United States President Donald Trump on Friday once again claimed to have mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan and said that five jets were shot down during Operation Sindoor, which was India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack in April.
Trump said, "We stopped a lot of wars. And these were serious, India and Pakistan, that was going on. Planes were being shot out of there. I think five jets were shot down, actually. These are two serious nuclear countries, and they were hitting each other.

MP Manish Tewari on Sunday questioned the credibility of Donald Trump's "five jets shot down" statement, saying that the US President should provide an empirical basis to substantiate the information and specify whether the planes were Indian or Pakistani.

Manish Tewari said that it was up to the US President to provide proof of the claims he had made. "President Trump says that five military jets were shot down during that conflict; it is for President Trump to tell the world as to which country those jets belong to".
"We were in a conflict situation with Pakistan. We were responding to a terror attack. India carried out precision strikes on designated terror hideouts and training centers. Therefore, we acted in self-defence," Tewari said.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari on Sunday said that US President Trump's statement about the five fighter jets being shot down is disturbing and added, "It has been decided to raise issues, the most important being the Pahalgam attack. To date, the traces of terrorists have not been found. Regarding Operation Sindoor,

'Avoid border areas': India issues advisory for Indians in Cambodia amid Thailand conflict
The Indian Embassy in Cambodia issued an advisory for Indian nationals travelling to the country amid ongoing clashes with Thailand, suggesting that they avoid going to border areas. The advisory comes amid recent tensions and conflict between Cambodia and Thailand at the border. In light of the conflict, the Indian embassy in Thailand had earlier issued a travel advisory urging Indian nationals to avoid certain areas near the Thailand-Cambodia border. 'In view of the situation near the Thailand-Cambodia border, all Indian travellers to Thailand are advised to check updates from Thai official sources, including TAT Newsroom,' the Indian embassy wrote in a post on its official X handle. The Thailand-Cambodia conflict Thailand and Cambodia clashed for a third day on Saturday, as the death toll from their bloodiest fighting in years rose to 33 and Phnom Penh called for an "immediate ceasefire". A long-running border dispute erupted into intense conflict involving jets, artillery, tanks and ground troops on Thursday, prompting the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on the crisis Friday. Cambodia's defence ministry said 13 people were now confirmed killed in the fighting, including eight civilians and five soldiers, with 71 people wounded. In Thailand, the army said five soldiers were killed on Friday, taking the toll there to 20 -- 14 civilians and six military. The death toll across the two countries is now higher than the 28 killed in the last major round of fighting between 2008 and 2011. The fighting marks a dramatic escalation in a long-running dispute over their shared 800-kilometre (500-mile) border. The neighbours are both popular destinations for millions of foreign tourists. Dozens of kilometres in several areas are contested, and fighting broke out between 2008 and 2011, leaving at least 28 people dead and tens of thousands displaced. A UN court ruling in 2013 settled the matter for over a decade, but the current crisis erupted in May when a Cambodian soldier was killed in a new clash.
