these businesses with advanced tools and proprietary technology that help them drive better discoverability, improve customer experience, and achieve sustainable growth, he said..
Sellers from the region have also played a significant role in exports, extending their reach beyond the domestic market to global customers, perfectly aligning with Shiprocket's mission to democratise eCommerce for the emerging Bharat by offering scalable, tech-driven solutions, he added.
