2025 Ford Transit Custom PHEV, E-Transit Custom priced for Australia

Ford Australia has confirmed pricing for the new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and electric (EV) versions of its
Transit Custom
van, ahead of the
first customer deliveries
in the third quarter of 2025.
Two variants are available with each powertrain. The Transit Custom PHEV Trend LWB and Sport SWB are the cheapest of the four, priced at $67,590 and $69,990 before on-roads respectively.
The E-Transit Custom, meanwhile, is also available in Trend LWB and Sport SWB guises, albeit at considerably higher prices of $77,590 and $79,990 before on-roads respectively.
All four electrified mid-size delivery vans are therefore positioned above the existing turbo-diesel Transit Custom variants, which range in price from $56,590 for the base Trend SWB to $62,990 plus on-roads for the Sport Double Cab.

With a focus on maximising storage space through efficient underfloor battery packaging, the Transit Custom PHEV and E-Transit Custom both offer the same interior load space dimensions as their turbo-diesel counterparts.
VDA load space is therefore 5.2m³ in short-wheelbase variants, and 6.0m³ in long-wheelbase versions. Maximum payload ranges from 1111kg to 1206kg, depending on kerb weights for individual variants, while all electrified models maintain a 2.3-tonne braked towing capacity.
Transit Custom PHEV vehicles mate a 2.5-litre petrol engine, producing 86kW of power and 209Nm of torque, with an 111kW/320Nm electric motor. Total system power outputs are quoted at 171kW, with power sent to the front wheels only.
Ford claims combined fuel consumption of just 1.7L/100km, along with an electric-only driving range of 54km based on the WLTP cycle, thanks to a liquid-cooled 11.8kWh battery.
In contrast, E-Transit Customs are powered by a single, rear-mounted motor producing 160kW and 415Nm, making them rear-wheel drive.
This is fed by a 64kWh battery pack, and WLTP electric driving range is quoted at either 301km or 307km for LWB and SWB models respectively.
Ford has also fitted a heat pump to all E-Transit Customs, while also incorporating a one-pedal driving mode as seen on the all-electric
Mustang Mach-E
.
For context, turbo-diesel Transit Customs utilise a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 125kW and 390Nm. These models are front-drive only, and have a claimed fuel economy of 8.0L/100km.
Inside, the Transit Custom's standard three-abreast seating arrangement has been retained, while all models feature a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
E-Transit Customs gain Ford's Secure Visibility Pack as standard, which offers a digital rear-view mirror via a camera mounted on the rear load door, and removes the load area glazing o improve security. This pack is optional on diesel and PHEV variants.
Safety gear for both the EV and PHEV Transit Customs includes intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane-keeping aid with lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, trailer sway control, side wind stabilisation, and a 180-degree rear-view camera.
