Neha Mehta Is ‘Open To Return' To Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma

News18a day ago
Following Neha Mehta's departure from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Sunayana Fozdar stepped into the role of Anjali Mehta.
For over 15 years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been a staple of Indian television, bringing endless laughter and entertainment to its dedicated audience. Despite its long run, the show remains a beloved favourite, with its cast of quirky characters and humorous storylines. However, behind the scenes, the show has seen several cast changes over the years, including the departure of Neha Mehta, who charmed viewers as Anjali Mehta.
In a candid interview with Telly Masala, Neha Mehta, who played the cherished role of Anjali Mehta, expressed her willingness to reprise her character in the show. When asked if she misses her co-stars, Neha responded warmly, 'Miss nahi karti, sadev mere hriday mai hai, channel on karo, TV on karo, mai vaha hu voh yaha hai (I don't miss them. They are always in my heart. I switch on the channel and TV, I can see them)."
Regarding the possibility of rejoining the programme, Neha said, 'Asit (Asit Modi) sir bolenge toh unke liye sab kuch kar lungi. (If Asit sir says, I will do everything for him)." Her words imply a deep affection for the show and its creator.
Neha Mehta expressed her willingness to return as Anjali Mehta, stating she would love to come back if her audience requests it. In the same conversation, she added, 'Audience ke liye sab kuch kar lungi. Meri audience agar bole aap bano Anjali Mehta vapis toh mai bann jaungi. Vaise toh mai hu hi. Toh uljano mai fasna Neha Mehta ka kaam hi nahi hai. Voh toh behti rehti hai (I would do anything for the audience. I will be Anjali Mehta again if my audience asks. Although I am already here. So, getting caught up in complications is not Neha Mehta's style. She just flows)." Her words demonstrate her dedication to her fans and a flexible attitude towards her craft.
Neha Mehta's exit from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2020 left fans stunned. According to the actress, the reason for her departure was payment issues. In an interview with Bombay Times, Neha revealed, 'I acted in Taarak Mehta as Anjali for 12 years before quitting in 2020. The last six months' money is pending."
She further shared, 'After I quit the show, I called them a few times regarding my pending dues. I don't like complaining… hopefully, there will be a solution soon and I will receive my hard-earned money." Despite her remarks, there has been no update on the matter since.

Saiyaara Day 1 Box Office: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's intense love story flirts with excellent Rs 20 crore opening

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer Saiyaara turned out to be the biggest surprise at the box office. Crafted by Mohit Suri's magic, Saiyaara debuted with a sensational opening. Saiyaara flirts with a banger Rs 20 crore opening on Day 1 The musical romantic drama, bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, recorded a phenomenal occupancy throughout the day. According to estimates, the Mohit Suri film has registered an excellent opening, with a net collection of around Rs 19 crore to Rs 20 crore at the Indian box office. The movie has not only emerged as the biggest opener of Mohit Suri's career, surpassing Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, but also given a dream launch pad to Ahaan and Aneet. It surpassed the opening day collections of Jaat, Sitaare Zameen Par, Sky Force, and Raid 2, securing the fourth spot among the top 10 biggest openers of 2025. The movie remained behind Chhaava, Sikandar, and Housefull 5. Interestingly, no Indian film featuring debutantes has scored a double-digit opening in the last 25 years, when considered in terms of real value. The response that Ahaan Panday's film is getting at the box office was earlier seen with Hrithik Roshan 's Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and Abhishek Bachchan's Refugee, both released in 2000. Saiyaara targets a blockbuster verdict, set for a terrific weekend The intense love story, targeting the Gen Z audience, has found immense love and appreciation on its opening day. The movie met with a positive response from the audience, which instantly translated into solid spot bookings. It is now set for a terrific opening weekend, as the movie has the potential to record big jumps over Saturday and Sunday. Based on current trends, Saiyaara should aim for an opening weekend of at least Rs 65-70 crore net at the Indian box office. The movie is expected to easily cross the Rs 100 crore mark in its opening week, provided it holds well on weekdays. Saiyaara will face Son Of Sardaar 2 and Fantastic Four: First Steps from next weekend. However, the movie is expected to perform well in its second weekend as well, potentially denting the business of the other two releases. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

NTR's Power-Packed Line-Up: War 2 And Dragon Have Trade Analysts Buzzing - One Of The Strongest For 2025-26

New Delhi: NTR, the man of the masses, has firmly cemented his place as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema. With his magnetic screen presence, powerful performances, and unmatched charisma, he continues to be a force to reckon with. After captivating global audiences with RRR, the superstar is now gearing up for two of the biggest releases of 2025 and 2026. First up is War 2, marking his much-awaited Bollywood debut in YRF's highly successful spy universe. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film will see NTR face off against Hrithik Roshan in an electrifying showdown. Also starring Kiara Advani, War 2 is slated for a grand Independence Day release on August 14, 2025, and promises NTR in full power mode. Following that, he headlines Dragon, directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in collaboration with NTR Arts. This action-packed venture is already being touted as one of the biggest films of 2026 and is set to hit theatres on June 25, 2026. A well-known trade analyst shared the excitement on social media, saying, 'YRF's War 2 and a film with Prashanth Neel wow! NTR probably has one of the strongest and most exciting line-ups for 2025-26. While War 2 will certainly be one of the biggest films of 2025, his next with Neel is already gaining massive buzz for 2026. Very strong momentum!' Beyond these two blockbusters, NTR is reportedly collaborating with director Trivikram Srinivas on a mythological drama. If reports are to be believed, NTR might portray the revered deity Lord Karthikeya (also known as Murugan), adding yet another exciting layer to his already dynamic filmography. The excitement among fans is at an all-time high, and rightly so—two massive films, one superstar, and a line-up that's setting the trade circuits ablaze. NTR seems unstoppable.
