A BLANKETY Blank contestant has sadly passed away, with viewers finding out in a tribute at the end of the episode he starred on.
Fans tuning into Blankety Blank on Saturday night were left in shock when they learned that the winning contestant had sadly died.

Nathanael Hill had passed away after filming for the hit show took place.
A tribute flashed up on screen to commemorate his life at the end of the episode hosted by Bradley Walsh, which aired on Saturday night (June 14).
Nathanael was seen winning the show's main prize at the end of the programme tonight.
And fans were devastated when his passing was revealed and they learned he had died months ago.

After the show's credits ended, a memorial screen appeared.
The tribute screen simply read: "Nathanael Hill 1985 - 2025."
After the tribute flashed up on screen at the end, one person penned: "Jesus. RIP Nathaniel."
A second then said: "Well I don't normally bother with the credits at the end of #blanketyblank but that was a sad way to finish a jolly show."

"Well I wasn't expecting that. Poor Nathaniel. RIP," said a third.
A fourth then penned: "Rest in perfect peace, Nathanael Hill."

While a fifth added: "Aw that was a beautiful touch at the end."
At just 39 years of age, Nathanael died in April 2025, according to a Liverpool Echo report.

The game show star was from Kirkby in Merseyside, and was a doting dad.
He worked as an armour officer in the air force and during his time he completed six tours of Iraq, four tours of Afghanistan and worked on Operation Red Flag.
During a stint in south-central Asia, Nathanael got injured by shrapnel from a roadside bomb.
The bomb was remotely detonated and was medically discharged.

Four years after leaving the military Nathanael was diagnosed with late-onset type 1 diabetes.
Doctors also found a blood clot in his leg amid the coronavirus pandemic.
He then contracted three bouts of sepsis and decided to have an above-knee amputation on his leg in October 2022.
After the amputation Nathanael began coaching and got back into triathlons.

He was also on the UK paratriathlon pathway with a goal of competing for Team GB.
Nathanael's cause of death is not known.
Tributes were paid to Nathanael after news of his death broke two months ago.
Tritons RUFC shared a touching tribute for their "dear friend and former player".

The tribute read: "It is with deep sadness that Liverpool Tritons RUFC announces the passing of our dear friend, former player, and coach, Nathanael Hill – known to many simply as Nate.
"Nate was a cherished member of the Tritons for several years. As both a formidable player on the pitch and a passionate, dedicated coach off it, Nate brought skill, heart, and a contagious enthusiasm to everything he did.
"His commitment to inclusive rugby and to our community helped shape the club into what it is today."
The tribute added: "More than his achievements in the game, Nate will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humour, and the unwavering support he showed to teammates, new players, and friends alike.

"His loss will be felt deeply across the club and far beyond."
Before his death, Nathanael revealed his dream of achieving gold for Team GB at the 2028 LA Paralympics.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo last year about his Team GB dreams, Nathanael said: 'If I get to represent Team GB it would just be a full circle. It would be a swan song for me.
"My last engagement for the Air Force was opening the London 2012 Olympics games and the 2023 Olympics is going to be in LA, America, where I was recognised for saving two American officers' lives.

"Now, I can be seen as overcoming this next challenge and to be competing in their country."

