Fahadh Faasil recalls the first Tamil movie he watched in theaters, reveals Rajinikanth memories, prepares for 'Vettaiyan' twists, and prepares for the 'Maareesan' release

Directed by Sudheesh Shankar, the film 'Maareesan,' starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu , will be released in theaters on Friday, July 25th. The film is a road trip story with a gentle and emotional tone. The two travel by bike from Nagercoil to Tiruvannamalai and from there to Coimbatore, which changes their lives. Fahadh Faasil, a thief, sees Vadivelu traveling with a bag full of money on the way. However, Fahadh Faasil's plans are thrown into disarray when he has to travel with Vadivelu, who often speaks out of memory. The center of the story is what happens to them on that journey and how it changes their lives. Fahadh recalls skipping college to watch Rajinikanth 's 'Baasha.' In an interview with 'The Hollywood Reporter India,' Fahadh Faasil shared his first Tamil film experience. 'The first Tamil film I watched after bunking my college class was 'Baasha,' starring Rajini sir. Every scene in the film is beautifully crafted. I especially liked the scene where Thangachi gets college admission," said Fahadh Faasil. "In that scene, when he says, 'I got admission,' and his sister asks, the way Rajini sir says, 'I told the truth,' in a close-up shot, really amazed me. I was surprised by how he acted as if he was talking to the audience,' he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Gold Is Surging in 2025 — Smart Traders Are Already In IC Markets Learn More Undo Fahadh Faasil also shared that he had learned Tamil through Tamil friends from Coimbatore and had enjoyed many Tamil films. Fahadh Faasil chose 'Patrick' in 'Vettaiyan' over another role. Fahadh Faasil also opened up about working with Rajinikanth in 'Vettaiyan' and said that "TJ Gnanavel approached me about playing a different role in the film Vettaiyan at the very beginning. But I chose the role of 'Patrick' because I clicked with it after hearing the story. Since this decision was a last-minute change for TJ Gnanavel, he had to make some changes. I didn't want the story to affect me, so I went with it as written," he said. Fahadh Faasil also revealed that he decides which role he will play when he talks in person.
