Car catches fire after slamming into tree in Fontana; 1 dead, 4 hurt
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, crews responded to Arrow Boulevard and Sierra Avenue at 2:25 a.m. and found the wrecked car, a white Subaru, in the median.
The Subaru, which sustained extensive damage, caught fire after the collision, but the flames were quickly extinguished, officials said.
Firefighters then used extrication tools to free the trapped victims in approximately 12 minutes.
'A total of four patients were transported to local hospitals, including three to a regional trauma center,' the department said on social media. 'A fifth passenger was declared dead at the scene.'

None of the victims' identities were released, nor was any additional information surrounding their conditions.
Further details about the crash were not disclosed by the county fire department, which stated that the Fontana Police Department is handling the investigation.

Champaign Police Dept. investigating after garage hit by gunfire
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A garage in Champaign was hit by gunfire several times late last week. Although no injuries were reported, multiple residents, including several minors, were inside the home during the incident. Champaign Police officers responded near the area of N. Market and E. Roper Streets just before 10 p.m. on July 30 after a report that shots had been fired. ‘Injuries reported' in Monday morning crash on I-57 in Champaign
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — At least one person is hurt following a single-vehicle rollover crash on northbound I-57 in Champaign on Monday. The crash happened just before 5 a.m. between Interstates 72 and 74. Officials with the Illinois State Police said only one vehicle was involved, and it rolled over.
