Shoppers swap Dyson and Shark vacuums for cheaper model with 'good suction'
Amazon has reduced the price of one of its best-selling vacuums that shoppers have likened to expensive models from Dyson and Shark. The Ultenic U20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner typically retails for £239.99 but is on sale right now for £149.99.
The cordless vacuum cleaner has a 600W brushless motor and advanced noise reduction technology, promising to operate 40% quieter than traditional models. The floor brush features a four-layer design: stiff bristles (collecting carpet hair), V-shaped silicone flaps (deeper cleaning), soft PP bristles (captures fine dust particles), and durable nylon (removes pet hair and prevents tangling).
Ultenic's U20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has an extendable arm to get in hard-to-reach areas such as beneath low furniture. The floor brush is made with an integrated green light to reveal hidden dust.
Over at Shark, consumers can find reductions on bundle deals. For instance, this Classic Upright Cleaning Bundle includes a corded upright vacuum cleaner, with two floor modes, and a corded floor mop with three settings. Usually £369.98, it is on sale for £281.
Dyson also has some deals on at the moment, including a sale on its best-selling V11 Advanced vacuum. It has been reduced by £80, now offered for £349.99, from £429.99.
Consumers hoping to buy a robot vacuum can save £160 on Shark's Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Cordless Robot Vacuum Cleaner & Mop at Argos. The retailer is selling it for £240, down from £400. The same offer was also available on Shark's website; however, the device is currently out of stock.
Ultenic's U20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has an overall customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 from Amazon shoppers and more than 1,000 reviews. One person described it as a 'lovely vacuum' with 'good suction', continuing: "I have always had a Dyson or Shark. But this is a great alternative, and to be honest, I think it is better than my Shark one."
Another said they were 'far very pleased with it'. Before adding: "To try it out, I started vacuuming the house (I had already done it the day before) and couldn't believe how much dust, etc it picked up. The lights on it let you see where the dust is."
The same shopper continued: "It is excellent on the stairs, using it hand-held and the pull-out brush. Having previously had a Dyson and a Shark I would say this cleaner is better. Great that it stands upright too. Coped very well with picking up pet hair and did not get tangled in brush."
A few customers reported suction power problems, with one buyer saying: "Very lightweight and easy to set up. Battery life is accurately described. However, it is not a particularly powerful suction vacuum cleaner. You need to run over the same area several times to get a suitable clean."
An additional shopper said: "Having previously had a Shark cordless hoover, I was looking to replace like for like. However, having read all the positive reviews on the Ultenic U20, I decided to go for it. The Ultenic arrived the next day and was super easy to put together. It's lightweight with a decent-sized dust bin that's really easy to empty and clean."

"Happy with the battery life and it easy enough to use. Overall good value for money amongst a lot of other smart watch/fitness trackers that are out there." However, another user was frustrated that the watch didn't work when placed over tattoos. They said: "No heart readings [over my tattoos] so I had to change arms and have it point where there's no ink." Someone else complained about the GPS tracking, saying it was "very inaccurate and disconnected frequently" They added: "Would not recommend if your aim is to monitor distance on runs/bike rides etc." But a five-star reviewer hailed the Google Fitbit Charge 6 for playing a big part in their weight loss journey. They said: "From little movement to 10km every morning. The best buy I have made. "Reduced weight by 2.5 stones and feel fitter than I have for years. The watch didn't actually achieve this but 100% contributed toward it." Another satisfied customer wrote: "I really like Fitbits and this is my second watch as my old Charge 5 died in the pool. I am blown away! A really solid battery life as usual from Fitbit and lots of tracking features too! "Love the new workouts and Google Maps, and the obsidian black colour looks great. It also is really simple to use and turns on when you look at it automatically. "The price is quite reasonable because of the performance you are getting and the accurate heart rate. The watch's aluminium frame is durable just like the old Charge 5!" Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
