"Each One Reach One": Special Olympics Bharat launches nationwide registration drive
Kicking off across India, this initiative aims to expand the reach of Special Olympics Bharat, providing opportunities for sports training, health initiatives, education and youth development to countless individuals with intellectual disabilities.
SO Bharat has been diligently working to provide opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in the fields of sports, health, education and youth leadership, the release stated.
This campaign is another step towards fulfilling SO Bharat's aim to create an inclusive and accepting society, helping people from all walks of life cherish their dreams.
'We are incredibly excited to launch 'Each One Reach One,' a vital initiative that represents our commitment to inclusion and empowerment,' said Mallika Nadda, President of SO Bharat.
'This drive is an endeavour to reach every potential person with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), giving them the chance to discover their strengths, build confidence and experience the joy of sports, leading to overall personality development. We believe that every individual, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to shine,' he added.
Due to the efforts of SO Bharat, various athletes have represented India at the World Games, returning with stellar medal counts and making the nation proud. Most recently, in March 2025, SO Bharat athletes displayed exceptional performance at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy, winning a total of 33 medals, including 8 gold, 18 silver, and 7 bronze.
The 'Each One Reach One' registration drive is a crucial step towards realising Special Olympics Bharat's vision of a more inclusive and accepting society. It aims to include more individuals with intellectual disabilities in its roster and help them identify their potential and excel in sports, education and leadership. (ANI)

The 24-year-old was at her attacking best against USA's Yosline Perez to get a unanimous verdict from the judges, as per a press release from the Boxing Federation of India (BFI). The Indian contingent has had a fruitful outing at the World Boxing Cup here and is assured of a total of 11 medals. India had bagged six medals in the first leg in Brazil, including a gold and a silver. There were four Indian boxers in action in the first session on Sunday, and it was Sakshi who managed to stand atop the podium with a stellar display that combined speed and combination punches. Earlier, Meenakshi pushed hard for victory against local favourite Nazym Kyzaibay in the 48kg final but ended on the wrong side of a 3:2 verdict. Jugnoo (men's 85kg) and Pooja Rani (women's 80kg) will also return home with silver medals after losing their respective finals. Jugnoo lost 0:5 against Bekzad Nurdauletov of Kazakhstan, while Pooja went down by an identical score line against Australia's Eseta Flint. Four more Indians will be vying for gold medals in the evening session with Brazil leg gold medallist Hitesh Gulia (men's 70kg) leading the charge along with Abhinash Jamwal (men's 65kg), Jaismine (women's 57kg) and Nupur (women's 85+ kg). Young Flintoff registers first Youth ODI century against India
Worcester [UK], July 6 (ANI): Batting at No. 4 in the fourth Youth ODI against India at the County Ground in Worcester, 17-year-old Rocky Flintoff walked in during the 15th over with England at 104/2. Openers BJ Dawkins (67) and Joseph Moores (52) had given the hosts a strong start while chasing a big target of 364, as per Wisden. Flintoff began cautiously and took his time to settle in. His first boundary came only on his 20th ball, a straight six off spinner Naman Pushpak. The momentum picked up in the 25th over when he smashed three consecutive fours off Deepesh Devendran. From 13 off 20 balls, he accelerated smartly and reached his fifty in 41 deliveries. He was particularly dominant against Pushpak, scoring 36 runs off him, including two sixes and two fours. Flintoff brought up his maiden Youth ODI hundred in the 43rd over, reaching the milestone in 88 balls with a two through the off side. He was eventually dismissed for 107 as the ninth wicket. This was Flintoff's second century for England U19, his first came in a Youth Test against Sri Lanka last July, where he scored 106. Earlier this year, at just 16, he became the youngest player to score a hundred for England A or Lions, with a remarkable century from No. 9 against Australia A. He also became Lancashire's youngest debutant in the County Championship last August. Despite Flintoff's heroics, England fell short. Earlier in the day, 14-year-old IPL sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed the fastest century in Youth ODI history, and Vihaan Malhotra added 129 at over a run-a-ball to power India to 363/9. Apart from Flintoff and the two openers, no other England batter made more than 20. When Flintoff was dismissed, England still needed 80 from 40 balls with just one wicket left. Due to the delay, 80 overs will be bowled. BCCI posted updated session timings on X, '1st session 12.40-14.30 Local Time (05.10 PM-07.00 PM IST), Lunch 14.30-15.10 Local Time (07.00 PM-07.40 PM IST), 2nd session 15.10-17.10 Local Time (07.40 PM-09.40 PM IST), Tea 17.10-17.30 Local Time (09.40 PM-10.00 PM IST), 3rd session 17.30-19.00 Local Time (10.00 PM-11.30 PM IST).' Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep rattled England's top-order with the new ball yet again, leaving India seven wickets shy of going level in the series after the end of the fourth day, thoroughly dominated by the tourists at Edgbaston on Saturday. England posted 72/3 in 16 overs, 556 runs short of victory, with Harry Brook and Ollie Pope unbeaten on scores of 15(15) and 24(44). India has to scythe seven scalps on the final day to restore parity at 1-1 in the five-match series.
