We won't tolerate it: AFL fine foul-mouthed Lions star
The AFL deemed Zorko used "insulting and profane language" as he exited the field of play during the last quarter of his team's 10-point win over the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba.
"The AFL reminds all players that the AFL has no tolerance for abusive or insulting conduct towards AFL umpires and other match officials," the AFL said in a statement.
Zorko played a key role in Brisbane's premiership-winning campaign last year, and he is averaging a career-high 26.7 disposals per game this season.
The Lions sit second on the ladder with a 13-4-1 record, and they'll be aiming to bank their fifth win on the trot when they take on Gold Coast in Saturday's QClash at People First Stadium.
Meanwhile, Hawthorn captain James Sicily can escape with a $3750 fine for his off-the-ball hit on Carlton's Blake Acres in Thursday's 24-point win over the Blues.
The rough conduct charge was graded as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.
Brisbane Lions veteran Dayne Zorko has copped a $3000 fine for his foul-mouth tirade towards the officials bench last week.

Ben Cousins to join Cyril Rioli and Gary Ablett Jr in EJ Whitten Legends Game
The quality of players turning out in the reborn EJ Whitten Legends Game has been enhanced with Brownlow medallist Ben Cousins set to take to Marvel Stadium. Fifteen years after his AFL retirement, having endured significant breakdowns and controversies, the West Coast premiership star will pull on the boots for charity. Cousins will join a growing list of former champions, including Cyril Rioli, Gary Ablett Jr, Luke Hodge and Nick Riewoldt. It marks a significant moment for Cousins, who went through a well-publicised battle with drug addiction that prematurely ended his time at the Eagles where he was a club legend. But in recent years the six-time All-Australian player has turned his life around and become a media mainstay, with a radio gig in Perth and even a star turn on Dancing with the Stars. Cousins will partner 2006 premiership teammate Andrew Embley in the All Stars side, while 2018 West Coast premiership captain Luke Shuey is locked in to line up for the Victorian team. Organisers have managed to lure the reclusive Rioli into playing, with his Hawthorn premiership teammate Shane Crawford coaching the All Stars team. The game will be played on the Thursday night between the end of the home-and-away season and the start of the finals series.

Giants legend Callan Ward calls time on historic 327-game AFL career
Callan Ward has been lauded as the 'heart and soul' of the GWs Giants after the club's inaugural captain called time on his remarkable 327-game career. The 35-year-old warrior put his body on the line for 18 seasons, first with the Western Bulldogs then made himself a trailblazer with the Giants by joining them in their inaugural season in 2011. He was the club's first co-captain, kicked the expansion team's first goal, won the first club best and fairest and in 2024 became the first player to notch 250 games for the Giants and is the club's games record holder. 'Callan Ward has been the heart and soul of this football club since day one,' Giants chief executive David Matthews said. 'It was a courageous decision to join the Giants, to join a start-up and confront the many challenges of building an AFL club from scratch. He didn't just help build the Giants – he helped define who we are. 'From the moment he arrived, Callan brought leadership, toughness, and professionalism that shaped our culture and set the standard for every player who's walked through our doors. 'It is hard to overstate the impact Callan has had – not just on the field but off it. He has been a role model, a mentor, and a cornerstone of our club's identity for 14 seasons. 'To see his career end the way it did is heartbreaking, but it's also fitting that even in that moment, his focus was on lifting his teammates. That is who Callan Ward is. 'Callan Ward retires as a Giants legend, an AFL great, and someone who leaves an enduring legacy for decades to come. 'We also extend our very best wishes to Ruby, Romeo, Ralfie, and Rex as they embark on their next chapter as a family. You'll always be a part of the Giants family and we wish you nothing but success and happiness in the future.' Ward's final season in the AFL was cut down by an ACL injury he suffered in round 12, the second of his career. NewsWire The family of a Sydney woman who vanished decades ago have called for help as a new clue in the mystery of her disappearance is revealed. AFL: Logan Morris earns praise from Brisbane stalwart Dayne Zorko
Lions veteran Dayne Zorko has lavished praise on teammate Logan Morris after the young forward's six-goal haul against Collingwood. Morris, 20, was instrumental as Brisbane bounced back from a poor display in the previous week's QClash against the Gold Coast to beat the Magpies by 27 points at the MCG on Saturday night. '(Morris) reads the ball so well,' Zorko told SENQ Breakfast. 'For a 20-year-old, he's just so ahead of the game in that area. He's phenomenal. 'His ability to read the play is just incredible.' Morris has now kicked 40 goals this season, and his weekend performance was the third time he had booted five or more six-pointers in a game. Lions forward Logan Morris celebrates after booting one of his six goals in Brisbane's weekend win over Collingwood. Picture: James Wiltshire/AFL Photos via Getty Images 'We had a clear plan that we wanted to give our forwards as much of an opportunity deep as possible,' Zorko said. 'He (Morris) got out the back a couple of times and got some good goals, but most importantly was his finishing in front of 82,000 fans. 'Collingwood supporters are a different beast. They're yelling and screaming.' Zorko said the win against the team that topped the table before the start of the round would give reigning premiers Brisbane 'a lot of confidence going forward'. 'To put in a performance like that and bounce back was great,' he said. 'Before the game I had a rough idea that it looked like we were on again.' The Lions, who host Sydney on Saturday in a rematch of last year's grand final, are in third place on the ladder, two points adrift of Adelaide and the Magpies.
