
Motorcyclist killed in collision with 4WD at Jalan Mambong-Seratau
KUCHING (Aug 5): A 57-year-old local man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a four-wheel drive (4WD) at Jalan Mambong-Seratau last night.
Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi said the accident was reported to have occurred at around 9.10pm.
'The impact of the collision caused the motorcyclist to suffer serious injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
'The 4WD driver, however, did not sustain any injuries,' he said when contacted.
He added that the victim's body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Department of Sarawak General Hospital for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Magistrate Nur Natasya Mohtarudin also disqualified Mohamad Hamir Masruddin, 44, from holding or possessing a driving licence for five years. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to serve the jail term immediately. The fine was paid on the same day.
