This performance may boost his chances to lead the attack in the Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos.
Rangers will face the Greek side at Ibrox on July 25, with the return leg in Greece the following week.
Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane were not in the squad for the friendly as they are working on their individual training programmes to regain full fitness.
Danilo, who joined Rangers for £6 million two seasons ago but has struggled with injury, took full advantage of his chance in the friendly.

Outcast Luis Palma breaks silence after quitting Celtic and says it was HIS decision to leave

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LUIS PALMA insists it was his decision to quit Celtic to join Polish side Lech Poznan as he prepares to make a Champions League debut tomorrow with his new club. And the Honduran winger revealed he got advice from his national team manager Reinaldo Rueda before opting to quit the Hoops. But Lech Poznan have had a disastrous start to the season after a Polish Super Cup Final defeat to Legia Warsaw and then a humbling 4-1 home hammering to Cracovia in their opening league game of the season on Friday. But Palma is determined to make an impact at his new surroundings. He said: "I am very happy with the move. I'm delighted to be joining my new club and it was all done very quickly. "I spoke with Celtic and it was my decision to look elsewhere. "I don't know too much about the Polish League, except that it's a good league, with big stadiums and big clubs. "I am going to learn a lot about football there. My goal is to play as much as possible and make a good impression. "I spoke to Reinaldo Rueda about the move, but I did so more as a friend." Palma had been excluded from Celtic's pre-season trip to Portugal and the club were keen to move him on this summer. He barely played in the Premiership last season and was sent on loan to Olympiacos for the second half of the campaign. 3 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

My goal against Rangers for Panathinaikos wasn't enough last time – here is the key in this Champions League tie

The Light Blues face the Greeks at Ibrox on Tuesday in a massive first leg tie Panathinaikos legend Giannis Goumas netted the last time they faced Rangers and he's warned the Greek side not to be blown away by the Ibrox atmosphere on Tuesday. ‌ Rangers host Panathinaikos in Glasgow in the second qualifying round of the Champions League with the return in Athens. ‌ The last time the sides met, it finished goalless at Ibrox in 2008 before Goumas opened the scoring for the hosts in the return leg. ‌ But an 81st minute goal from Nacho Novo saw Rangers go through on away goals to send them into the Last 16 in a competition where they eventually went all the way to the final before losing to Zenit St Petersburg in Manchester. And Goumas - who spent his entire career at Panathinaikos and helped Greece win Euro 2004 - is wary of the Ibrox atmosphere. He said: "The key for the tie is for Panathinaikos to withstand the pressure in Scotland. ‌ "I scored a great goal against Rangers in 2008, but it meant nothing because we didn't qualify. "It was a shame because it was one of the best goals of my career. ‌ "Rangers are also undergoing transformation with a new manager and players and we don't know how they will present themselves in these two games. "But they are a Scottish team and we know the Scots bring out that extra passion, especially at home. "The atmosphere in front of their fans will be explosive. That's the key for me, in the first game Panathinaikos will have to withstand the pressure and must try to be able to score without being afraid of the home team. ‌ "They have to go and play their game, get a result and if they do that, I think their task will be easier in the second leg "Any player who wears the Panathinaikos jersey must honour it and give everything they have. There is no need for fear, but there is certainly pressure in Glasgow." Meanwhile, Panathinaikos have slashed ticket prices for their home leg against Rangers next week to just £13 in a bid to get a full house. ‌ The game has been moved to Athens' Olympic Stadium because Panathinaikos' home stadium is still being renovated and they want to get as close to the capacity of 69,000 as possible. Rangers could end up missing out on Conor Coady after new Leicester manager makes telling admission

RANGERS have been hoping to bring Conor Coady to Ibrox all summer. And with time ticking down towards the Light Blues' huge Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos, it seems they may wait to wait even longer for a solution - if indeed one will come at all. Advertisement 2 Conor Coady in Leicester City's pre-season training Credit: Getty Coady, 32, looked to be on the way to Ibrox earlier in the transfer window when new Gers boss Russell Martin made the Leicester City centre-back a top target to strengthen his defence. But so far nothing has materialised, with the Foxes changing managers slowing things down. And last week we saw Coady jet out with the rest of the Leicester squad to Austria as part of their pre-season training, further suggesting he might want to see what his future holds at the club before finalising a move elsewhere. Then after Leicester won 1-0 against Zalaegerzegi of Hungary on Saturday, boss Marti Cifuentes highlighted Coady as a player who impressed him. Advertisement The new manager name dropped the former England international in his post match interview, saying he liked what he saw from him. Cifuentes started by praising some of the young players who had stepped up in the friendly, then pinpointed Coady and fellow defensive veteran Jannik Vestergaard. Cifuentes said: 'There are a lot of positive things we can bring with us. There are a lot of things to improve, which is normal at this stage. 'I like the intention, the attitude, and the application of the team. I like that we wanted to be from day one, a team that is dominant and wants to use possession to attack. The timing of the movement and the rotations, everything will come. Advertisement 'I like, as well, to see the young boys. I'm very happy with what I see from Jeremy [Monga], from Louis [Page], from [JAke] Evans, from all the young guys. 'And, as well, the application of the experienced players. I liked what I saw from Conor, from Jannik [Vestergaard]. It's an interesting mix.' Rangers boss Russell Martin opens up on transfer plans as he delivers updates on Dessers and Igamane Elsewhere, Danilo scored once again for Rangers this pre-season in a friendly win over Hamilton. Martin's side won the match, played behind closed doors, 2-0. Advertisement The Brazilian, who also scored against Barnsley last week, grabbed both goals in the game. It's understood that the following team played the first half against Accies: Jack Butland, James Tavernier, Nasser Djiga, John Souttar, Max Aarons, Mohamed Diomande, Kieran Dowell, Joe Rothwell, Nico Raskin, Findlay Curtis, Danilo. At half-time, with Gers 2-0 up, Martin made nine changes and lined up with: Butland, Tavernier, Manny Fernandez, Declan Rice, Jefte, Djeidi Gassama, Conor Barron, Hamza Igamane, Cyriel Dessers, Nedim Barjami, Oscar Cortes. 2 Advertisement Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
