Anne Hathaway Shares First Look as Andy Sachs in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2'

Express Tribune5 days ago
Anne Hathaway has officially returned to her iconic role as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2, as revealed in a first-look photo shared on social media by the Oscar-winning actor and 20th Century Studios.
The upcoming sequel to the 2006 hit comedy-drama is currently in production, with Hathaway set to reunite with original cast members Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna are also returning to helm the long-anticipated follow-up.
In the photo, Hathaway captioned the image 'Andy Sachs 2025,' giving fans a glimpse of her character nearly two decades after the events of the original film. In the first movie, Hathaway's character was an aspiring journalist who took a job as the assistant to fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Streep. By the end of the film, Andy left her position at Runway magazine to pursue a journalism career at a major New York newspaper.
Plot details for the sequel remain under wraps. However, as reported by Variety, the story is expected to follow Miranda Priestly as she contends with the challenges of a changing media landscape and the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Blunt's character, once her assistant, is now a powerful executive at a luxury fashion conglomerate—setting the stage for a dramatic clash.
New additions to the cast include Kenneth Branagh, who is set to play Miranda's husband, along with Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet in unspecified roles. Broadway talents Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora, as well as comedian Caleb Hearon, will also appear. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman are confirmed to reprise their roles from the original film.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, via 20th Century Studios and Disney.

Winona Ryder reveals why she was dropped from a Marlon Brando film

Winona Ryder is reflecting on how one of her most iconic early roles nearly ended her career before it began. In a recent interview with Elle UK, the actress revealed that her decision to star in the 1988 cult classic Heathers cost her a major role opposite screen legend Marlon Brando — a consequence that industry insiders warned her about. As a teenager, Ryder was advised by her team not to take the role of Veronica Sawyers, the sharp-tongued protagonist in Heathers, a dark comedy about a murderous high school clique. 'My agent at the time literally got down on her knees begging me not to do it,' Ryder previously told Harper's Bazaar. 'She said, 'You're going to destroy any chance of a career.'' Despite the warnings, Ryder took the role — and quickly saw fallout. She was dropped from the 1990 crime comedy The Freshman, which starred Brando and Matthew Broderick. 'They thought it was making fun of teen suicide. They were deeply offended and, yeah, they revoked the offer,' she said. 'I'm like, 'I can't work with Marlon Brando?' I had to stand my ground. I wasn't gonna apologize.' Heathers was polarizing at the time but ultimately became a cult favorite and a defining moment in Ryder's career. 'I never turn off Heathers if it's on. I know it basically by heart,' she said, expressing no regrets. Producer Denise Di Novi told Variety that Ryder was 'very brave and unusual' to take on such a controversial role, describing her as 'an amazing 15-year-old' who became obsessed with the script. Though The Freshman was a missed opportunity, Ryder's gamble on Heathers proved to be a bold move that solidified her reputation as a fearless and unconventional talent.

Julie Bowen's first reaction to Happy Gilmore 2 script

Julie Bowen is opening up about her unexpected storyline in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 comedy classic. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the Emmy-winning actress revealed her reaction upon learning her character, Virginia Venit, dies within the first few minutes of the film. Bowen, 55, reprises her role as Virginia, who in the sequel is now married to Happy Gilmore, played once again by Adam Sandler. The couple has five children together — but the family moment is short-lived. Just minutes into the film, Virginia is struck and killed by a golf ball hit by her husband during a tournament. "When I found out that I was killed on page 12, I started laughing," Bowen told PEOPLE. She explained she was on vacation with limited phone access when she read the script. "I only had my phone, and I was like, 'Am I seeing this right?' Trying to blow it up," she recalled. Despite the abrupt ending for her character, Bowen embraced the twist with humor. "I go, 'I don't care. It's great. Happy can't be happy,'" she joked, noting how Sandler tried to reach her during her trip to discuss the plot. Bowen said she was honored to be included in the sequel, even with a limited on-screen role. "It's just fun to be part of the whole thing," she shared. "Of course, why would I not want to be part of Happy Gilmore, whether I'm a big part, a little part." She also praised Sandler's commitment to bringing back original cast members, calling it important to him. Though Virginia dies early in the story, Bowen revealed that her character remains central through Happy's emotional journey. 'His love for me drives the story,' she said, explaining how memories of Virginia motivate him to perform and parent well.

New nepo baby in town? Nicole Kidman's daughter makes a glamorous debut

There's a new nepo baby making waves in Hollywood and she's got some very famous footsteps to follow. Nicole Kidman's 14-year-old daughter Faith Margaret has officially made her onscreen debut in a new luxury campaign, joining her Oscar-winning mum in a high-gloss short film for Clé de Peau Beauté. The black-and-white film, The Key to Radiance Is You, features Nicole in a series of striking looks before Faith appears for a quiet, tender moment, a soft embrace between mother and daughter that has already sent social media into speculation mode. For many, this marks the entrance of another industry legacy kid: same privilege, same beauty, new face. Faith's appearance comes shortly after big sister Sunday Rose, 17, launched her modelling career, reinforcing the narrative that the Kidman-Urban girls are next in the nepo baby queue. Nicole confirmed the film wasn't part of a long-term plan for Faith, but rather a special one-off moment. 'She's my baby,' Nicole said. 'It was a magical, dreamlike experience. This wasn't a job, it was a gift.' But online, the discourse has been less dreamy. 'Faith Kidman Urban is 14 and already filming luxury brand ads,' one user noted. 'Being born famous is the real skincare.' Another joked, 'The nepo pipeline stays undefeated.' Despite the nepotism chatter, the campaign positions itself as an ode to inner glow and feminine strength. Nicole, now the brand's global ambassador, says the message is about confidence and radiance from within, something she hopes to pass on to both her daughters. Still, Faith's serene entry into beauty stardom has sparked new interest in celebrity kids inching closer to fame. One campaign in, and it's clear: there's a new nepo baby in town.
