'Sexually-motivated' teacher told school pupil 'you're mine little duck'
A "sexually motivated" teacher who confessed her love to a pupil and told them "you're mine, little duck" has been banned from teaching. Charlotte Doman, 35, worked as a history teacher at William Edwards School in Essex when she started to contact the boy - referred to as Pupil A - outside of school on social media and sent "inappropriate messages", according to a Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) panel.
Ms Doman, then 32, sent dozens of messages to Pupil A between April and May 2023. In one, she said: "You're not even legal or an adult or anything. Like, am I taking advantage of you? Some days it feels like you're taking advantage of me lol."
She provided her mobile number to the pupil and told him she loved him on Instagram, writing: "YOU have all the control in this relationship" and also said: "Love that you're still ignoring me. I'm gonna go get f***** up".
Ms Doman also told Pupil A details about her sexual relationships, the panel found, saying in an Instagram message: "One night I ended up with three different guys".
The 34-year-old woman admitted she encouraged Pupil A to drink alcohol and smoke cannabis with her, and said in a statement: "I am unsure why any of this occurred. I certainly don't behave like this myself. I drink alcohol less than once a month and never to excess, and I've never taken drugs." The teacher also sent photographs of herself, including her tattoos.
Ms Domain admitted to calling the pupil her "little duck", writing: "You're mine, little duck." She later recognised this was "inappropriate. "
The former teacher even confessed her "love" to the student and told them to "get use to it".
She wrote: 'I'm going to keep telling you I love you even though you don't like it because you need to know people love you. I don't care if you never love me or say it because love isn't meant to be selfish. It's not how it works. So get used to it.'
The teaching panel concluded "the findings of misconduct are serious as they include a teacher engaging in sexually motivated and inappropriate communications with a pupil."
The report read: "The panel recognised that there was no prompting or encouragement by Pupil A for Miss Doman to disclose details in respect of her sexual experiences or relationship. The panel did not see any other reason as to why Miss Doman discussed her past sexual experiences, problems in her relationship and a graphic sexual extract from a book other than if it were in pursuit of sexual gratification or in pursuit of a future sexual relationship. The panel therefore determined that Miss Doman's conduct was sexually motivated".
A parent of a pupil raised concerns with the school on May 24, 2023, in response to her alleged conduct at the time, prompting them to make a referral to the Local Authority Designated Officer on the same day.
After the school commenced an investigation, Ms Doman was suspended from her duties and resigned from her position at the school on June 20, 2023.
Simon Bell, Headteacher of William Edwards School, said they were "appalled" by the actions of the former staff member. He confirmed the school took "robust" actions to address the incident.
Mr Bell told The Mirror: 'We are appalled and deeply disappointed by the actions of this former staff member, who was immediately suspended and went through a disciplinary process which resulted in her leaving our employment shortly afterwards'.
'The safeguarding of our students is always our top priority, and we took immediate action when concerns were raised, including referrals to a number of external agencies including the Local Authority Safeguarding Team, Essex Police, the Disclosure and Barring Service and the Teacher Regulation Agency.'
'We are reassured that our robust safeguarding processes allowed us to act swiftly to address the concerns and welcome the Teacher Regulation Agency's decision to ban them from teaching in the future.'
In a written conclusion published on Wednesday, Marc Cavey, on behalf of the Secretary of State, decided Ms Doman should be banned from teaching indefinitely, subject to a five-year review period.

BBC Strictly star Seann Walsh left shaken as strange man jumps into his car
Comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing star Seann Walsh has recalled a terrifying moment where a stranger jumped into the passenger seat of his car in London Strictly Come Dancing alumni Seann Walsh and Michelle Tsiakkas have both spoken out about separate frightening incidents they recently experienced in London. Comedian Seann Walsh, who appeared on Strictly in 2018, described a disturbing moment when a stranger attempted to get into his car while he was stopped at a red light. Sharing the experience on Instagram, he wrote: 'New in the adventures of living in London: today whilst waiting at the lights in my car, a guy walked up to my car, opened the passenger side door and went to get in.' It comes after Seann, 39, had his phone stolen in london before it travelled across the globe. Of the latest terrifying ordeal, Seann said: "Luckily, the traffic lights had changed and I could drive off. It's beginning to feel like I'm living in Grand Theft Auto.' This happened just weeks after Walsh was mugged. At the time, he posted: "My phone was stolen (yes out of my hand and yes, I live in London) a week or so ago and it is now in China if anyone happens to be passing by,' alongside a screenshot showing his phone's new location. Meanwhile, professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, who joined the Strictly cast in 2022, also shared a troubling experience of being mugged in the capital. In a video posted to Instagram, she said: "Hi guys, so I wanted to just make this video to let you know something that happened to me the other day in London. "Now this was a couple of days ago and I've just about mentally recovered from that. It was quite traumatising on the day. It wasted my whole day and made me feel awful, scared, helpless and I don't want the same to happen to you." Tsiakkas explained she had been heading to a dentist appointment near Covent Garden when the incident occurred. She continued: "It was early morning… I whipped out my phone to check the directions. A man on an electric bike came up from behind, swept past me and grabbed my phone." "My heart just sank. I tried to reach for it, which made me fall and graze my knee. I screamed, 'Give me back my phone,' but he just rode off. He was wearing a mask and moving too fast to identify or follow." Tsiakkas said two women nearby helped her afterward, and she thanked them for their kindness during the distressing moment. Meanwhile, Seann competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 where he was partnered with professional dancer Katya Jones. The comedian's time on the show was overshadowed by controversy after he was photographed kissing Katya, who was married at the time, during a night out. The incident caused a media frenzy, leading to public apologies from both Walsh and Jones. Seann later revealed the fallout had a lasting impact on his mental health and career. Despite the drama, the pair continued in the competition for several more weeks before being eliminated. The scandal remains one of the most talked-about moments in the show's history.

