Jawed Shaikh is already being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) about why Mir Mehmood Ali Khan, a descendant of Salar Jung, gifted the driver prime land worth hundreds of crores. On July 3, Shaikh received a fresh summons under section 131(1A) of the Income Tax Act 1961, requesting his attendance in connection with proceedings under the Act in his case. Section 131(1A) grants the I-T department the authority to enforce an individual's attendance, discover and inspect any property, and issue commissions.
It also allows the department to examine the assessee on oath and compel the production of necessary books of accounts and all relevant documents.
The I-T department warned in its notice that any default by Jawed Shaikh would attract action under section 272A(1)(C) of the I-T Act, empowering the investigation officer to impose a penalty of Rs 10,000 for each default.
Jawed Shaikh, a trusted aide of the Bhumres, became the focus of the investigation after Mir Mehmood Ali Khan gifted him prime plots valued at hundreds of crores.
There are allegations that Jawed received approximately 8.5 acres in two instalments through hibanama (gift deed). The combined market valuation of these plots is about Rs 500 crores.
Documents revealed that both transactions had common witnesses, and the bonds were purchased from the same notary lawyer. Applications to add Jawed Shaikh's name to the PR card for both properties were made on Feb 9, 2023, and his name was recorded on the PR card on May 25, 2023, and June 28, 2024, respectively.

These prime plots are located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city, where the economic offences wing of the city police is already investigating a related complaint. In the past few weeks, the EOW has recorded statements from Khan, four of his children, and Jawed Shaik. Unsatisfied with their responses, the EOW plans to summon them again to cooperate in the inquiry.
Phone calls and messages sent to Jawed for his comments did not elicit any response.

Amid complaints of lack of cooperation by officials, UP CM Yogi Adityanath holds dialogue with MPs, MLAs

Amid complaints of lack of cooperation by officials on the ground, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called a meeting with the MPs, MLAs and officials concerned from Kanpur, Chitrakoot and Jhansi divisions before giving approvals to development projects and schemes in their areas. The idea behind such a meeting, referred to as 'mandalwar samvad' (divisional dialogue), is to hold discussion with the public representatives before giving shape to projects and schemes in their constituencies, sources said. Similar division-level meetings will be held in the future, an official said. The move is being seen as an attempt by the Chief Minister to resolve purported differences between officials and public representatives at the grassroots level in the run-up to the upcoming panchayat elections and the 2027 Assembly polls in the state. In the meeting, which was held at the CM's official residence in Lucknow, projects worth Rs 4,901 crore were finalised for Jhansi division, projects worth Rs 3,875 crore for Chitrakoot division and about projects worth Rs 10,914 crore were okayed for six districts of Kanpur division, it is learnt. Officials said public representatives were given the opportunity to propose schemes and projects for their areas, on which discussion was held over their viability and other issues. The projects proposed by the MLAs included that of road connectivity, irrigation, logistical hubs and approach roads to religious places. 'During the meeting, the Chief Minister asked the officials to take the opinion of the public representatives before finalising the projects for their constituencies and areas. While he asked the public representatives to monitor the implementation of government schemes in their areas and ensure their proper implementation,' said a senior official. 'He took feedback from the MLAs and MPs about the ground situation, administrative coordination and public expectations in their constituencies,' he added. The Chief Minister also directed the officials to ensure that the names of local representatives are engraved on the foundation or inauguration stones of development projects, he said. In the past, many public representatives, including ministers, have raised concern over lack of cooperation by officials in the implementation of projects or resolution of public grievances in their constituencies. 'Officials were given instructions by the Chief Minister keeping in view the issues raised by the public representatives. It is a healthy exercise as we as public representatives approach officials with the public issues so that things change on the ground,' said an MLA, who attended the meeting on Sunday.

How much salary is paid by bankrupt Pakistan to Army Chief Asim Munir? The amount is SHOCKING! It is Rs…, is it more than Indian Army Chief's salary?

Asim Munir (File) Pakistan Army Chief Salary: Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir, who elevated himself to the position of Field Marshal after falsely proclaiming 'victory' in the recent India-Pakistan conflict, is the de-facto ruler of the country, while the civilian government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is little more than a puppet regime, designed to be subservient to the Army. But how much does Field Marshal Asim Munir officially earn in monthly salary? Let us find out. What is the salary of Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir? Its an open secret that the Pakistan economy is in complete ruin, yet its Army, especially the top brass live a lavish lifestyle comparable to the world's richest, while the masses struggle to find two square meals a day. In terms of salary, Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir receives a monthly salary of PKR 250,000, which is equivalent to about Rs. 75,000, a meagre amount compared to his Indian counterpart General Anil Chauhan, who earns a monthly salary of Rs 250,000, which equals to about 8.25 lakh in Pakistan Rupee (PKR). Thus, the Indian Army Chief earns three times more salary than the Pakistan Army Chief, showcasing the vast gulf in the economic strength of the two countries. Does Asim Munir get any additional facilities after Field Marshal elevation? While Asim Munir's salary remains the same, the post of Field Marshal is considered the highest in any army, and thus accompanied by a multitude of perks and facilities. The new title comes with top-of-the-line facilities including a posh government bungalow, additional security, cars, medical facilities, and lifelong pension. Notably, Army Chief is considered the most powerful figure in Pakistan, even ahead of the Prime Minister, and this was evident when US President Donald Trump recently hosted Asim Munir for a luncheon at the White House, a privilege usually reserved for Heads of State. Meanwhile, apart from the salary, the Pakistan Army chief enjoys certain other perks that accompany the top post, including free membership in elite clubs, a lavish private bungalow, additional security, government-funded transport, Additionally, the Pakistan Army owns several businesses as a corporation, including dairy and transport firms, which adds to the income of Army Chief General Asim Munir and other top brass of the Pakistan Army.
