Bahraini Women Entrepreneurs Celebrate the Power of "Imtiaz" and Call for More to Join

Winners of the fourth edition of the "Imtiaz" Initiative have called on aspiring Bahraini women entrepreneurs to apply for the upcoming fifth edition. They described the initiative as a life-changing experience that not only elevated their businesses but also empowered them with mentorship, new networks, and confidence to grow sustainably.
The "Imtiaz" Initiative, launched by the Supreme Council for Women under the leadership of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King and President of the Council, aims to celebrate, support, and promote young female entrepreneurs in Bahrain.
A Boost to Business and Confidence
Hessa Al Binflah, founder and CEO of HFD Design Studio, said winning the Imtiaz award marked a turning point in her career. 'It shined a light on my achievements and gave me a roadmap to grow. Through expert mentorship and networking opportunities, I gained insights that would've taken years to uncover on my own,' she explained. She encouraged fellow businesswomen to apply, saying: 'Even participating opens doors to invaluable learning and growth.'
Fatima Al Ansari, owner of Fatima Al Ansari Design Studio, described Imtiaz as a game-changer. 'The award boosted my credibility, expanded my client base, and gave my brand stronger visibility both locally and regionally,' she said. For her, Imtiaz was more than a business award — it was a recognition of her impact on society. 'True success is measured by the positive change we bring to our communities,' she said.
Creating Impact and Broadening Horizons
Dr. Sarah Al Reifi, who runs a women's health center, described her Imtiaz win as a transformative milestone. 'The support, workshops, and expert guidance helped me enhance my center's operations and plan for long-term growth,' she said. The privilege of using the Imtiaz seal on her official branding boosted her center's credibility and visibility in the region — even opening doors to international markets.
Mariam Al Mansoori, founder of Jomon, a plant-based dairy alternative brand, said receiving the Imtiaz award gave her a deep sense of responsibility. 'The initiative guided me to re-evaluate my priorities, improve quality, and think bigger,' she said. She also praised the Council's continuous support, especially through networking events and exposure to investors and international business forums.
A Platform for Real Change
Dr. Mai Ibrahim Mattar, founder of Lightbox Radiology Center, valued the comprehensive evaluation and feedback she received through Imtiaz. 'It helped refine my business strategy and expand our medical services,' she shared. For her, the initiative breaks stereotypes about women in business and showcases their ability to lead and innovate.
Lulwa Al Manai, a leather accessories designer and founder of a fashion startup, said Imtiaz helped her brand stand out and gain access to global fashion exhibitions. 'The media and marketing support gave my project credibility, while the business guidance helped boost sales and attract investors,' she said. On a personal level, she credited the program for inspiring her to pursue a master's degree in luxury business in Italy, enriching her expertise in the fashion industry.
A Message to Aspiring Entrepreneurs
The winners united in encouraging other young women to join the fifth edition of Imtiaz. They highlighted the unique blend of professional development, strategic advice, and community engagement offered by the initiative. More than a competition, Imtiaz is a launchpad for Bahraini women to innovate, lead, and leave a mark on their country's economic future.
"Participation alone can be transformative," they said, calling on all aspiring Bahraini women entrepreneurs to take the leap — because this journey could open doors beyond imagination.
