The fixture marks Nepal's first match in the series, following a successful ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tour in Scotland, where the team secured three wins from four matches.
The Netherlands lost their series opener to hosts Scotland by 39 runs on Sunday and will be aiming to bounce back. Both Nepal and the Netherlands are looking for their first win in this T20 series.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has named a 16-member squad led by captain Rohit Paudel. The squad features new faces, including Kiran Thagunna, Lokesh Bam, and Rupesh Singh, who have been called up to replace key players Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha. Both Kami and Jha sustained injuries during practice and were also unavailable for Nepal's final League 2 fixture against the Netherlands.
Nepal's match against the Netherlands is set to begin at 7:45 PM Nepali time. The T20 series, hosted in Scotland, includes Nepal, Scotland, and the Netherlands, and follows the conclusion of the League 2 campaign.

Tigers Announce Kerry Carpenter Update After Eight Straight Missed Games

Tigers Announce Kerry Carpenter Update After Eight Straight Missed Games originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Kerry Carpenter is in his fourth major-league season with the Detroit Tigers after making his debut in 2022. Advertisement During his first three seasons in Detroit, Carpenter faced primarily right-handed pitching and dominated the platoon advantage, consistently delivering against right-handed pitching. In 2024, he had a .284 batting average with a .932 OPS and 18 home runs, despite appearing in just 87 games. Carpenter also emerged as a postseason hero last October, mashing a three-run home run in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Cleveland Guardians. This year, in 2025, he has taken his at-bats against both lefties and righties and continued to produce, though his overall numbers have dipped slightly. Detroit Tigers designated hitter Kerry Carpenter (30)© Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images On June 29, during a road game against the Minnesota Twins, Carpenter suffered a right hamstring injury while running the bases and exited in the fifth inning after tacking on an RBI triple. The team removed him immediately to prevent further damage, and he was placed on the 10-day injured list. Advertisement Ahead of Tuesday's series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays, Detroit announced that Carpenter is completing a return to play running progression. He's also swinging the bat and completing defensive drills daily. In 78 games this season—his first as an everyday player—Carpenter owns a .257 batting average, .780 OPS, 16 home runs and 32 RBIs. He's been a key contributor to a Tigers offense that averages five runs per game, tied for fifth in all of MLB. With Detroit holding baseball's best record at 58–34, Carpenter's offensive production has played a huge role in keeping the Tigers at the top of the American League standings. Fans Saddened by NFL's Snub of Vikings' Andrew Van Ginkel

Fans Saddened by NFL's Snub of Vikings' Andrew Van Ginkel originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Andrew Van Ginkel may be an All-Pro, but he may still be overlooked. The Minnesota Vikings edge rusher signed a two-year, $20 million contract to reunite with Brian Flores last season and made a statement from the outset. Advertisement In Week 1, he snared a screen pass from New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and returned it for a pick six -- a preview of the type of season to come from the former fifth-round pick from Rock Valley, Iowa. Van Ginkel went on to have an All-Pro season, tallying a career-high 11.5 sacks, two pick-sixes, 79 tackles and 18 tackles for loss. He doubled his worth to the Vikings, who promptly re-upped and extended him an additional year to the tune of $23 million. The NFL recognized Van Ginkel, naming him to the "Top 100 Players of 2025" list for the first time in his career. But fans are upset with where he landed. Advertisement Minnesota Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (43)Matt Krohn-Imagn Images Upon the NFL's announcement that Van Ginkel was ranked No. 88 overall, fans took to social media to voice their displeasure with his placement on the list. "At least 40 spots too low," one fan wrote. "This is actually criminally low like there's gotta be voter fraud," a second fan replied. "This man deserves to be so SOOOO much higher on here," a third fan said. "You couldn't convince me there's 87 better players in the nfl then ginkle," a fourth fan added. How many outside linebackers that will be named ahead of Van Ginkel will be interesting to see. He was a dark-horse candidate for Defensive Player of the Year, and had he not dropped a Week 5 pick-six opportunity against Aaron Rodgers, he could have been at the forefront of that conversation. Advertisement Overall, Van Ginkel earned tremendous respect from his peers for making the list for the first time in career. Another impressive season under Flores could catapult him much higher now that he has a foothold in the top 100. Related: Vikings' Justin Jefferson Dealt Disrespect Due to J.J. NFL Turns Heads With Tuesday Message About Patrick Mahomes

NFL Turns Heads With Tuesday Message About Patrick Mahomes originally appeared on Athlon Sports. While training camp is still a few weeks away, it's already clear where Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' focus lies. Advertisement During a recent interview on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, released on Monday, Mahomes said, 'I feel like I've had to sit back and just listen to people talk and talk, and I'm like, 'Let's just play football and handle it all out there.'' Mahomes and the Chiefs are still reeling from the sour taste left in their mouths after a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. The defeat came just as Kansas City was on the verge of making NFL history with a potential third consecutive Lombardi Trophy. Instead, it was the Eagles who came out on top—and now the Chiefs must start from scratch in their quest to return to the big game. With Mahomes already dialed in, the NFL raised eyebrows with its latest post about the superstar quarterback on Tuesday. "Year 9 loading for @PatrickMahomes," NFL posted. Advertisement Fans quickly reacted to the post, which featured recent photos of Mahomes as he prepares to enter his ninth NFL season. "Top 5 ever but think his Super Bowl runs are over," a fan boldly said. Someone else added, "Patrick is the face of the NFL." Another person wrote, "Get ready for more magic, Year 9 is about to be unreal." "Yesss year 9 is gonna be one of his best years. I can feel it go, Patrick," one more fan commented. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (15).Denny Medley-Imagn Images Mahomes' 2024 campaign, statistically, wasn't up to his usual standard—though he remained the clutch quarterback he's always been since entering the league. He finished the season completing 67.5% of his passes for 3,928 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Over the past two seasons, he's totaled 43 touchdown passes and 25 interceptions, which could suggest he's due for a big bounce-back year—especially with a revamped arsenal of weapons at his disposal.