Clarkson's Farm fans devastated as Kaleb Cooper shares 'soul destroying' news
Kaleb Cooper has taken to social media to share devastating news Kaleb Cooper, the 27-year-old farming sensation, has taken to Instagram with a heavy heart to reveal that thieves have made off with his farm machinery. In a brazen overnight heist, culprits swiped one of his tractors and a post knocker, essential for driving fence posts into the ground. A gutted Kaleb posted this morning: "My post knocker was stolen last night, as well as the John Deere tractor. Can we please make this as hot as possible? What is going on with England at the moment?" The theft occurred on Fulmer Lane, prompting Kaleb to use his social media clout to spread the word and enlist public help, sharing contact details for any sightings of the stolen kit. His online community rallied in the comments, extending their support to the TV star. One sympathiser wrote: "Sorry to hear that mate. A friend of mine who owns a garden centre had their digger nicked last night, and another friend had their two 16 ft trailers nicked the week before. I saw two different companies had vans done over last week, totalling something like £50k worth of tools. It's soul-destroying!" Another expressed shock: "The mankiller 9000? ! Jesus, I hope they get caught. Stealing from farmers is such a wildly despicable move," reports the Express. Someone else commented, echoing the sentiment of hope: "I really hope that everything will be found." Yet another added, "I really hope that everything will be found and the thieves will be brought to justice!" Puzzled by the audacity of the crime, one person asked, "How does one take something so big and no one notices?" One irate fan vented: "Who the f**k would steal a tractor from a world-famous farm... The attention alone makes it a case for the Police to investigate fully and follow up on, lest they be eviscerated on a show with global reach." This distressing revelation follows Kaleb's recent announcement about expecting his third child in just a month's time. Kaleb initially announced his pregnancy on This Morning in May, receiving warm wishes from hosts Cat Deely and Ben Shephard. During the live chat, Kaleb humorously remarked: "The third child is due in August, so I think I may be the most fertile man in Chipping Norton."

Surrey teacher banned for downloading indecent images of children
A teacher employed at a Surrey school for 20 years has been banned from the profession after downloading hundreds of indecent images of children, following a decision by the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA). Nicholas James Heuvel taught at Box Hill School in Mickleham and while working as a teacher, between January 2016 and January 2018, he downloaded and/or was in possession of up to 224 indecent images of children on his 22 and 23 October 2017, he searched for indecent images of children on the internet. On 15 July this year, a TRA panel issued a prohibition order to the 68-year-old, prohibiting him from teaching in England "indefinitely". In a report, the TRA wrote that Heuvel had accepted a simple police caution on 30 September 2021 for making 222 Category C images of children, one Category B image of a child and one Category A image of a child - the most serious classification - in Dorking on 23 January report added Heuvel had been referred to the TRA on 7 December report stated that on 16 December 2024, Heuvel had admitted to all the offences from 2016 to 2018, and in 2021, by signing a statement of agreed facts to all the started working at Box Hill School in 1997 until his resignation in panel said the decision to ban Heuvel from teaching was "both proportionate and appropriate". The TRA report stated: "The period of time which Mr Heuvel used specific search terms to access indecent images of children was a significant factor in forming that opinion along with the risk of repetition which the panel considered was high due to Mr Heuvel's lack of insight and/or remorse into his actions and the impact that his actions had on children."The panel said it was satisfied Heuvel's conduct amounted to "misconduct of a serious nature which fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession".The panel added public confidence in the teaching profession "could be seriously weakened" if Heuvel's conduct "was not treated with the utmost seriousness when regulating the conduct of the profession". When asked about the time it took for the TRA to issue the prohibition order, a spokesperson for the Department of Education (DfE) said it "does not comment on individual cases". It added this included "identifying the referring party or confirming whether a prohibition order has been appealed"."The duration of an investigation depends on various factors, some of which are outside of TRA's control, including the timely provision of information by third parties, and the availability of parties which are required to attend a hearing," it added."The TRA has taken extensive steps to increase capacity to ensure the timely conclusion of cases which has enabled it to deliver a record number of misconduct hearings." Under the ban order, Heuvel is "prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children's home in England".
