CSIR NET 2025 extended registration process ends today at csirnet.nta.ac.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the extended registration and application submission window for the CSIR UGC NET 2025 today, June 26, 2025. Candidates can complete their applications on the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in. Originally, the deadline was June 23, but it was extended by three days.
As per NTA guidelines, each candidate is allowed to submit only one application form. Submitting multiple forms may result in strict disciplinary action.

CSIR NET 2025: Exam schedule
The CSIR NET 2025 exam is scheduled to be held from July 26 to July 28, 2025. The test will be conducted in a computer-based format and offered in both English and Hindi. However, in case of any discrepancies, the English version of the question paper will prevail.
CSIR NET 2025: Eligibility criteria
The CSIR-UGC NET is a national-level examination to determine eligibility for:

New Delhi: At least 13 per cent of research abstracts published in 2024 could have taken help from a large language model, as they included more of 'style' words seen to be favoured by these AI systems, suggests an analysis of more than 15 million biomedical papers published from 2010 to 2024. Powered by artificial intelligence, large language models are trained on vast amounts of text and can, therefore, respond to human requests in the natural language. Researchers from the University of Tubingen , Germany, said the AI models have caused a drastic shift in the vocabulary used in academic writing, with speculation about their influence in scientific writing being common. The study, published in the journal Science, revealed the emergence of large language models has sparked an increase in the usage of certain "stylistic words", including 'delves', 'showcasing', 'underscores', 'potential', 'findings' and 'critical'. The authors explained that the shift in words used during 2023-2024 were not "content-related nouns", rather style-affecting verbs and adjectives that large language models prefer. For the analysis, the researchers used a public health approach, common during the COVID-19 pandemic, for estimating excess deaths. The method involves comparing deaths during the pandemic with those before to assess the impact of COVID-19 on death rates. The approach modified for this analysis was termed as an "excess word" framework by researchers. The findings show an "unprecedented impact" of AI models on scientific writing in biomedical research, "surpassing the effect of major world events such as the COVID-19 pandemic". "We study vocabulary changes in more than 15 million biomedical abstracts from 2010 to 2024 indexed by PubMed and show how the appearance of (large language models) led to an abrupt increase in the frequency of certain style words," the authors wrote. PubMed is a search engine providing access to biomedical and life sciences literature published from around the world. "This excess word analysis suggests that at least 13.5 per cent of 2024 abstracts were processed with (large language models)," the team wrote. The figure was found to differ across disciplines, countries and journals, hitting 40 per cent in some cases, they said. In computational fields of biomedical research, about 20 per cent of the abstracts involved the use of large language models, which the researchers said could be due to computer science researchers being more familiar with and willing to adopt the technology. In non-English speaking countries, the AI systems can help authors with editing English texts, which could justify their extensive use, the authors said. However, they added that factors such as publication timelines -- which are shorter in computational fields, thereby enabling an earlier detection of AI use in these journals -- would need to be looked at. Therefore, the study's results may be re-evaluated after a couple of publication cycles in all fields and journals for which the methods used here can help, the team said. PTI

The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday said over 41.38 lakh students and about 1 lakh teachers have been trained under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme so far. Besides this, the Uyarvukku Padi scheme has facilitated the admission of 77,752 students into higher education institutions. Under the Kalloori Kanavu 24 initiative, over 1.87 lakh have benefited since its inception in 2022. In 2025-26, 81,149 students benefited, an official release listing the accomplishments of the Special Programme Implementation Department said. A total of 29 government engineering colleges have been equipped with skill and employment centres at an estimated cost of ₹30.17 crore, inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on December 18, 2024, at the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. Under the North Chennai Development Project, about 1,200 individuals from the region participated in skill training and job fairs, with 297 selected for recruitment, training, and placement, it said. Since 2021-22, 259,072 college hostel students from the Adi Dravidar community, Most Backward Classes, and Backward Classes have received training in English speaking and softskill development, the release said. Under the SCOOT Pilot Phase Outcomes (2024), implemented in collaboration with the British Council and Durham University, 100 students received online training in artificial intelligence and data science, it said. The top 25 students received in-person training at Durham University, and 13 of them were placed in leading companies. For the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, an allocation of ₹8,123.83 crore was made for 2023-24 and ₹13,721.50 crore for 2024-25. 'The scheme will be expanded to include more eligible women,' it said.

Jurassic World: Rebirth, the seventh film in the long-running dinosaur franchise, has earned ₹22 crore in India in the first two days of its release. The film, directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, opened with a staggering figure of ₹9 crore in India, surpassing 2022's Jurassic World: Dominion. According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹13 crore on its second day, Saturday, with its English, Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu versions making ₹6.5 crore, ₹1.5 crore, ₹4.5 crore, and ₹0.5 crore, respectively. Notably, the English version of the film had an overall occupancy of 46.21 per cent on Saturday. Chennai registered the highest footfalls for the English 3D version (81.50 per cent), followed by Bengaluru (62.25 per cent) and Hyderabad (50 per cent). Meanwhile, the film earned $141 million in the US and $312 million globally, according to Saturday's estimates reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Jurassic World: Rebirth stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend and Jonathan Bailey in leading roles. The film, set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, unfolds in a world where dinosaurs have been largely pushed into remote, equatorial zones due to climate incompatibility. However, the few surviving species may hold the secret to a medical breakthrough, driving a high-risk extraction mission led by Johansson's character. The Hindu's review of the film read, 'Jurassic World: Rebirth sounds and looks wonderful, and though it does not offer anything brilliantly new, it is the kind of summer fast food that is filling and tasty and utterly forgettable.'