Meghan Markle's 'major role' in Harry's bid to repair royal rift with King Charles
Hopes have been raised that the channel of communication between Prince Harry and King Charles is beginning to open - and an expert has predicted what this could mean for Meghan Markle After months of radio silence, there seems to be a flicker of hope that the relationship between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, could potentially be mended. A meeting of top aides for both father and son has led many to believe it is the first tentative steps in them reconciling after Harry revealed earlier this year they are no longer on speaking terms. The Duke of Sussex has levelled a series of accusations against his family, and in his controversial memoir, Spare, said his brother, Prince William, had physically attacked him and that the King put his own interests above Harry's and was jealous of Meghan. Of course, a potential reunion between Harry and Charles could have a wide-ranging effect, not least on Meghan, who has been building her business empire of late after launching her As Ever lifestyle brand. So would she welcome a reunion, too? Well, according to BBC royal expert Jennie Bond, she believes Meghan would definitely be supportive. She explained to the Mirror: "It's important to remember that the King and Meghan had a warm and affectionate relationship at the start. Harry wrote about how jovial and animated his father was when they used to visit him, for example, talking to Meghan about music. "And they were both touched by his fatherly gesture of walking her down part of the aisle at their wedding. Of course, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then, and emotions are still running high. But my belief is that Meghan loves Harry and wants him to be happy. "And if a reconciliation with his father, which he has said he wants, will make him happy, then I think Meghan would be supportive. "I think she would also welcome the chance for her children to get to know their grandfather and understand their heritage. There are unconfirmed reports that she used to send him videos of the children before the rift with Harry became so deep. "There's no doubt that the King would be delighted to have the chance to know Archie and Lilibet. He has already missed so much of their young lives, and children grow up so quickly." In recent months, Harry and Meghan's careers have gone in different directions, with Harry concentrating on charity and philanthropic efforts and Meghan focusing on her business ventures. So would a potential reconciliation have repercussions for Meghan's business? Jennie added: "I don't see that she is doing anything commercially that is distasteful or problematic. After all, the King sells jams and a wide range of products - admittedly only for charity. "As long as she doesn't do anything that would cause embarrassment for the Royal Family, I don't see any difficulties. She and Harry have made a clean break as far as being official working royals are concerned. But I think most people would hope that a now elderly father and his son could be reconciled before it's too late. "Remember what Charles said to William and Harry as they fought in the gardens of Frogmore House after the late Duke of Edinburgh's funeral: 'Please, boys, don't make my final years a misery'. A reconciliation could still be a very long way away….but if it happens, Harry will have gone some way to fulfilling his father's wish." One party that didn't seem involved in the so-called peace summit last week was Prince William. According to a source, he remains "deeply wounded" by Harry and has no plans to contact him, even if he reconciles with other Royal Family members. And Jennie said it would be a much harder task to reconcile the brothers - especially after Harry's barbs about his sister-in-law, Kate. She said: "It is a hugely difficult situation for a father, with loyal William at his side and rebellious Harry in California. The brothers are still miles apart in every sense. I imagine the King would have warned William about the meeting. I hope so, anyway. "I think William might find it in his heart to forgive Harry's jibes about their sibling rivalry, his indiscretions about their disagreements and fights. But I don't think he is in any way ready to forgive Harry for hurting Catherine and revealing a row about bridesmaids' dresses and a disagreement about lip gloss. Never say never, but reconciliation between William and Harry still seems a very distant prospect."

Lauren Lyle returns to play the title character, with the series again being adapted by Emer Kenny from one of Val McDermid's novels. Karen has now been promoted to the role of detective inspector and has a cold case to solve. The synopsis for season 2 says: "The 1984 case of Catriona and Adam Grant has confounded investigators and intrigued the public like no other. "Catriona, the charming young heiress to a vast oil fortune, and her two-year-old son Adam, were brutally kidnapped at gunpoint outside a fish and chip shop in Fife. "The ransom notes that followed stirred up an uncontrollable press storm, but when the culprits fell silent, the police faltered, and Catriona and Adam were never seen again." It continues: "Now, a man's body has been discovered, with indisputable links to the original kidnap. "With the first piece of evidence in decades, Karen must assemble an unbeatable team alongside her sincere and lovable sidekick DC Jason 'Mint' Murray (Chris Jenks) and the brilliant – but romantically complicated – DS Phil Parhatka (Zach Wyatt)." Speaking with the Radio Times about the new series, Lauren Lyle shared: "With a slight sense of not wanting it, she has become the boss and doesn't quite know what to do with that. She has the authority now, but she doesn't know what to do with it. "As she was in season 1, she naturally goes against the rules, and she naturally is very good at her job, but she doesn't necessarily know why or how she's doing it. "So we find her as the head of everyone, and it's still quite funny that she's very small and sarcastic and unsure, but somehow has to pull it all together."
