Marcos Jr. to present a unified set of recommendations aimed at building a future-ready Filipino workforce. The Council emphasized the urgency of aligning education, training, and regulatory reforms with the rapidly evolving demands of the global economy, particularly in light of accelerating technological shifts driven by the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. Pabalate / PPA Pool) Central to PSAC's proposals is the National AI Upskilling Roadmap, a flagship initiative designed to equip every Filipino with the awareness, skills, and confidence to live and work in an AI-powered world. PSAC called for its immediate rollout with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Analytics & AI Association of the Philippines (AAP) proposed as co-leads. The roadmap emphasizes inclusive access, from digital literacy for the general public to advanced AI training for professionals and would be a key component of the National AI Strategy developed and led by the Department of Science and Technology. It would also be integrated into the Education Commission 2 (EDCOM 2)'s National Education and Workforce Development Plan (NatPlan). 'Our goal is simple—create real opportunities for Filipinos to thrive in a fast-changing world,' said Sabin Aboitiz, PSAC Strategic Lead Convenor and Aboitiz Group President and CEO. 'Through stronger collaboration between the private sector and government, we can turn our shared vision into action.' The Council also recommended that the President issue an Executive Order to establish a Cabinet Cluster for Education consisting of the Department of Education (DepEd), CHED, and TESDA in order to ensure close coordination amongst the education agencies in their implementation of EDCOM 2's reform recommendations, particularly the NatPlan. This is aligned with the concurrent resolution that the Senate and the House of Representatives jointly passed on June 11, 2025. To support the country's growing industrial sectors, PSAC also advocated for a 'One-Stop Shop' where the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and all concerned agencies can address regulatory bottlenecks and improve the ease of doing business in high-potential industries like semiconductors, electronics, and smart manufacturing. The Council also provided updates to DepEd and Private Sector Jobs and Skills Corporation (PCORP) Senior High School (SHS) enhanced work immersion mini pilot program, reflecting current work environments and providing age-appropriate, practical experiences. Following a successful mini pilot with private sector partners, and a 96% completion rate, a full pilot is being launched in SY 2025-2026. PSAC also showcased its ongoing, high-impact programs already transforming the workforce landscape. The SM J.O.B.S. (Job Opportunities Building Skills) initiative, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), continues to create immediate employment opportunities, reaching over 32,000 job seekers and hiring almost 5,000 on the spot in 48 simultaneous job fairs nationwide on Labor Day and Independence Day. 'The AI tsunami is no longer coming — it is already here. And in a country where millions risk being left behind by automation, misinformation, and digital exclusion, the National AI Upskilling Roadmap is an urgent necessity,' said Fred Ayala, PSAC Education and Jobs Committee Co-Lead. 'This is about empowering every Filipino, regardless of age or background, with the skills and confidence to survive, thrive, and lead in an AI-driven world. We cannot afford to wait. The time to act, with the leadership of the government and the active participation of the private sector, is now,' Ayala added. The Digital Leadership Training Program for civil servants is also being scaled to reach 50,000 learners by 2027, preparing government leaders to thrive in a digital-first environment, with training to be provided by the Civil Service Institute, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and private sector higher education institutions Asia Pacific College and Mapua University. I was scammed out of hundreds by ‘Jennifer Aniston' who told me she loved me & needed cash for her ‘Apple subscriptions'
A MAN was cruelly scammed out of £200 after being sweet-talked by a fake Jennifer Aniston begging for cash for 'Apple subscriptions'. Paul Davis, 43, from Southampton, handed over the money after believing he was talking to the Friends star on Facebook. 7 7 7 7 Paul says he was targeted by an army of AI scammers pretending to be A-list stars - including the Friends legend herself - in a bizarre new wave of deepfake fraud. The unemployed Brit, who battles depression, revealed how he was bombarded with dozens of eerily convincing videos from bogus celebrity accounts. Some fraudulently posed as tech titans Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. But it was a phoney Aniston who finally fooled him after sending what looked like her driving licence. The fraudster also told Paul she 'loved him' before asking for money. Paul said: 'I've had fake videos from Jennifer Aniston saying she loves me and asking for £200. I believed it – and I paid.' The cruel scam saw him send £200 worth of non-refundable Apple gift cards to the supposed Hollywood sweetheart. 'I got bitten,' he added. 'Once bitten, twice shy.' The shocking con is part of a terrifying rise in AI-powered scams, with crooks creating scarily real deepfake clips of celebs to trick unsuspecting victims out of their cash and private info. Paul says he's been relentlessly harassed for months, receiving fake messages every day claiming he's won everything from mega cash prizes to a flashy Range Rover. My mum's being scammed by an AI deepfake of 'Owen Wilson' who paid her £7 to 'prove' his identity - would you fall for it? One video even showed a fake Zuckerberg declaring: 'This is not a scam - believe me' while flashing a dodgy ID. Another sent him a bogus 'certificate from Facebook' claiming he'd scooped £500k and a luxury motor. 'They make it look so real,' Paul said. 