Gurmeet Choudhary is feeling proud and grateful after receiving the Bihar Gaurav Award from the state government. The actor, who became famous for playing Lord Rama in Ramayan, shared photos from the event on Instagram. He also thanked everyone for supporting him from the start of his career and wrote that he'll always be a 'proud Bihari." Gurmeet was born in Jairampur village in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
Gurmeet Choudhary was given the Bihar Gaurav Award by Cabinet Minister and former actor Chirag Paswan, along with the Governor of Bihar, Shri Arif Mohammed Khan. Sharing some glimpses from the event, the actor wrote, 'Shabdo se nahin, karmo se pehchaan banate hain – hum Bihari. Honoured to receive the Bihar Gaurav Award from Chirag Paswan ji @ichiragpaswan and The Governor of Bihar shri Arif Mohammed Khan ji, in my home state. Felt truly special accepting this recognition."

Gurmeet rose to fame for playing Lord Rama in Ramayan, and later became well known for his roles as Maan Singh Khurana in Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi and Yash in Punar Vivaah – Zindagi Milegi Dobara.
