Selangor authorities detain five men suspected of subsidised diesel fleet card fraud
The ministry's state director, Mohd Zuhairi Mat Radey, said the suspects, aged 30 to 45, were arrested during a raid on an illegal storage site in Sri Muda, Section 25.
The operation, involving 25 ministry officers and the Selangor Police Contingent headquarters, took place around 7pm following a month-long intelligence gathering.
"We seized a 30-ton tanker truck, four canvas trucks, two bonded trucks each carrying intermediate bulk containers (IBC), a van and a modified prime mover," he told reporters after the operation concluded late Wednesday night.
Mohd Zuhairi added that over 7,000 litres of diesel were recovered from 14 IBC tanks with 1,000-litre capacity each, along with equipment such as motorised pumps and connecting hoses believed to be used for illegal extraction and transfer of diesel.
He stated that the premises lacked a valid license to store subsidised diesel, while the detained bonded truck drivers also did not possess the necessary legal documentation to hold the controlled item.
"The modus operandi involved bonded truck drivers using fleet cards to purchase subsidised diesel at petrol stations around Shah Alam," he explained.
The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act, 1961, with a focus on identifying individuals, companies and distribution networks involved in the illegal diesel supply chain. – Bernama

"A detention order was issued for the vessel. The captain and the second engineer were taken to the Marine Police Jetty in Pulau Indah for further investigation,' he said in a statement on Friday (July 4). KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained a tanker carrying 62,000 litres of diesel without valid documentation in the waters off Port Klang. Selangor MMEA director Maritime Captain Abdul Muhaimin Muhammad Salleh said the vessel was intercepted about one nautical mile west of Tanjung Harapan at 1.30pm yesterday during a routine patrol under Op Ehsan, Op Murni, and Op Tiris 3.0. "Initial checks showed that the tanker was helmed by a 43-year-old Indonesian captain, accompanied by six crew members aged between 21 and 51, all of whom were also Indonesians. "Each crew member held valid identification documents. "However, the captain failed to produce documentation authorising the transport of the diesel, which is classified as a controlled item," he said in a statement. As a result, Muhaimin said a detention order was issued for the vessel. Both the captain and the vessel's second engineer were arrested and taken to the marine police jetty in Pulau Indah for further investigation. The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for failure to obtain valid permits or special licences from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry to possess, store, or transport controlled goods. Perak KPDN seizes 225 LPG cylinders, two lorries worth over RM450,000
IPOH: Enforcement officers from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized 225 LPG cylinders and two lorries worth about RM466,895 in raids at Zarib Industrial Park and Tanjung Malim yesterday (July 2). Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said 14 LPG cylinders with a 50-kilogramme (kg) capacity, 171 cylinders of 14 kg and 40 cylinders of 12 kg were confiscated in the Ops Gasak raids. According to Kamalludin, the LPG cylinders were stored at two premises without valid permits from the Controller of Supplies. "In the first raid at about 11.30am in Tanjung Malim, an enforcement team from the Tapah KPDN branch found a property being used as an LPG storage facility without the required authorisation to store controlled items. "The second raid at 1pm at a food processing factory in Zarib Industrial Park revealed that LPG was being used without a valid licence or permit," he said in a statement today (July 3). Kamalludin said two men, aged 41 and 49, as well as a 28-year-old woman, were arrested during the raids to assist with the investigation.
