Rishab Shetty to star in a period drama directed by Ashwin Gangaraju
The makers announced the project on social media on July 30, 2025 (Wednesday). 'Not all rebels are forged in battle. Some are chosen by destiny. This is a story of a rebel,' wrote Rishab on X, as he shared the poster of the movie. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are the producers of the movie.

'The land burned, a rebel rose,' reads the caption in the poster. The movie will be directed by Ashwin Gangaraju. He had previously directed Aakashavaani (2021).
Rishab has also signed two more pan-India projects. He will feature as the lead in Jai Hanuman. The Prashanth Varma directorial will be a sequel to his hit HanuMan. It will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. He will also star in The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. The movie will be directed by Sandeep Singh, and will have music from Pritam.

Meanwhile, Rishab is gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated sequel to Kantara (2022). Produced by Hombale Films, the movie will hit the screens on October 02, 2025. Arvind Kashyap is the cinematographer while Ajaneesh Loknath has composed music for the movie.

Actor and comedian Chandrashekhar Siddhi, best known for his stint on reality show Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3, died by suicide on Thursday, July 31. He was 28.
