Sophie Ellis-Bextor surprises newlyweds by 'gate-crashing' County Mayo wedding
The upload dubbed the star as the "best wedding crasher ever". Not only did the star's surprise performance earn praise, but also her singing voice. Viewers of the video were taken aback by how fantastic the Murder on the dance floor singer still sounds. The party at The Lodge at Ashford Castle, County Mayo was elevated when Sophie Ellis-Bextor turned up for a rendition of her 2001 hit.
The songwriter, who is set to release her new album Perimenopop later this year, made a surprise appearance at the wedding. A post from Jennifer Gillespie captured the moment Ellis-Bextor showed up for the wedding.
Jennifer would later say it took a "serious bit of wedding luck" to get Ellis-Bextor, who just happened to be performing at another wedding in County Mayo, Ireland, at the time, involved.
One TikTok user asked: "How does one get their wedding to be crashed by Sophie Ellis-Bextor?" Jennifer responded: "Right place, right time and a serious bit of wedding luck."
Jennifer continued to say Ellis-Bextor was "such good fun" and her "kind" gesture has been well received by the public. She added: "Sophie topped off the most perfect day. Huge thank you to everyone at The Lodge for helping make my sisters day so magical!"
Admirers of the performer have subsequently commended her for turning up and singing at a wedding unexpectedly. One person commented: "Every time I see any clips of Sophie Ellis-Bextor singing live she sounds phenomenal.
"She has a beautiful, pure voice. I'm not what you'd call a big fan but I guess I am now as every time I hear her I think she's fantastic! It's so effortless. Congratulations to you guys too!!"

Jennifer revealed additional details about how Ellis-Bextor came to be at the wedding, explaining that the vocalist was attending a different celebration at the same location.
She commented: "She was staying in the hotel and had just played at another wedding in the castle! She had also played Galway International Arts Festival during the week."
In another response, Jennifer continued: "Sophie was playing at another wedding in Ashford Castle that night and staying in The Lodge, one of the guests spotted her in the lobby singing along when her song came on and asked her to come out and sing which she was kind enough to do. She made the bride and grooms night."

Hollyoaks live tour AXED over low ticket sales ahead of 30th anniversary
HOLLYOAKS live tour has been sensationally axed - after low ticket sales. Tickets were being offered for as much as £161 for a meet and greet ticket with the cast. A source said: 'The promoter massively over-estimated the appeal a live stage show would have to Hollyoaks' core audience. Read more on Hollyoaks 'The ticket prices were incredibly high for a show that's popular with teenagers . 'The decision was made to pull the tour rather than have a loss-making venture with empty theatres.' Fans who purchased tickets will be contacted soon with the news and be offered refunds at the point of purchase. The Sun understands the shows were not organised by Hollyoaks' production company or Channel 4 and both companies had limited involvement.
