El Gouna's Barten Is Open in the North Coast's Masyaf Ras Alhekma
Barten Masyaf is the brand's first foray outside its hometown, El Gouna.
Barten has always had a bit of a reputation. Not the scandalous kind—though El Gouna weekends might argue otherwise—but the kind that clings to a place where the music hums just right and the drinks know what they're doing. A shoreline favourite. A sundown ritual. A pitstop that feels more like a plot point.
And now, it's packing up the party and heading up the coast.
This summer, Barten is setting down new roots—and they just happen to be beachfront. Masyaf Ras Alhekma marks the brand's first-ever foray outside El Gouna, opening its doors within M squared's flagship North Coast development. New view, same spirit.

No copy-paste job, though. This one's built different—literally. Designed by the minds at Alchemy, Barten Masyaf feels like something sketched at golden hour. Think laidback lines, sandy toes, and just enough shade to keep your drink cool. The venue is planted right on the beach—no boardwalk buffer, no awkward shoe decisions. Come as you are, preferably sun-kissed.
The menu follows suit. Inspired by traditional Asian flavours, it brings together regional classics with a modern twist—think Japanese staples reimagined, and familiar dishes layered with subtle surprises. It's casual, curated, and designed to travel well with sunset.
It's not pretending to be El Gouna. It's just Barten, in a new zip code, with a fresh sea breeze and a playlist that still knows how to flirt. Maybe this is what happens when a beach bar grows up with its sense of fun intact.
Whether you've been loyal since day one or just wandered over from a nearby deckchair, the message is clear: Barten is open at Masyaf Ras AlHekma—and summer's already on the guest list.

Cairo Marriott is Turning Staycations Into a Status Move This Summer

This summer, Cairo Marriott offers Cairenes a palace staycation with pools, shaded gardens, a spa, and 14 dining spots, a city escape without leaving the city. Jul 07, 2025 There are staycations, and then there's summer at Cairo Marriott Hotel, where you check into an actual 19th-century palace and immediately find yourself debating whether the pool or the spa should come first. This season, the property leans into its urban-palatial credentials with a limited summer offer. For families, the experience is designed to accommodate every age: children have a dedicated play corner to get creative, while adults are left to choose between spa treatments, garden strolls, or riverside cocktails. Daily pop-ups, live performances, and rotating in-house activations keep the atmosphere lively without overwhelming the calm. Dining, of course, is a chapter of its own. With 14 restaurants ranging from Italian at Ristorante Tuscany and French with Saraya Gallery, to Japanese restaurant Torii and Oriental dishes at Egyptian Nights, every taste is accounted for. Whether it's steak at JW Steakhouse, mezze under the stars at Garden Promenade Café, pastries, or simply a poolside snack from Waves, the culinary circuit reflects the hotel's urban-palatial ethos: indulgent and staying at the hotel also have the rare chance to take a private tour of the 150-year-old palace, with access to its lesser-seen halls and historical corridors. From now until August 31st, the Cairo Marriott invites you to escape without leaving the city. The summer staycation package starts at EGP 7,500 per night for a deluxe double room, inclusive of service charges, taxes, daily breakfast, and parking. New Restaurant Kimchik Is a Korean Fast Food Hot Spot

We're talking fried chicken, dumplings, K-pop bites, and more. Jul 06, 2025 Fried chicken is an infallible food. It holds our hands and satiates our deepest of hungers, anywhere and at any time. It opens our appetite when we don't want to eat and fills up when we feel like nothing could possibly heal our hunger. But, let's be honest, if you're eating the same tenders every other day, it can get boring. Well, you don't have to. Fried chicken connoisseurs can have their pick from Nashville to Kentucky, but the best eaters know that there's nothing quite like Korean, and Kimchik, the newest Korean fried chicken spot on the town, is well aware of this. Kimchik claim that hey make Korean fried chicken 'the loud way'. Unlike other shops, they make their wings and breasts in a variety of flavours; classic, sweet chili, teriyaki honey glaze, lime garlic coriander, and a spicy Yanghyeom. That wasn't enough flavour for them, either, because they also offer a wide range of dips, each complimenting a flavour of fried chicken, including sambal, mala mayo and big BBQ teriyaki. Besides fried chicken, Kimchik also offers scrumptious appetisers like dak and peanut bao buns, colourful shrimp twister dumplings and a concoction called K-pop bites, which consists of chili pops and cream. They also serve out various rice and noodle dishes, for a more classic Asian food experience, like the fan-favourite sweet chili shrimp noodles. Still got room? Grab a box of Kimchik's sweet rounded Bukkumi on your way out for a fun dessert.
