Braun epilator that makes 'skin smooth in no time' is cut by 57%
Hair removal can seem like an endless task, so it's no surprise there are a lot of products on the market that claim to help make it easier, but a lot of them come with a pretty hefty price tag. Until now, as one retailer adds discounts on devices in time for summer.
Amazon has cut the price of the Braun Silk-épil 9 Flex SkinSpa Epilator down to £159.99, a massive 57% saving from its usual price of £369.99. The product features a 360-degree flexible head, along with a mini shaver, exfoliation brush, massage pad, and can be used both wet and dry.
It's said to be able to cut hairs as short as 0.5mm, and that one use will achieve 'an entire month of smooth skin.' The head contains 40 tiny tweezers, and it can run for up to 50 minutes on one charge. It also has two modes - gentle and power.
If you're looking for an alternative, Boots has the Panasonic ES-EY90 five-in-one full body epilator kit for £134.99 - £65 down from its usual price of £199.99. It comes with a range of attachments, including a main epilation head with 'double-disc technology ', featuring 60 tweezers, able to cut hairs as short as 0.5mm.
It can be used wet or dry and also includes a bikini comb, gentle cap, sonic scrub brush, shaver head, pop-up trimmer, and foot care head. It also features a pressure centre and can run for up to 50 minutes on one charge.
If the idea of epilating doesn't appeal, LOOKFANTASTIC has a Silk'n 7 Light-Based Hair Removal Device for £349.30 - down 30 per cent from its usual price of £499. This can be used for the face and body, and includes three attachments, as well as a separate razor and a charging cable.
It works by using light to open the pores and remove hairs at the root. Going back to the Braun epilator, it has a 4.7 out of five rating on Amazon.
"It works better if you don't press too much on your skin, just gently and not too fast and your skin will be smooth in no time," said one customer.
"I absolutely love it and I'm so glad I got it for myself. No more fuss with the waxing or shaving and red spots."
Another said: "I love the way the head moves to your body as it gives you a much smoother finish.
"Epilators do hurt, however, if you're used to using an epilator ,I think you will find this a lot more comfortable. I also found the smart sensor helpful too." Another users branded it "game-changing".
However, some thought the effectiveness did not match its price: "It's uncomfortable to use and stings the legs for the rest of the day. Doesn't last one month, as after three days I had to shave my legs again.
"Comes with a bikini line shaver. I cannot justify the price for this product as £370 is extortionate for a product I can only describe as being a value of at most £100."

MIT's Light-Only AI Chip Could Supercharge Electric Vehicles

View post: Amazon Is Selling a 'Secure' $14 Car Phone Holder for 43% Off, and Shoppers Say It's 'By Far One of the Best' The only correct way to modify something as heinous as the XM is to lean into its absurdity. Imagine an EV that doesn't need a bulky cooling system for its brain. Imagine your car processing LiDAR data, high-res camera feeds, and driver monitoring in real time—without sipping a ton of juice from the battery. MIT's new light-only AI chip, which swaps electrons for photons, might just pull this off. This isn't a minor tweak in chip design. It's a potential industry earthquake. The chip runs on photons, meaning it processes data with light instead of electricity. Sounds like sci-fi, right? But the benefits are huge: 90 percent less power consumption, almost no heat generation, and computations that happen at, well, the speed of light. For EVs, which fight tooth and nail for every mile of range, this could be the difference between 300 miles and 350 miles on a single charge. Why This Matters for EVs Every modern EV has a digital nervous system that sucks energy. The AI stack — everything from lane-keeping assist to voice commands — relies on energy-hungry chips like NVIDIA's Drive platform. Even when the car's parked, these processors run diagnostics and software updates, quietly draining the battery. By providing your email address, you agree that it may be used pursuant to Arena Group's Privacy Policy. Swap those power-hogging silicon chips with something that barely sips energy? You free up power for the motor, heating, and air conditioning. Suddenly, EVs can be smarter and go further without strapping on a bigger, heavier battery pack. And it's not just about range. The photonic chip's speed could slash latency in autonomous driving. Maybe this is exactly what Tesla's Autopilot needs to work without killing people. Imagine your car spotting a cyclist darting across the road and responding faster than your reflexes. That's not marketing hype — that's rather some life-saving tech. The Autonomous Game-Changer Self-driving cars rely on billions of calculations per second. Traditional GPUs do the job, but they're power-hungry beasts that require liquid cooling and complex thermal management. A photonic AI chip can handle these calculations with barely any heat output, which means lighter systems, lower costs, and fewer points of failure. Even if photonic chips start as co-processors — handling vision or sensor fusion — they'll free up traditional CPUs and GPUs to handle the rest with more breathing room. The Catch There's always a catch. These chips are still in the lab, and automotive-grade hardware certification isn't exactly speedy. Cars need chips that can survive scorching heat, freezing temperatures, and years of vibration. Expect a timeline closer to 2027 before you see a production EV using this tech. Still, the writing's on the wall. The next wave of EV innovation won't just be about battery chemistry or charging speed. It'll be about making the brains of the car just as efficient as its brawn. This MIT breakthrough is a reminder that the EV arms race is far from over. Today, it's all about range anxiety. Tomorrow, it will be about how fast your car's AI can think without stealing electrons from the wheels. About the Author Brian Iselin View Profile

