Guardiola hears boos at Oasis concert in Manchester after band dedicates song to ‘greatest manager'
A smattering of boos followed Liam Gallagher dedicating 'D'You Know What I Mean?' to 'the greatest manager of all time, the one and only Pep Guardiola' — who was in attendance.
It occurred Friday night at Heaton Park during the band's first concert in Manchester in 16 years as part of its reunion tour.
Noel Gallagher then asked: 'Who you booing?'
The brothers, who grew up in Manchester and are longtime City fans, have attended many games over the years as Guardiola has guided the club to six Premier League titles — among an array of other trophies.
Guardiola, who received some respectful applause as well, didn't seem to mind the razzing — likely from crosstown Man United fans at the show — and joined the rest of the 70,000-plus fans in singing 'Don't Look Back in Anger.'

Poland beats Denmark for first ever Women's European Championship win
LUCERNE, Switzerland (AP) — Natalia Padilla scored one goal and set up the others for Poland's first ever Women's European Championship win, 3-2 over Denmark in their final group game on Saturday. Poland is appearing in the tournament for the first time and the Spanish-born Padilla got the country's first ever goal when she opened the scoring in the 13th minute, pouncing on a rebound to fire past Maja Bay Østergaard after Ewa SPajor's initial effort was blocked at the right post. Padilla then crossed for Pajor to head in the second in the 20th. Denmark suffered another blow five minutes later when captain Pernille Harder went off with what looked like a hamstring injury. Denmark was already without Emma Snerle, who suffered a head injury during Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Germany. Denmark players paused during their pre-game warmup to pose with Snerle's jersey, while Danish fans also displayed a large banner wishing her well. Denmark pulled one back through Janni Thomsen before the hour-mark when Kinga Szemik let her long-range effort slip through her fingers. Sweden crushes Germany at the Euros for the first time and tops group
ZURICH (AP) — Sweden put down a statement 4-1 win over Germany at the Women's European Championship on Saturday and secured a potentially easier route to the final. The record eight-time champion was dominated, although Sweden's task was made easier after Germany forward Carlotta Wamser was sent off — barely half an hour in — for swatting a ball away from the goal-line with her arm. By that point Sweden was up 2-1 after goals from Stina Blackstenius and teenager Smilla Holmberg canceled Jule Brand's early opener for Germany. Fridolina Rolfö calmly slotted the penalty after Wamser's red card and substitute Lina Hurtig wrapped up the scoring late on to cap a miserable night for Germany, which conceded four goals for the first time in any Euro match, including qualifiers. It was the first time Sweden beat Germany at the Euros and ensured it topped Group C with maximum points and avoided the possibility of facing World Cup champion and Euro 2025 favorite Spain in the semifinals. Sweden will face the runner-up of Group D in the quarterfinals, with Germany facing the team that tops that group. That will be France, England or the Netherlands. France has six points and plays the Netherlands, which has three points along with defending champion England. England plays Wales, also on Sunday. Germany and Sweden had already qualified for the knockout stages but the match was decisive for top spot in the group, with a draw being enough for Sweden thanks to a better goal difference. Sweden led in somewhat fortunate circumstances in the 25th. Holmberg sprinted down the right and into the area and was tackled by Germany defender Sarai Linder, who inadvertently kicked the ball off the Swedish teen's shin and it ricocheted into the net. It was a first international goal for the 18-year-old Holmberg, who recently graduated from high school. Matters swiftly went from bad to worse for Germany when Wamser was shown a straight red card for blocking a shot by Rolfö with her arm. Cubs beat Yankees 5-2, end five-game winning streak
NEW YORK (AP) — Chicago's Matthew Boyd won a matchup of All-Star left-handers as Max Fried left early because of yet another blister on his pitching hand, and the Cubs stopped the New York Yankees' five-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory on Saturday. Aaron Judge hit a two-run homer in the ninth off Brad Keller, his 35th of the season, and became the fastest player to 350 home runs. Playing his 1,088th game, Judge bettered Mark McGwire's 1,280. A first time All-Star, Boyd (10-3) won his fourth straight start and fifth consecutive decision, giving up four hits in eight scoreless innings with six strikeouts and no walks. He threw 62 of 85 pitches for strikes. Judge hit a pair of doubles against the 34-year-old. Daniel Palencia, throwing at up to 101.1 mph, got two outs for his 11th save in 12 chances. Fried (11-3) allowed nine of 18 batters to reach, giving up four runs — three earned — six hits and three walks in three innings. He threw just 39 of 73 pitches for strikes. Fried, a three-time All-Star, was on the injured list for blisters on his left index finger in 2018, '19, '21 and '23. He had been 6-0 against the Cubs.
