Ragini Khanna admits a Koffee With Karan episode with Govinda would be ‘embarrassing but iconic': 'It would be a very discomforting...'
What happens when you mix family ties with
Karan Johar
's infamous couch? According to Ragini Khanna—plenty of awkwardness and iconic moments. The television star recently admitted that while she'd love to appear on
Koffee With Karan
alongside her uncle,
Govinda
, the episode would likely be 'embarrassing' and 'discomforting' due to their formal relationship.
Still, she believes their contrasting personalities would make it unmissable content.
Too formal for the couch
When asked whether she'd rather take on a dance challenge with Govinda or appear on Koffee With Karan alongside him,
Ragini Khanna
leaned toward the latter—but with a twist. In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, she admitted that the idea of sharing the couch with her uncle would be extremely awkward and far from their usual dynamic, which is formal and reserved.
Describing their relationship as more traditional and respectful, she felt the personal and probing questions typical of the show would make the episode deeply discomforting and embarrassing for both.
Still, she joked, it would likely make for entertaining content, given Govinda's knack for reading between the lines.
Earlier in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Ragini slammed the assumption that being related to Govinda gave her an advantage in the industry.

She pointed out that while Govinda is a huge star, she isn't his daughter and doesn't enjoy the same privileges. Expressing affection for his children, Tina (Narmada) and Yashvardan Ahuja, she said they are like friends to her—but highlighted a clear double standard in the industry.
According to Ragini, if someone suggested Tina or Yash take up television roles, they probably wouldn't, but someone like her would be expected to.
She added that this mindset needs to change, questioning why television is still viewed as a step down from films.

Meet actress who spent nights on road, faced casting couch at 16, was once under huge debt, her name is...
From being a household name on TV to battling silent storms offscreen, Rashami Desai recently revealed a painful chapter of her life on Paras Chhabra's podcast. With tears in her voice, she recalled a time when she had no roof over her head and had to sleep in her Audi A6. 'I had bought a house and was under a Rs 2.5 crore loan. In total, my debt was around Rs 3.25–3.5 crore,' she shared. 'Things felt stable, but suddenly my show was pulled off the air.' What happened during those dark four days? Rashami moved out of her home, kept her luggage at her manager's house, and chose not to involve her family. For four days, she lived out of her car—alone and struggling. 'I would eat like rickshaw drivers, food worth Rs 20,' she confessed. She added, 'I realised in those days that I had never made myself a priority. I always put work, people, and expectations first.' Did she face danger early in her career? Yes. Rashami also revisited a shocking incident from her teenage years. 'When I was 16, I had gone for an audition. They tried to make me unconscious there. I ran from that place,' she told Bollywood Bubble in 2024. She began her acting journey with B-grade films, but TV gave her the identity she longed for. From working with Sidharth Shukla to Sreejita De, she became a familiar face in Indian households. How did she bounce back? 'I did many shows, cleared my debts,' she said. But it came at a cost. 'I didn't sleep. I was full of stress inside, but I didn't let it show. I used to think, What kind of life is this? It would be better to just die.' Today, she's standing tall—but her story is a reminder: not every celebrity success is glossy behind the scenes.

"It made me an icon": Sharon Stone on her infamous 'Basic Instinct' leg-crossing scene
"It made me an icon": Sharon Stone on her infamous 'Basic Instinct' leg-crossing scene Actress and film producer Sharon Stone shared that she had the legal right to remove her leg-crossing scene from the 1992 movie, 'Basic Instinct', but chose not to, reported People. The controversial scene featured Stone, who played the role of crime novelist Catherine Tramell alongside Michael Douglas (Detective Nick Curran), crossing her legs while being questioned, revealing that she wasn't wearing underwear. "I very much believe that none of us knew at the time what we were getting in regard to that shot, and when Paul [Verhoeven] got it, he didn't want to lose it, and he was scared to show me. And I get that," recalled Stone. "Once I had time to calm down, I didn't make him take it out of the movie when I had the legal right to," she said, adding, "So I did have the chance to do it differently, and I didn't because once I had the chance to step back, I understood, as the director, not the girl in the film, that that made the movie better." Although having claimed in 2023 that she lost custody of her son following her role in Basic Instinct, Stone revealed that she has no hard feelings, reported People. "It made me an icon, but it didn't bring me respect. But would I do it again? We don't get to make these choices in life. I don't participate in the fantasy world in this way," she said. "What I did with what happened is exactly the way I wanted to do it. Verhoeven and I have a wonderful relationship," Stone added, 'Basic Instinct' is set to get a reboot, with the film's original writer, Joe Eszterhas, penning the script. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Elegant New Scooters For Seniors In 2024: The Prices May Surprise You Mobility Scooter | Search Ads Learn More Undo Stone previously said that making the iconic film took a toll on everyone involved. " Paul Verhoeven [director] ended up in the hospital--his sinus thing ruptured, and he couldn't stop having a nosebleed," she said. "There was tremendous pressure on that set." "Now people walk around showing their penises on Netflix, but in the olden days, what we were doing was very new," she continued. "This was a feature film for a major studio, and we had nudity, sex, homosexuality, all these things that, in my era, were breaking norms," she added, reported People.
