Nawazuddin Siddiqui Offers A Glimpse Inside ‘Nawab': His Nostalgic, Self-Designed Dream Home In Mumbai

News186 days ago
Nawazuddin Siddiqui's self-designed bungalow 'Nawab' beautifully blends vintage charm with personal memories from his childhood in Budhana.
From sharing cramped quarters with multiple roommates in Mumbai's Goregaon during his struggling years to now residing in a palatial bungalow, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's journey has come full circle. Five years ago, the acclaimed actor fulfilled a long-held dream by building his own three-storey mansion in Versova's Yari Road, which he lovingly named 'Nawab' after his late father, Nawabuddin Siddiqui. The luxurious home is more than just bricks and mortar—it's a heartfelt tribute to his childhood home in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh.
In a recent video tour shared on Nayandeep Rakshit's YouTube channel, Nawazuddin welcomed viewers into his personal sanctuary, a space that reflects both his artistic soul and deep-rooted nostalgia.
Muted Tones, Theatre Posters, and a Splash of Red
Kicking off the tour in the living room, the space was a study in restraint, dominated by earthy tones like cream, beige, and warm browns. 'I always envisioned an old-world charm—something that reminded me of colonial-era homes," Nawazuddin said when asked about his design aesthetic. 'People gift me art, but I rarely hang them unless they match the room's palette. I prefer buying pieces that blend with the tone of the house."
A bold pop of colour stood out in the form of a vivid red pool table. 'I play occasionally, but it's mostly for my guests," he chuckled.
Adorning the walls were posters of iconic theatrical characters—Hamlet, Othello, Romeo—roles Nawazuddin once embodied during his time at the National School of Drama. 'These remind me of my roots. I wanted the house to echo those NSD days. That hunger to learn, to stay grounded. You won't find a single movie poster here," he revealed.
Three Floors of Personal Passions
The house spans three levels, each tailored to different aspects of Nawazuddin's personal and professional life. The ground floor features a spacious hall and a private mini-theatre with plush brown couches and a large screen. The room opens into a balcony that overlooks a serene green patch. 'I love colourful flowers. That corner was inspired by the Romeo and Juliet balcony. I wanted it to feel like a piece of theatre," he said with a smile.
Upstairs, his personal makeup room is designed like a traditional green room—wood-panelled flooring and walls, and a large mirror framed by vanity lights. 'Whenever I have a shoot, I get ready here. It keeps me in the zone," he shared.
He also revealed a compact home gym tucked away inside the house. 'I'm not exactly a fitness buff, but I built it anyway," he laughed.
In a touching moment, Nawazuddin pointed out a framed certificate—his daughter's acting distinction from a London workshop. 'She's obsessed with acting," he said proudly.
Where Memory Meets Mastery
True to its inspiration, the bungalow is dotted with vintage architectural features—arched doorways, carved wooden pillars, railings, and patterned flooring that harken back to his village home. The final part of the tour featured a grand staircase, the walls lined with his numerous awards and accolades—a quiet nod to his career journey.
However, Nawazuddin was quick to note, 'I don't work for trophies. But I am thankful to have received them."
In every detail, from layout to lighting, 'Nawab' is not just a home—it's a narrative. A space that reflects Nawazuddin Siddiqui's artistry, humility, and enduring connection to his roots.

Kajol cheers for daughter Nysa Devgan as she graduates, netizens say ‘Anjali from K3G energy' — WATCH

Bollywood couple Kajol and Ajay Devgn's daughter Nysa Devgan is now a graduate. The star kid attended the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Montreux, Switzerland. A clip from her graduation ceremony has surfaced online on Saturday as Kajol attended her daughter's graduation and cheered loudly for her 'baby.' Nysa's graduation ceremony was telecast live on YouTube. A clip from the live session has surfaced online, featuring Nysa. Dressed in the traditional graduation robe over a lilac dress, she was spotted smiling as she walked onto the stage to receive her degree from her teachers. While some are heard cheering for her, it was Kajol who was the loudest of all. Kajol is heard screaming, "Come on baby." Even Nysa's teachers couldn't resist from passing a giggle at Kajol's excitement. Sharing the video on X, formerly Twitter, someone wrote, "Congratulations Nysa!!! (In the chaos of 100s I can actually hear Kajol's "C'mon babyyyy!!" So clearly )." Kajol's reaction immediately reminded fans of her character Anjali from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. 'She's truly the real life anjali. 'haaye… meri beti' (sic)," commented a fan. Another added, 'This is so Anjali from K3g energy.' Someone also said, 'It's the Anjali in her.' It is not known if Ajay Devgn joined Kajol and Nysa at their daughter's graduation. The Raid 2 actor is yet to post about Nysa's graduation. Nysa Devgan previously studied in Singapore at the United World College of South East Asia, before moving to Switzerland to pursue her undergraduate degree. While Nysa is Ajay and Kajol's first child, they also have a son, Yug Devgan. Yug is currently completing his school. Meanwhile, it is not certain if Nysa will make her debut in Bollywood after finishing her graduation. Kajol and Ajay have repeatedly stated that Nysa is not interested in joining the industry as of yet. Talking about Nysa, recently Kajol told Zoom: 'When I look at her, I feel, my God, she is the woman we all want to be. It is this amazing quality which today's girls have that they expect to be treated well. They expect to be treated with the same dignity. They expect good manners. If you are not there, they call you out.' "I am very proud of her. I have said that to her as well. I am proud of the fact that she carries herself with so much dignity and grace. I think it is always a test of your character when you are faced with uncomfortable situations, and how you react to them. It shows your true mettle. I am proud of my upbringing and my daughter," the actor also said.