I use this at night and it leaves my skin hydrated and plump!" One shopper had reservations about the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum however writing: "I've been using this for a few nights now, not really noticed a difference as its early days but why doesn't it have a nice smell? I'm not impressed that they didn't factor a scent whilst developing this product with an astonishing price tag." However others love the serum, saying: "Keeps my skin feeling soft and looking younger; at 60 I need all the help I can get! If I don't use this serum as part of my bedtime routine my skin has more visible fine lines, texture appears drier, pores seem more obvious and it looks tired. Shoppers 'won't go back to Apple Watch' after using Fitbit Versa 4 with 'unbelievable' battery
The smartwatch's incredible charge is one of its key features, boasting six days or more of battery life. Smartwatches are a crucial part of everyday life for many of us. As well as telling the time, they help us monitor our steps, track our fitness, receive texts and calls, and record our workouts. Top tech brands have launched their own timepieces, with the Apple Watch SE 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 two popular models from big names. But another popular brand is Fitbit, which is known for having incredible battery life compared to its rivals. And the Google Fitbit Versa 4 even has shoppers saying they'll "never go back" to Apple. You can snap up this smartwatch at a £20 discount on Amazon, with it coming down to £128.99. The Versa 4 is available in four colours; waterfall blue, black, beet, and pink sand - with the latter two designs costing £126. As expected, the smartwatch's incredible charge is one of its key features, boasting six days or more of battery life. It is compatible with iOS 15 or higher and Android OS 9.0 or higher and allows users to get calls, texts, and notifications through Bluetooth. The water-resistant Versa 4 model has been "built for better fitness results," according to Amazon. It has a built-in GPS and workout intensity map, a daily readiness score, dozens of exercise modes, while also offering 24.7 heart-rate tracking and a daily sleep score. For anyone looking for something from one of the bigger names, the Apple Watch SE 2 can be snapped up for £219 on Amazon, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 is currently £279 at Argos, its lowest ever price. Shoppers on a budget may want to consider the Cillso Smart Watch. It is the number one best-seller for smartwatches on Amazon and is now just £23.99, down 82 per cent from £129.99. Back to the Google Fitbit Versa 4, it has a 4.3-rating from around 1,800 reviews and is a designated Amazon's Choice product, which means it is highly rated, well-priced, and available to ship immediately. One satisfied customer said: "I've had a fair few smart watches over the last year or so; Versa 2, Galaxy Watch 4, Apple Watch SE, and now this. I can honestly say I prefer this one over the rest. "The battery is unbelievable. From fully charged , I have worn it every day for around 9 to 10 hours including using at the gym, getting notifications, and using it to accept calls, and it is now a full week later and the battery is still on 40 per cent. Considering the Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch had to be charged every single day, this is amazing. "It's easy to understand unlike the apple watch when it comes to fitness tracking as it just gives you the info you want. Overall, after a year of searching for the perfect smart watch, this one is easily the perfect one for me." Another five-star reviewer hailed it as an excellent fitness tracker. They said: "In my opinion, a fitness watch should be a fitness watch, and not a mini phone on your wrist. I replaced my Apple Watch with this and would never go back. Tech deal of the week Shoppers keen to take their fitness to the next level would benefit from purchasing a smartwatch. One of which is on the popular Jugeman Smartwatch. Normally retailing for £99.99, shoppers can now snap up this 4.8 star rated gadget with the pink strap for only £22.79 in a limited time deal. Boasting a 1.92-inch HD touch screen, shoppers can truly make this smartwatch their own as it comes with over 220 personalised watch faces to choose from. Featuring an ultra lightweight design to provide a comfortable and relaxed fit, the smartwatch will monitor your heart rate throughout the day as well as analyse your sleep. On top of this, the budget watch can track over 113 sports and monitor how many calories you have burned. Shoppers will also be able to use a range of other features, such as music control, weather forecast, find my phone, as well as receive calls, texts and social media notifications One delighted shopper said: "I'm genuinely impressed with this smartwatch! It looks sleek and modern, and the bright display is easy to read even in daylight. The features are exactly what I need fitness tracking, notifications, heart rate monitoring, and more. "The orange strap adds a fun and sporty touch, and it's surprisingly comfortable to wear all day. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the battery life is better than expected. For the price, this watch offers outstanding value. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an affordable yet high-quality fitness tracker!" To buy the Jugeman Smartwatch, click HERE. "I also like the fact you can turn all notifications off so it just focuses on what it's supposed to do, tell the time and track your daily movements and fitness/activities." However, not all reviews were overwhelmingly positive. One person, who took issue with the strap and connectivity, said: "The Fitbit Versa 4 itself felt nice quality and lightweight but the strap for it is horrible, it felt so cheaply made, I replaced it with a nylon band which improved the feel but again for a premium product you shouldn't have to pay for new bands. "The versa 4 itself worked fine for about 4 days but then I started noticing issues, like it not syncing with the app, the gps would not connect at random times on the same walking routes and the touch screen would just stop working or it would turn off the option I had set to stay on." But others were delighted with their choice, with one saying: "I was deciding between the Fitbit Versa 4 and a Samsung smartwatch. Both covered everything I needed, with the Samsung offering a few extra bells and whistles. However, I kept coming back to the battery life. "With the Fitbit Versa 4, I haven't really had to worry about battery life — it lasts long enough, and it doesn't take much time to fully recharge. On the other hand, the Samsung was reported to last only around two days at best, and I knew I'd likely find it dead when I needed it or charging when I wanted to be active. "My main focus was the fitness and health features rather than the general "smart" functionalities, and after a few weeks of use, I'm glad I chose the Fitbit. It's easy to use, does all I need it to, synced smoothly with my other apps, and overall, I'm very happy with this purchase." Some shoppers kept their praise short but sweet. One person said: "Love it, I never take it off." While another added: "Great price, easy to set up. I love my watch." Get the Google Fitbit Versa 4 HERE.
