Micro-industries will be set up in each Assembly constituency for economic empowerment of women: Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a public meeting in Luxettipet town of Mancherial district on Sunday. Earlier, he laid the foundation stone for a 1MW solar power plant of Indira Mahila Shakti women SHGs at an estimated cost of ₹3 crore at Andugulapet village in the district.
Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu, Health Minister C. Damodar Rajanarsimha and Prohibition & Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and others accompanied him.
The State government is considering launching a special development plan for Adilabad district, he said, recalling the overwhelming response he received from people of the erstwhile Adilabad district during his People's March padayatra before the 2023 Assembly elections.
'We have focused on allocating solar power projects to women's SHGs, he noted, asserting that the government will work for the economic empowerment of women despite financial challenges,' he said.
He criticised the BRS government for abandoning interest-free loans for women, which were introduced by the successive Congress governments in the past. Now, the Congress government has revived the scheme, he added.
In pursuit of our goal to make one crore women into crorepatis, we have distributed interest-free loans worth ₹21,600 crore in the form of cheques to women's SHGs in the first year itself, Mr. Vikramarka said.
He added that the cheques were being handed over to women SHGs in Mancherial on the occasion as part of the ongoing disbursement of interest-free loans across the State.
He noted that the women's groups were provided security and loan support in purchasing buses, which were then leased to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). So far, 150 buses have been leased out to the TGSRTC, and a lease amount of ₹1 crore has been received by the women's groups, he said, adding that the remaining 450 buses will also be leased out to the TGSRTC soon.

Centre lists eight new bills for the monsoon session of Parliament
For the monsoon session of Parliament, which begins on 21 July, the government has listed eight new bills to be introduced, including the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, and the Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill. The session is also set to witness the Opposition INDIA bloc parties demanding that the government brief Parliament on Operation Sindoor, India's foreign relations—especially with China, the proposed India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement, and US President Donald Trump's repeated claims that he used trade as a bargaining chip to persuade India and Pakistan to end their military conflict. On Tuesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also the leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, met Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. 'The Opposition wants a productive Rajya Sabha session from 21 July. For that to happen, several strategic, political, foreign policy, and socio-economic issues that are of great public concern need to be debated and discussed,' Kharge said in a post on X after the meeting. The government is also set to introduce the Geoheritage Sites and Geo-relics (Preservation and Maintenance) Bill, the National Sports Governance Bill, and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill. According to the government's list of business, the Mines and Minerals Bill will seek to provide for the viable recovery of associated critical minerals, inclusion of contiguous areas in a lease for optimal and scientific mining of deep-seated minerals, and widen the scope of the National Mineral Exploration Trust. The Jan Vishwas Bill seeks to foster ease of doing business and promote ease of living. The Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill seeks to include IIM Guwahati in the Schedule of the Act. The Geoheritage Sites and Geo-relics (Preservation and Maintenance) Bill seeks to provide for the declaration, preservation, protection, and maintenance of geoheritage sites and geo-relics of national importance for geological studies. The National Sports Governance Bill aims to establish institutional capacity and standards for the governance of sports federations, as well as measures for the resolution of sports grievances and disputes. In addition to these bills, Parliament will also consider some of the pending bills, including the Income Tax Bill, which was referred to a Select Committee during the Budget session for further scrutiny. The government will also seek Parliament's approval for having extended President's Rule in Manipur. Some of the pending bills listed by the government for passage include the Bills of Lading Bill, the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, the Coastal Shipping Bill, the Merchant Shipping Bill, and the Indian Ports Bill.

One-time settlement of pending power bills on the cards: Deputy CM
A one-time settlement scheme for pending power bills, a long-standing request of industry, is under the consideration of the State government, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said. Addressing industrialists after inaugurating the new conference hall at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) premises here, the Deputy CM said this highlighting the government's commitment to developing a pro-industry environment. 'Our doors are always open,' he said, asserting Telangana government operates as a people's government, with direct access to the Chief Minister, Ministers and senior officials. He said there are plans to develop dedicated clusters for IT and pharma industries as well as those for housing between the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and the Outer Ring Road. Citing the government's push for transformative development initiatives such as the Future City, Musi River rejuvenation and the RRR projects, he said, 'Once these are completed, Hyderabad's growth will be beyond imagination. The projects will be a game-changer and set to redefine urban development in the region.' A release from the Deputy CM's office said he also highlighted Telangana's strengths as an investment destination, its world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce, international airport and stable power supply, including plans to introduce green energy for industries. He praised FTCCI's 100-year legacy as a pillar of industrial progress and acknowledged its vital role in Hyderabad's evolution from a trading hub to a global city. 'Hyderabad is a goldmine of innovation and talent. Let us create wealth not just for a few, but for every household in the State,' he said. MP Chamala hits out at Ramchander Rao over BC remarks
Nalgonda Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has slammed BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao for his remarks on the inclusion of Muslims in the Backward Classes (BC) category in the State. He claimed that poor Muslims were first included in the BC category during the British period, adding that Muslims were part of the BCs even in BJP-ruled states. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, the Congress MP advised Mr. Ramchander Rao to gain subject knowledge before making such comments. 'Ramchander Rao lacks substance, that's why he is resorting to babbling. It would be better if he gained knowledge on the subject before commenting,' he said. Mr. Kiran Kumar also alleged that the BJP was attempting to divide people along religious and caste lines. 'I hope that at least Ramchander Rao should not do the same thing,' he said, appealing to the BJP for cooperation in the State's development. He reiterated the Congress government's commitment to implementing 42% reservations for BCs.
