Man Utd transfer news: Ruben Amorim makes demand as Marcus Rashford verdict delivered
Manchester United have been busy this summer as they look to bounce back from their worst ever Premier League campaign, with new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon now joined by Bryan Mbeumo Bryan Mbeumo has become Manchester United's newest summer signing after finally agreeing a deal worth £71million including add-ons with Brentford. Mbeumo is United's third new signing after the additions of Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon. Plenty more incomings and outgoings are expected before the transfer window slams shut, with manager Ruben Amorim keen to offload Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia after placing them in the 'bomb squad'. Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have already left the club following the expiration of their contracts, while Jonny Evans has retired and started a new role as United's head of loans and pathways. Here, Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer news and rumours from in and around Old Trafford... Amorim wants two new signings Mirror Football understands that Ruben Amorim wants to add at least two more players following the news that Bryan Mbeumo's move is confirmed. A new striker is top of Amorim's shopping list, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee managing just seven Premier League goals between them last season. However, they missed out on Liam Delap to Chelsea and Viktor Gyokeres prefers a move to Arsenal over United. Amorim also wants to sign a new midfielder, having highlighted his side's struggles in that area during their pre-season friendly against Leeds. "We have a lack of pace, especially in the middle of the park and you can feel it is hard to win and bring the ball," he admitted. Rashford's wait Marcus Rashford is on the verge of joining Barcelona on loan with an option buy, but he faces a nervous wait to see if he can be registered. Barcelona have struggled to register players in recent seasons due to their financial issues, with new signing Joan Garcia yet to be officially registered with La Liga as they do not have space in their wage budget yet. Rashford will be in the same boat once he joins the club, but Barcelona are working on exits for a number of players to allow Garcia and Rashford to be registered. Ferdinand verdict Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has shared his disappointment at Marcus Rashford's impending move to Barcelona. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: "There must have been so much going on behind the scenes that we're just not aware of. And Marcus isn't someone who really wants to talk and do interviews, so you have to respect that. But I'm sure it'll come out in the wash at some point. "Is it because of a lack of form? A lack of confidence? Mismanagement? Have the club failed him? Or is it down to him? Is there injuries we don't know about? Has he lost that desire? That form is gone and he can't rekindle it and can't get it back?"

Our modern game owes so much to Gazza... it's sad to see him grow more fragile by the day, writes OLIVER HOLT
The generation of footballers that graces the Premier League today, the generation of Cole Palmer, and , the generation that lives in gated splendour and enjoys rock-star adulation, is a generation that stands on the shoulders of giants. In the context of the English game, no one did more to create the boom of the 1990s and lay the foundations for fabulous new stadiums and the rush of billionaires flocking to invest in, and profit from, our clubs than Paul Gascoigne.
