Tears for Fears' Roland Orzabal, 64, and his wife Emily, 38, announce they are expecting their first child together

Tears for Fears musician Roland Orzabal and his wife have revealed that they are expecting a baby together.
The musician, 64, and his spouse, photographer Emily Rath Orzabal, 38, shared the happy news on Instagram as they prepare to welcome their first child together.
Emily shared a photo of her showing off her baby bump on social media and captioned simply with a red heart emoji.
The couple 'secretly eloped' and married on Aspen Mountain in Colorado in 2020 after having to postpone their original wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Revealing their private nuptials, Emily posted on Instagram: 'We had to postpone our original wedding date in September 2020 because of Covid.
'I felt as all corona brides have been feeling: angry, sad, gypped, and confused as to when we should have a wedding.
'Roland and I were in the States for work. We desperately wanted to get married, even just legally, and so to honour our original date, we secretly eloped, just the two of us, atop a mountain in Aspen. It was the most magical moment of my life.
'It breaks my heart that my family could not be there to see it, but no one wanted to risk their safety.
'Two weddings was never my dream, but we adapted, separating the legal wedding from the celebratory wedding to come.'
She continued: 'In September we were able to use the autumnal flowers we'd originally wanted, and next year we can have all of the spring flowers!
'We got married at 11,212 ft high on Aspen Mountain, whereas next year will be inside an incredible venue.
'I wore a stunning Amanda Wakeley dress, which flowed in the wind so beautifully, and next year I will be wearing Phillipa Lepley.
'I still don't feel as though I've had a wedding, because it was just the two of us, and it was a secret. We have yet to have a first dance or a honeymoon!
'But, six months into marriage, I am so happy, and cannot wait to marry Roland again next year, with all of our favourite people around us. We've been planning that one for a very very long time, so it should be extraordinary!'
A year after Roland and Emily's elopement in 2020, they had a celebratory wedding with friends and family at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England.
Roland is one half of Tears For Fears with Curt Smith and their hits include Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Head over Heels.
He already has two sons, Pascal and Raoul, from his previous marriage to Caroline Orzabal.
Caroline died in July 2017 aged 54 after suffering from alcoholism-related dementia and cirrhosis, which followed a depression diagnosis.
Following the passing of Caroline with whom he was married to since 1982, Roland told The Irish Times that his life 'sort of fell apart in 2018' and he went to rehab.
The traumatic events in his personal life eventually led to Tears For Fears writing their seventh studio LP The Tipping Point.
Tears For Fears released the song Emily Said on October 25, 2024, inspiring which Emily to post on her Instagram: 'It's a good day for Emilys around the world because @tearsforfearsmusic just released a song about us.'

Matthew Perry's doctor admits to selling actor drugs before his death

Dr Salvador Plasencia pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles courtroom to distributing ketamine to actor Matthew Perry in the weeks leading up to his 2023 overdose death. Plasencia, the fourth person to plead guilty in connection with the case, changed his plea as part of a deal, avoiding three additional counts of ketamine distribution and two counts of record falsification. His attorney stated Plasencia is "profoundly remorseful" and intends to voluntarily surrender his medical licence, acknowledging his failure to protect Perry, who was vulnerable due to addiction. Prosecutors allege Plasencia illegally supplied Perry with 20 vials of ketamine and lozenges for $4,500, with a co-defendant suggesting Plasencia saw Perry as someone to exploit for money. Plasencia remains free on bond until his sentencing in December, while Jasveen Sangha, alleged to be the "Ketamine Queen" who sold Perry the fatal dose, is the only remaining defendant yet to reach an agreement.

See what Leonardo DiCaprio's Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood co-star Julia Butters looks like now at 16

