Where The Broom Cupboard's Andy Crane is now and unrecognisable new look
Popular presenter Andy Crane is best known for his debut on children's TV programme The Broom Cupboard which is 39 years old - but what is the TV personality doing now?
Andy, now 61, has been brightening up people's days on Greatest Hits Radio since 2019 and he looks very different from his Broom Cupboard days.
He first appeared on TV in 1986, taking over from Phillip Schofield on BBC's Broom. The show, which helped launch the careers of Andi Peters, Toby Anstis and Zoe Ball, featured stars in a control desk room as the presenters introduced the programs.
The 61-year-old, who was one of the most memorable presenters on show, was just 29 at the time and worked alongside puppet Gordon, who went on to join him on Going Live! the next year.
He continued with Broom until 1990 and then featured on major music show Top of the Pops. He was also the face of Bad Influence! and Violet Berlin in the 90s.

But his impressive career didn't stop there. Andy also presented children's show, Motormouth, for ITV on Saturdays. He also featured on What's Up Doc? and Challenge TV.
The star was also a news presenter for Channel M in Manchester. He is now residing in the picturesque location of Lake District, reports Rayo.
Before joining Greatest Hits Radio in 2019, Andy presented for Radio Manchester where he started off as a tea boy.
Speaking about how he got the role, he said: "I wrote to Piccadilly Radio in Manchester when I was living in the USA – they wrote back! Started there as a tea boy in 1981 and did my first show in 1983 which means I've now been doing this for 35 years."
Andy, who was born in the seaside town of Morecambe, Lancashire, presents three hours of the best songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s on Greatest Hits Radio, including The Top 10 at 10 and Midnight Music Marathon.
Luckily for his fans, he also appears on radiowaves on weekday afternoons - featuring the most groovy disco tunes for Greatest Hits Radio 70s. He says his listeners will hear: "Great music naturally and plenty of laughing."
Earlier this year, the presenter revealed what he loves about his job the most: "Being invited into people's homes, cars, bedrooms and bathrooms."

Carol Kirkwood, 63, confesses there is 'no such thing as a perfect romance' after revealing her plans to retire and travel Europe with her husband Steve Randall, 49
has confessed there is 'no such thing as a perfect romance' after revealing she plans to retire in two years and her and travel Europe with her husband Steve Randall. The BBC weather veteran, 63, married police officer Steve, 49, in December 2023 - nine years after her divorce from property developer Jimmy Kirkwood. And now she has admitted that she thinks there is no such thing as the 'perfect romance' as she opened up about her divorce to the Daily Mirror. She told the publication: 'I feel sad when relationships break down. I was married before, and we got divorced, and it's always sad when that happens. 'But, of course, there isn't such a thing, I don't think, as the perfect romance - where you're never going to fall out or have cross words. Of course you are, that's life.' Carol and Steve - who have a 13-year age gap - got hitched in an 'intimate' wedding ceremony in Buckinghamshire in December 2023. Her comment comes after she revealed she hopes to retire in as little as two years so she can drive off into the sunset with her policeman husband. The TV star has been a fixture at the BBC for 27 years but has said she is planning a change of scene for her and Steve when she turns 65. Discussing her retirement hopes, Carol, who is also a published author, said: 'We fell in love with Majorca, which is where we went so I could research my fifth novel, Meet Me at Sunset, about a woman running away from a shattered love affair. 'Steve and I plan to escape and travel for some time when we retire, perhaps in a year or two. 'We'll travel in a camper van or get in the car, cross over to France and then just drive.' Carol, from Morar, Lochaber, was married to property developer Jimmy but the pair split in 2008 after 18 years of marriage, with the divorce finalised in 2012. She recently made a cheeky comment when asked about her second marriage, telling one newspaper: 'Love is lovelier the second time around. No disrespect to my first husband, but this is better.' Carol, who was on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, began her career at the BBC as a secretary before cross training with the Met Office and joining BBC News in 1998. She appears regularly across all of BBC Weather's output on both radio and TV and is the main weather presenter on BBC Breakfast. The TV star also spoke about the age gap in her relationship, stating it makes no difference to her. She told Saga Magazine: 'Steve is 50 this year. Other people's opinions about an age gap don't matter - I don't feel he is younger than me.' She also said she believes that meeting him was fate. She said: 'We were at a function neither of us wanted to go to. It was a Sliding Doors moment - if I hadn't gone, we would never have met.' Discussing her relationship in another interview, she said: 'Love is lovelier the second time around. 'The wedding was the most perfect day. Storm Gerrit was raging outside and we didn't even notice. 'It was about us getting married rather than having a big, fancy wedding. We had no guests and wrote our own vows. 'When you are older, you know more what you want.'

Birmingham: Rock and heavy metal fans to unite for Ozzy memorial
Hundreds of rock and heavy metal fans will gather together to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne in Birmingham on Saturday.A memorial meet-up will be held in Victoria Square at 13:00 BST, and they have been invited to share their stories about the Black Sabbath singer, who died on Tuesday at the age of 76. Ozzy fans are also expected to visit shrines across the city on the day, including Black Sabbath Bridge, the mural of the band on Navigation Street, and the Working Class Hero exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Organiser Ash Farley, from Bartley Green, said 1,500 people have shown interest in the memorial event, with 200 fans already confirmed to attend. He told the BBC how "heartbroken" he was over the Sabbath star's death. "It was the effect he had on my life. I know people in Birmingham feel the same way - all over the world."I thought the best thing to do was gather people from far and wide, talk about the stories and concerts they've visited, and spread positivity about it all."The head metal fan posted the event on Facebook on Tuesday evening, shortly after Birmingham-born Ozzy's death was announced. He said: "It was unbelievable. I'm gobsmacked at how many people have got in contact with me. "People are coming from as far as Bristol and Wales to share the memories - share the good times that they've experienced with Ozzy, Sabbath and all-around metal music."Speaking about a fitting tribute the city could install to commemorate the star, he suggested an Ozzy statue outside Birmingham Children's Hospital to reflect his charity work. He added: "Ozzy was true to himself; he always loved Birmingham, it was his home. "He's always been a man of the people."Fans also want to rename Birmingham Airport after the singer as a way to honour him. A petition, with nearly 14,000 signatures so far, said the move would recognise his "undeniable" influence on music and culture. The petition stated: "Naming our international airport after him would be a fitting tribute to his extraordinary career and contributions to the arts." Artist Mr Murals returned to Navigation Street to add to the iconic Black Sabbath mural. He is in the process of adding an image of them from their farewell performance at Villa Park earlier this month. Mr Murals, who has previously painted Ozzy in black and white, told the BBC: "This image is one of the last images of them together from the gig. "I started it a couple of weeks ago but didn't get to finish it in time. Since then, with Ozzy passing, it's heartbreaking. "The mural will be finished on Saturday, with Ozzy and Tony Iommi left to complete. The artist said he would have finished the mural sooner, but has been inundated with fans wanting to stop and talk about the said: "You can see how much he meant to people. There are people here from New Zealand this morning that still haven't gone back since the gig. "I didn't give the same appreciation to Ozzy fans that have grown up with him and supported him his whole life. "In the short time I've been painting this and having them engage in the posts online - you can't really beat that." Follow BBC Birmingham on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X and Instagram.
