Kichcha Sudeep: 'Given the current uncertainty in Kannada cinema, I feel the need to bring out a film this year'
While Sudeep is already shooting Anup Bhandari's fantasy epic Billa Ranga Baasha, he wanted to simultaneously work on a film that could release sooner. Interestingly, the makers of K47 are targeting a December 25, 2025 release.
'Billa Ranga Baasha is a massive film with elaborate sets and world-building—it will take time. But in between, I wanted to give a film this year, and we hope K47 will be shot quickly. The goal is to release it by December 25 this year. This might seem impossible, but we'll give it everything. Given the current uncertainty in Kannada cinema, I feel the need to bring out a film this year.'

Rashmika Mandanna Says She's Open To Long Shoot Hours Amid Deepika Padukone's Spirit Row: 'Personal Choice'
Last Updated: Rashmika Mandanna reacts to ongoing debate on working hours amid Deepika Padukone's exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit. The conversation around long working hours in the Indian film industry continues to grow louder—and actor Rashmika Mandanna is the latest star to weigh in. Her comments come amid a wave of reactions following reports of Deepika Padukone's alleged fallout with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga over fixed work schedules on the now-shelved Spirit. Addressing the controversy, Mandanna spoke about the importance of clear communication before signing on to a film, during an interview with Mojo Story. 'Today the whole country is debating about flexible hours, but that is for discussion amongst the teams and figuring out what works for them. It's their personal choices," she said, stressing that mutual understanding within the team is key. The Animal actor also reflected on her cross-industry experience, pointing out how shooting schedules differ across regions. 'I do work in multiple industries, like the South – Telugu, Kannada, or Tamil, where we work 9 am to 6 pm. In Hindi, it's a 9 am to 9 pm shift. I am open to both because this is what my film requires," she shared. But she didn't shy away from addressing the more extreme side of filming schedules. 'Some films you can start 9 am to 9 pm, but they carry on till the next day, so you're working like 36 hours. There are much worse scenarios happening where you are working 2-3 days without going home," Mandanna revealed. Deepika Padukone-Sandeep Reddy Vanga Spirit Controversy The issue was recently brought to the forefront after reports surfaced that Deepika Padukone opted out of Spirit due to disagreements over her request for fixed hours. Deepika, a new mother, is reportedly seeking to balance her work and personal life by reducing her working hours. This decision led to her exit from the film, which would have been her second collaboration with Prabhas after their recent project, Kalki 2898 AD. The situation sparked industry-wide discussions about actor welfare and reasonable work conditions. Following Deepika's exit, Triptii Dimri was confirmed to play a part in the film. Mandanna, who worked with Vanga on the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, acknowledged the broader need for realistic expectations, especially in high-pressure shoots. Rashmika Mandanna was most recently seen in Kuberaa, which released on June 20. First Published:

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar co-star Sara Arjun once played alongside Salman Khan in Jai Ho; take a look
Ranveer Singh, 40, might be leading the charge in the upcoming action thriller Dhurandhar, but all eyes are on his co-star Sara Arjun — and for good reason. The 18-year-old actor, who will be seen sharing the screen with Ranveer for the first time, isn't exactly a newcomer. In fact, she's acted opposite another Bollywood giant, Salman Khan, long before Dhurandhar was even imagined. Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun and Salman Khan Yes, you read that right. Sara Arjun played the role of a schoolgirl in Jai Ho (2014), featuring Salman Khan in the lead. At the time, she was only a child, but already making waves in both Bollywood and the South film industries. Now, over a decade later, she's back in the spotlight, and this time, she's the leading lady. From child prodigy to pan-India performer Born on June 18, 2005, Sara Arjun is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun, known for Secret Superstar. By the time she was six, Sara had already starred in over 100 commercials. Her big break came in the Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal (2011), where she played the daughter of a mentally challenged father. She then went on to deliver powerful performances in Saivam (2014), Ek Thi Daayan (2013), Chithirayil Nilachoru (2013), and the acclaimed anthology Sillu Karuppatti (2019). More recently, audiences saw her portraying a younger version of Aishwarya Rai's character in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2 (2023). Dhurandhar: A big debut (again) Directed by Aditya Dhar (Uri: The Surgical Strike), Dhurandhar is being touted as one of the biggest action spectacles of 2025. Unveiled by Jio Studios and B62 Studios on Ranveer Singh's birthday, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. The high-octane first look is set to a pulsating soundtrack by Shashwat, featuring vocals by Jasmine Sandlas and a special collaboration with genre-blending artist Hanumankind. But while the film's visuals are grabbing attention, so is the casting. Sara's pairing with Ranveer Singh — who is nearly 20 years her senior — has raised eyebrows online. Some netizens have expressed surprise at the age gap, sparking a familiar conversation in Bollywood about onscreen pairings.

I think I'm the first one from my entire community to step into it."– #RashmikaMandanna — Whynot Cinemas (@whynotcinemass_) July 6, 2025 The comment also drew strong reactions from the Kodava community, who accused the actress of being unaware of their cultural and cinematic contributions. Veteran actress Neravanda Prema, who was among the first from Coorg to earn mainstream recognition, also responded to Rashmika's comment. Speaking to a news portal, she said, 'What is there for me to say? The Kodava community knows the truth. You should ask her (Rashmika) about her version of the statement. What can I say about it?" Prema added, 'Before me, there was an actor, Shashikala from Coorg, who played supporting roles. Then I entered the film industry, and later many Kodavas have done well."
