Commotion in Sepang court as murder victim's relative tries to confront suspect
The man, dressed in red, approached the suspect while shouting at him as he exited the court after a remand extension hearing at around 9.50am Thursday, the Malay language daily reported.
Police officers at the scene then tried to calm the individual to prevent any untoward incidents.
It was reported that a man and three women, aged from 19 to 20 years old, were apprehended in Johor Baru, Johor, and Gemencheh, Negri Sembilan, on Thursday (June 26) and early Friday (June 27) morning in connection with the murder.
They were nabbed within 48 hours of the police report lodged on the incident.
Maniishapriet, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student, was found dead in her dorm at a condominium in Cyberjaya.
The victim, who was from Kuching, Sarawak, was discovered unconscious with visible injuries on her body by her friend at about 10am on Tuesday (June 24). The friend then immediately alerted the police.
She was living with five other students, but they had returned home for the holidays on June 21, leaving her alone at the hostel, as she was scheduled to take an upcoming examination.
The victim's ATM card was among several valuables reported missing from the scene, including a laptop, mobile phone, and cash.
A post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

She added that the case is being investigated under Section 79(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for not conforming to traffic directions and signs. Those convicted under the section can be fined a minimum of RM300 to a maximum of RM2,000 for those who opt to go to court.

Zurinah pleaded guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to voluntarily causing hurt to one Siti Hazlinda, 30, on June 12, at 11.40am at a nail treatment outlet on the second floor of Centre Point shopping mall, here. Advertisement Zurinah was convicted under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to one year or fine of up to RM2,000 or both on conviction. The facts of the case presented by the prosecution stated that the incident took place while the victim was at work in the said shopping mall when her cousin, Zurinah, suddenly confronted and slapped her once on the left cheek. Zurinah accused the victim of being the reason behind a verbal altercation between Zurinah and her father. The victim's employer, who witnessed the incident, intervened and broke up the confrontation before advising the victim to leave to avoid further escalation. The victim later lodged a police report.
