In Afghanistan, bombings were stopped for this actress, piece of gold was placed in her mouth due to..., she died after..., actress was...
While today this actress is not with us anymore, her roles are evergreen. Fans still remember her with great affinity. If you are wondering who we are talking about, then this actress is late actress Sridevi. From a child artist in South Indian films to becoming Bollywood's first true female superstar, her journey was nothing short of cinematic.
Sridevi's first Bollywood film as a child artist was Julie (1975). However, her first leading role in a Hindi movie came in Solva Sawan (1979). Her major breakthrough came when she featured in Himmatwala in 1983. Over the next few years, Sridevi went on to give major hit films. Shooting in Afghanistan
Sridevi has worked with A-list actors and among them was Amitabh Bachchan. The duo worked in Khuda Gawah and the film turned out to be a huge hit. Do you know that a part of Khuda Gawah was shot in Afghanistan's Mazar-e-Sharif during troubled times?
Afghanistan has always been a place where the situation often remained tense. During these times, Sridevi and Amitabh were shooting for their film Khuda Gawah. At the time, Afghanistan's President Najibullah Ahmadzai was reportedly an ardent admirer of the megastar. During the actors' shoot in the country, they were allegedly given security by half of the Afghan Air Force.
In 2013, Amitabh opened up about the incident in a Facebook post. He wrote, 'The Soviets had just left the country and power was handed over to Najibullah Ahmadzai who was a die-hard fan of popular Hindi cinema. He wanted to meet me and we were given the right royal treatment. We were treated as VVIP state guests at Mazar-e-Sharif and taken through the length and breadth of the incredibly beautiful country in airplanes with armed escorts.'
He further added, 'We received the traditional warmth of the locals who have a passion for hospitality. We weren't allowed to stay in a hotel… a family just vacated its home for us and moved to a smaller house.'
While everything was going smoothly and Sridevi even appeared in the film Mom in 2017, a year later, everything changed, and the actress was found dead in her bathtub in her Dubai hotel. Piece of Gold Was Kept in Sridevi's Mouth Due to…
During Sridevi's last rites, a piece of gold was kept in her mouth and she was given the final farewell with state honours.

This 2-hour-17-minute superhit thriller in which actress turns into snake, movie name is... , lead actress was...
It's been 39 years since Nagina first slithered into theatres, yet when people talk about 'naag-naagin' films, one name instantly flashes in memory, Sridevi. Released in 1986, the 2-hour-17-minute fantasy thriller was directed by Harmesh Malhotra and starred Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor, and Amrish Puri in unforgettable roles. The story, penned by Jagmohan Kapoor, Ravi Kapoor, and Achala Nagar, revolved around a shape-shifting serpent woman, an 'ichchadhari naagin' whose love story turns into a tale of revenge. What Was Nagina About? Sridevi played Rajni, a mysterious woman who falls in love with and marries Rajiv (Rishi Kapoor). Unknown to him, Rajni is an ichchadhari naagin. Their seemingly perfect life takes a sharp turn when Bhairon Nath, a snake charmer played by Amrish Puri, enters the scene. Bhairon Nath reveals to Rajiv's mother that Rajni's marriage is driven by revenge—stemming from her husband's death in childhood—and that she possesses a magical jewel, the 'mani.' His mission? To claim it. Using his hypnotic flute, he tries to force Rajni to reveal her serpent form, setting off a dangerous game of power and love. The Twist That Kept Viewers Hooked As the plot unfolds, Rajiv learns of Bhairon Nath's sinister plan. What follows is a gripping battle between supernatural power and human emotion, complete with dramatic confrontations, intense background scores, and Sridevi's legendary 'Main Teri Dushman' dance sequence, still considered one of Bollywood's most electrifying performances. Box Office Magic According to media reports, Nagina was made on a budget of around Rs 1.8–2 crore. Wikipedia estimates its box office haul at about Rs 13 crore, a massive hit for its time. Decades later, the film remains a cult favourite and is still available for viewing on YouTube, attracting new audiences and nostalgic fans alike. Beyond its supernatural premise, Nagina was a turning point in Sridevi's career, solidifying her status as one of Bollywood's most bankable and versatile stars. The chemistry between her and Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri's menacing presence, and Harmesh Malhotra's storytelling combined to create a film that continues to be celebrated nearly four decades later.

It was the year 2023. Actor Ashish Vidyarthi, 61, emerged as the newsmaker of the year after he announced his wedding to Assam-based fashion entrepreneur Rupali Barua. Soon after, the actor appeared in front of the camera multiple times to douse the commotion around his second wedding. However, one person remained silent while Ashish became news – his first wife, Piloo Vidyarthi. The duo parted ways on an amicable note after 22 years of marriage, and it's been two years since then. However, the surname 'Vidyarthi' still flashes brightly on Piloo's Instagram profile. In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, the actor spoke about life after divorce, why she still uses Vidyarthi as her surname, and her current outlook on love and companionship. When asked about still using the surname 'Vidyarthi', Piloo explained, 'The Indian system is complicated. There are so many things you need to consider before altering your name or surname. I am still struggling to change my address on my Aadhar card. If you marry again, the surname change becomes easier." She added that for her, the name carries a history and doesn't need to be altered unless there's a strong reason. 'I don't find a powerful reason to change it. Neither Ashish has a problem with it nor I. Actually, what do I have to prove my changing my surname? It has worked for me." Talking about ex-husband's Ashish's current wife, she said, 'Rupali is now writing Barua [referencing to the fact that she was Piloo Barua before her wedding]. I write Vidyarthi and she never has any issue with it. She is also a very simple person." However, she clarified that she has no intentions of remarrying, 'I'm open to love if at all, but not remarriage at this point in time." The actor also shared her thoughts on the world of online dating apps and joked, 'It doesn't work for me. I can't meet people like that."
