PFF wanted to rank the top 10 returning incumbent NFL coaches in 2025. Dalton Wasserman explained his approach to the process, explaining, "Players ultimately decide who wins and loses football games, but coaching plays a massive part in optimizing their performance. There certainly isn't a shortage of excellent head coaches, both old and young, in the NFL, and we're ranking the best among them. This will be a ranking of head coaches returning to their incumbent positions in 2025. Newly hired coaches — Aaron Glenn, Mike Vrabel, Liam Coen, Pete Carroll, Brian Schottenheimer, Ben Johnson and Kellen Moore — will not be included."
For the Minnesota Vikings, their coach, Kevin O'Connell, is coming off a 2024 campaign that saw him take a backup quarterback in Sam Darnold and go 14-3. In the process, he would earn Coach of the Year honors and is now poised to start sculpting the next piece of quarterback clay in 2025, J.J. McCarthy.
So, where would he be ranked? That's the thing, he did not crack the top ten.
You will have to see the rankings for yourself, but we will mention that the Lions' Dan Campbell came in ninth. No other NFC North coaches were ranked, of course, not the first-year head coach Ben Johnson. That being said, though, not having O'Connell coming off a coach of the year performance is a bit puzzling.

Watt got, but his deal does have guarantees deep into the deal. 'That seems to be where Hendrickson wants, and there's a couple of different ways this could go... They could figure out a way to get this done in a way that all sides are happy, or they could simply not, and Hendrickson could go out, play on the 16 this year, then be a free agent next year and end this whole bandaid-upon-bandaid-upon-bandaid situation.' Cincinnati has Super Bowl aspirations, and with their offensive core locked up for the foreseeable future, the Bengals have run into trouble when it comes to contracts of two key players on defense, Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart. The Bengals are running out of time to sort these situations out or else they could be playing Week 1 without two players who are important to getting to the quarterback.

Newcastle United legend Nolberto Solano named as Pakistan coach
ISLAMABAD (AP) — Newcastle United legend Nolberto Solano has been appointed as head coach of Pakistan's senior and under-23 teams. Solano will take over from Stephen Constantine and his first major assignment will be the AFC Under-23 qualifiers in September where Pakistan is grouped with Cambodia, Iraq and Oman. He will also be in charge for the remainder of Pakistan's 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifying campaign, including a double-header against Afghanistan in October. Solano's appointment is the first major signing by the newly-elected Pakistan Football Federation with Mohsen Gilani as its president. 'Under President Mohsen Gilani's leadership, PFF proudly welcomes Nolberto Solano as Head Coach of Pakistan U23 with a pathway to the senior team!,' the PFF wrote on X while welcoming the former Peru winger. 'A true legend with EPL, World Cup & Copa América pedigree it's a new era for Pakistan football.' Solano was the assistant coach of Peru when his country qualified for the FIFA World Cup in 2018 in Russia after 36 years. He left the national team in 2022 when Peru failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar after it was beaten by Australia in an inter-continental playoff. ESPN unimpressed with Steelers roster changes this offseason in rankings
2025 has been an unprecedented offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh took a hyper-aggressive approach to roster building, including some huge free-agent additions and two blockbuster trades. This is all in an attempt to finally get the Steelers over the hump and actually win a playoff game. ESPN ranked every NFL roster and despite all the moves, they seem underwhelmed by the Steelers. They have Pittsburgh ranked at No. 19 overall. The identified edge rusher as the roster's biggest strength. While we agree that the foursome of T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig and Jack Sawyer are probably the best in the AFC, this group (minus Sawyer) hasn't been great the last three seasons. Pittsburgh only had 40 sacks last season and hasn't had more than 47 since 2021. As far as the biggest weakness, ESPN went with offensive tackle. This is absolutely a fair point. Broderick Jones has moved to left tackle after taking a step back in his second season and new right tackle Troy Fautanu is coming off of a serious knee injury and is a completely unknown.
