On Friday, Ridhi Dogra reacted to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a Shah Rukh Khan fan page announcing his Best Actor win for Jawan at the 71st National Film Awards. Referencing her role in the Atlee film, Ridhi Dogra wrote, 'The best news. The best film. Shah Rukh Khan shared the Best Actor award with Vikrant Massey, who won for his role in 12th Fail. Soon after the National Film Awards were announced, Shah Rukh Khan shared a video thanking his fans, directors and family for their unwavering support.
Meanwhile, last month, Ridhi Dogra opened up about playing Shah Rukh Khan's godmother Kaveri Amma in the film. She said that as a fan of SRK, it was 'painful' for her to play the role, and she said that it would be a nightmare for any Shah Rukh Khan fan. She explained that in the film, her role was not actually that of Shah Rukh's mother – that part was played by Deepika Padukone. However, since the makers didn't want to label Deepika's character as the mother, so she became 'Kaveri Amma'.
In an interview with Indian Express, Ridhi Dogra said, 'SRK is eternally young. I am playing a mother to Shah Rukh Khan. That's ridiculous. That's the stuff nightmares are made of. That's a nightmare for every Shah Rukh fan. I was directly called to meet Atlee on the sets of Jawan. I was very happy, but I didn't know where I was going and what was happening. After reaching there, I realized that they were shooting Jawan, the whole set was ready. Atlee explained the role to me, and I was like, 'No, what makes you think I am this person?'" However, she felt it was an opportunity she shouldn't pass up, so she decided to take on the role.