'It's been going on for five months. I thought someone would get in trouble for this, but they seem to be having a laugh – and getting away with it.' Worryingly, Paul says he's not the only one falling victim. He revealed: 'Someone I know's lost over a grand in Apple gift cards to these scams." Now, struggling with his mental health and unable to work, Paul says the constant barrage of cons is taking its toll. 7 7 7 The 43-year-old says he is sharing his story in a bid to warn others and stop the scammers in their tracks. It comes after a scammer who conned a French woman out of nearly £700,000 by pretending to be Brad Pitt was unmasked in Nigeria. Interior designer Anne, 53, was scammed into funding a fake cancer treatment for the star after receiving AI-generated selfies and sweet-talking texts. The cruel romance con lasted over a year, costing Anne her fortune, her marriage, and her mental health. Eventually a crack team discovered the scammer's identity, his Nigerian base, and 34 other victims. Meanwhile, another woman put out a call for help after noticing her mum fall for an AI deepfake scam of Owen Wilson. The unnamed woman took to Reddit, revealing both she and her sister had failed to convince her mum that the man she was chatting to was not the real actor. She decided to share the AI deepfake video her mum had been sent by ' Owen Wilson' with the title 'Owen Wilson befriended my mother.' What are deepfakes? Here's what you need to know... Deepfakes use artificial intelligence and machine learning to produce face-swapped videos with barely any effort They can be used to create realistic videos that make celebrities appear as though they're saying something they didn't Deepfakes have also been used by sickos to make fake porn videos that feature the faces of celebrities or ex-lovers To create the videos, users first track down an XXX clip featuring a porn star that looks like an actress They then feed an app with hundreds – and sometimes thousands – of photos of the victim's face A machine learning algorithm swaps out the faces frame-by-frame until it spits out a realistic, but fake, video To help other users create these videos, pervs upload "facesets", which are huge computer folders filled with a celebrity's face that can be easily fed through the "deepfakes" app

PS6 console will be all about AI but not in a bad way, reveals AMD
A statement from AMD, about their work on the PS6, describes how they'll use AI, as Sony confirms support for ChatGPT. The Nintendo Switch 2 only just launched but within the next two years we're very likely to see the next generation Xbox and the PlayStation 6 as well. That in turn means we'll soon start to get more official details about the new hardware, from both companies. In fact, just the other week, Microsoft confirmed they were making both a home and portable console, following a multi-year deal with chipmaker AMD. As is often the case, companies like AMD often end up making chips for rival consoles and they're also providing the tech for the PlayStation 6. As such, they've just made it very clear how much it will rely on AI, in what is set to be the most important technology of the next generation. Of course, there isn't really any such thing as AI yet, in terms of software that can think for itself, as the technology that draws creepy looking humans with six fingers is closer to predictive text than it is Skynet. What's currently called AI is more usefully referred to as machine learning, and is very useful for mundane tasks, such as increasing resolution and frame rates in video games, without requiring any additional horsepower. Most modern hardware, including the Switch 2, already makes use of such technology and in a lengthy post on Twitter, Jack Huynh, AMD's senior vice president for computing and graphics, gave a first hint of what he's working on for the PlayStation 6. He didn't use the phrases AI or PlayStation 6 but described how Project Amethyst is a 'co-engineering effort' with Sony that's 'focused on machine learning-driven graphics and gameplay innovations.' The project has two main goals, of designing a hardware architecture 'optimised specifically for machine learning workloads in gaming' and 'developing high-quality neural networks that push the boundaries of real-time game graphics.' He provides specific examples too, such as super resolution in FSR 4 (FidelityFX Super Resolution 4). FSR 4 is a machine-learning resolution upscaler, that will be used for the first time with Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 on PC – assuming you've got a Radeon RX 9000 series graphics chip. Huynh also promised machine learning based frame generation and ray regeneration, in other words tech that will make faster frame rates and ray-tracing easier to do and leave the PlayStation 6's processor free to concentrate on other things. Naturally, no time frame is discussed, but Huynh insists that, 'There's enormous potential ahead, and we're incredibly proud of what we've achieved so far. The future of gaming is bright – and we're just getting started.' Although no one has an issue with upscaling resolutions, frame rate generation is more controversial, because it only creates the illusion of a higher frame rate. It's still whatever it is – 30fps, say – and so while it looks smoother there's often noticeable input lag because the controls are still stuck as what they are. More Trending However, the really controversial stuff is using generative AI to create programming code and assets, which Huynh doesn't touch on in his tweet. Speaking to IGN though, PlayStation chief architect Mark Cerny stated that, 'this will support ChatGPT, if that's what the developers want.' He seems to imply Sony won't be pushing the technology that heavily themselves, but they will be supporting it. Microsoft has already made it very clear that it's intending to use AI for much more than just upscaling and it seems certain that their talk of the next gen Xbox featuring the 'largest technical leap' ever for a generation is based around AI. How different that will make the capabilities of the Xbox and PlayStation 6 is unclear but while Sony is certainly using similar technology it remains to be seen if they have quite the same enthusiasm for AI as Microsoft does.