Julia Butters, who shot to fame aged 10 in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, was spotted on this week's buzziest red carpet. In the 2019 Quentin Tarantino film, she featured as a plucky child actress called Trudi Fraser who works with Leonardo DiCaprio 's has-been Western star Rick Dalton. She made an unforgettable impression, earning a shower of nominations from outfits like the Critics' Choice Movie Awards and the Hollywood Film Critics Association. Hopping from one legendary director to another, Julia then landed a supporting role in Steven Spielberg 's semiautobiographical 2022 movie The Fabelmans. Now 16, Julia is part of the cast of the new Freaky Friday sequel Freakier Friday, and attended the film's glittering Los Angles premiere this Tuesday. She posed at the iconic El Capitan Theater amid a cavalcade of famous faces, including the motion picture's leads Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, who respectively play Julia's mother and grandmother. Julia comes from a showbiz family as the daughter of animator Darrin Butters, who has worked on films like Frozen, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph and Moana. She herself started acting in commercials as a little girl before making her TV series debut with a guest shot on Criminal Minds in 2014, the year she turned five. Her first feature film was the 2016 action extravaganza 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, directed by Michael Bay and starring John Krasinski. Julia's big break arrived shortly thereafter when Quentin Tarantino cast her in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood as a child actress on a TV Western. She has admitted that when she first showed up on set, she 'didn't know' who Quentin was and 'didn't know who anybody else was, either,' up to and including her globally recognized co-stars Leo, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. Her mother Lorelei had to explain to her that 'everyone here is famous,' Julia shared in a Vanity Fair interview around the time of the film's release. Audiences and critics alike were enchanted by her performance, as was Leo, who gushed publicly that Julia was like a young Meryl Streep. She joined her castmates on the awards show circuit and charmed fans by bringing a packed meal to the Oscars, which had a 70 percent plant-based dinner menu. She is pictured with her co-stars (from left) Manny Jacinto, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Sophia Hammons and Chad Michael Murray at the event In the sequel, Lindsay's character has a daughter and a stepdaughter-to-be, and the three of them - plus Jamie Lee's character - wind up in a four-way body swap 'I don't like some of the food here,' she remarked, by way of explaining the turkey sandwich she was carrying in her $2,495 Marzook purse. In the intervening years, her roles have included a character based on Steven Spielberg's sister Anne in the filmmaker's 2022 picture The Fabelmans. Her career continued apace with a voice role last year on the Monsters, Inc. spin-off show Monsters at Work - and now with her star turn in Freakier Friday. Freaky Friday, which came out in 2003, was based on a novel by Mary Rodgers, the daughter of The Sound of Music and Oklahoma! composer Richard Rodgers. Jamie Lee and Lindsay starred respectively as a mother and daughter who switch bodies, enabling them to develop a greater understanding of each other. In the sequel, Lindsay's character has a daughter and a stepdaughter-to-be, and the three of them - plus Jamie Lee's character - wind up in a four-way body swap.

Jessica Simpson suffers embarrassing wardrobe malfunction during Today show concert

She entitled her memoir Open Book. But Jessica Simpson inadvertently revealed more than intended with fans during a performance on the Today show. Whilst hitting the stage, Jessica's taupe dress slipped down her cleavage - showing off her pink bra. Ordinarily the corset style dress would cover the entirety of her bust, but for whatever reason, the frock struggled to adhere to her dress. Video of the performance shows Jessica singing through the wardrobe mishap, either unaware of or not minding that accidental bra flash. Fortunately the newly-single star, 40, didn't let the embarrassing mishap ruin her day as she even cracked a joke about it with the Today show correspondents. 'How does it feel back on the stage, the first release in 15 years?' NBC News journalist Peter Alexander asked Simpson. 'It's insane! Of course, like I had a malfunction here,' she said, gesturing her hand beside her head, 'and everywhere, but it's ok! I think my boob's stayed in, so that's good!' she quipped. The wardrobe mishap wasn't Jessica's only head-turning moment during her Today appearance. Jessica also took a swipe at her dating history while sharing her list of relationship non-negotiables during an interview with host Jenna Bush Hager. When asked what she is looking for in her next partner, the singer and entrepreneur shared the criteria she's looking for in a man. 'My type of person is a one-of-a-kind,' she gushed. 'I don't have like, a look or anything like that. I just like for somebody to be individually who they are and exude confidence without the ego.' The performer, who split from Eric Johnson after 10 years of marriage earlier this year, explained she's had trouble finding someone self-assured, but not cocky. 'I feel like it's out there, and I don't need somebody to be supportive of me all the time,' the mother-of-three added. 'I feel like the independence I have right now, if I can have that and give it to someone else, that would be cool.' Her comment about wanting 'confidence without the ego' seemed to point to her rocky relationship with first husband Nick Lachey. While writing about their split in her 2020 memoir, Open Book, she admitted: 'We really got crushed by the media and by ourselves.' 'I respect Nick very much. I was really young and my success hadn't really begun. He knew me as this young innocent 18-year-old that had never been introduced to the world in so many ways,' she explained. 'I went straight from my father to him. Nick's very smart. He was eight years older than me, but he was also young.' As documented on their reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, the former couple struggled with his resentment of her career. 'We were not one of those couples that screamed at each other, let whatever fly out of our mouths, and then make mad, passionate love,' she added. 'We would yell at each other, and then he would go out of town and not answer his phone.' During her Today interview, Simpson also noted that she has no plans to walk down the aisle, but is 'very passionate' and has 'a lot to give.' Simpson also emphasized that whoever she dates next has to be 'a very good kisser.' 'See, that's like the most intimate thing. Grab my face and pull me in! Can you tell I need it?' the I Wanna Love You Forever hitmaker mused. Hager, 43, then assured Simpson that she would find her a match and one that could live up to her smooching standards. 'Even if it's just one night!' Simpson playfully shot back.
