Ramanujamji said in a discourse that the term 'Aacharanam' refers to a person setting an example by following himself. Acharyas are those who establish a connection with God and show the paths prescribed by the Vedas, which are easy to follow. Establishing contact with Acharyas is very important.
Why do we need Satsang? It will kindle the desire to engage in spiritual activities. Involvement in spiritual activities will not come automatically. Only the teachings of Mahaans (great people) will make a person immersed.

Love kadhi chawal? This spring onion kadhi will fix those rainy afternoon blues
God bless whoever came up with the iconic kadhi chawal, rajma chawal and chole chawal combos because what would our food-gorging souls do without them. Nothing like a steaming hot plate of kadhi chawal when it's pouring outside!(Photo: The Foodscape) Earthy delicacies like these are not just suspiciously simple but also hit the spot no matter the weather outside. Now the one upside to the chaotic Delhi monsoons we're all weathering, is that these plates of bliss hit extra hard — and we're here for it, albeit with an interesting twist. Now for anyone thinking we're saying it's ok to mess with the sanctity of classic pairings, this might be that dish which ends up changing your mind. Food purists! You will not regret trying this out. Spring onion kadhi Ingredients: Dahi - 1 cup, gram flour (besan) - 1.5tbsps, water (to whisk the curd mix) - 1.5 to 2 cups, oil - 1tbsp, mustard seeds - 1tsp, cumin seeds - 1tsp, fenugreek seeds - 1/2tsp, ginger-garlic and green chilli paste - 1/2tbsp, curry leaves - 6 to 7, chopped spring onions (bulbs and greens) - 1 cup, salt - 1tsp, coriander leaves - a handful, ghee for tadka - 1tsp, red chilli powder - for tadka Method: Whisk the curd, besan and water till it's lump-free and set this aside. Heat oil in a kadhai and add the rai, jeera and methi seeds — let them splutter. Then in goes the ginger-garlic green chilli paste followed by the curry leaves and spring onions. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes till they begin to soften and then go in with the whisked curd slurry on low flame. Add salt and let this simmer on low for 10 to 12 minutes. Serve with steaming hot rice. Karma and Dharma
The doctrine of Karma implies that a person is subject to pleasure and pain due to the effect of the deeds undertaken in previous births. Karma has no beginning and cannot be traced. Karma gives the cycle of births and rebirths. God does not need the sanction of our belief to run the universe. He is neutral and impartial. If karma decides everything, what is the role of God? Thirukkudanthai Sri. Venkatesh said in a discourse that Lord Krishna states in the Gita that five things are essential to perform an act. The doer, the physical body, the life air, the various kinds of organs, and the Divinity ( God ). Adhishtanam tatha karta CH-18-Verse-14. God extends to us a limited free will to perform actions, and we have to use it judiciously. Noble men would feel that if they faced problems and sufferings, it may be due to their misdeeds, and if any good thing happened, it would be because of God's blessings. A doubt arises whether the fruit of the action is due to our performance or granted by God. All our deeds are to be aimed at satisfying God, and if He is pleased, He will extend His blessings. He will not give at random. It depends on our attitudes and beliefs. In the churning of the milk ocean, the celestials indulged in it with the sole aim of rendering service to God, while the Asuras tried to overpower God. Hence, He chose to give nectar to the celestials. Dharma has several meanings and explanations, and in this context, it refers to 'Sastras', which define a set of rules and regulations to be followed. The Lord says that the Vedas and the Sastras are His commands (Sruthi Smruthir mamaivagnya). By following the prescribed codes of conduct, people can derive His blessings and reach the realm of His abode.
