Janhvi Kapoor's Hindi teacher Seema Kapoor, ex-wife of Om Puri, defends her against trolls: ‘It's childish to target someone over language'
has frequently found herself at the receiving end of criticism for her Hindi diction. Despite her parents, late legendary actress
Sridevi
and producer
Boney Kapoor
, doing everything they could to help her with the language before her debut, the trolling hasn't stopped. However, actor
Om Puri
's ex-wife,
Seema Kapoor
, who was once Janhvi's
Hindi teacher
, has come forward to defend the actress and slam the online hate as 'immature' and 'childish.'
Seema Kapoor: 'It's immature to troll someone for their language'
In a recent interview with Galatta India,
Seema
Kapoor opened up about her brief but memorable stint as Janhvi's Hindi tutor. She recalled being introduced to Sridevi and Boney Kapoor through filmmaker Rumi Jaffery. Sharing her thoughts on the actress's journey, Seema said, "I feel very happy seeing how far Janhvi has come. I played only a very small role in her career. She's a hard-working and sincere girl.
Rumi Jaffrey
is like my brother; he's a very well-known writer in the industry. He recommended my name to Boney Kapoor and Sridevi, because my Hindi is quite refined."
Seema also revealed that she had encouraged Janhvi to write more, believing it would help her express herself better. Responding to the social media trolling Janhvi has faced over the years, Seema remarked, "I think it's childish and immature to target someone over their language. It's not like I can speak French or German. Language is a form of expression; before language, we used to communicate through hand gestures, and we survived, didn't we?"

'Ghar ke bachche': Seema Kapoor refused to charge a fee for teaching Janhvi
Interestingly, Seema Kapoor didn't charge a fee for teaching Janhvi. She explained that she never saw herself as a professional tutor and teaching the young star helped her personally during a tough phase in her life.
Janhvi Gets Purple Lamborghini Surprise
"Sri ji and Boney ji asked how much I'd charge as fees, and I said, 'Ghar ke bachche…' And it's not like I'm a professional teacher. I was going through a difficult period in my own life back then, and this took my mind off my troubles," she shared.
Seema Kapoor recently released her memoir, Yoon Guzri Hai Ab Talak, which she launched at the Indian Women's Press Corps on April 17. The book offers a candid look into some of the most intimate chapters of her life.

Mahavatar Narsimha Day 2 India Box Office Hindi: Hombale's cinematic epic grows by a shocking 150 percent; Adds Rs 3.35 crore
Mahavatar Narsimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Hombale Films, after a super strong first day where it netted Rs 1.35 crore in Hindi, showed astronomical 140-150 percent growth on day 2. With Rs 3.25 - 3.45 crore net on day 2, the two day cume of the movie stands at Rs 4.70 crore. The movie has not just grown in Hindi but all the other languages that it is playing in, as well. The Day Wise Hindi Net Collections Of Mahavatar Narsimha Are As Under Mahavatar Narsimha Will Post Its Biggest Single Day Collections On 1st Sunday On Sunday, Mahavatar Narsimha is expected to register its biggest single day. Based on its trend, the day 3 collections may end up being higher than the sum of the first and the second day. The trend also suggests a sort of a breakout where Monday collections will be well higher than the opening day and also likely first Saturday. It's too early to confirm that the same will happen, but there sure are very visible indications to deduce the same. In today's day and age, if a film gets the approval of the audience, it trends spectacularly. We saw it last week with Saiyaara, which is putting up identical collections as its first weekend, in its second, and then there of course was Chhaava, which really showed the potential of a well-received religion-based historical epic. Mahavatar Narsimha Is Acting As A Living Proof That Animated Movies Can Work At The Box Office The biggest takeaway from Mahavatar Narsimha's run is the acceptance of the audience to watch animated content. Animated films are usually seen as films for children but this movie looks to break that myth. Hopefully, with the success of this movie, there will be an influx of more animated films. Hombale Films itself has a slate of 6 animated films from the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, that shall release in the next decade or so. Animated Films Should Get Mainstream Attention In India Hollywood's animated films have always got mainstream attention in their home markets, and now China's highest grossing film is also an animated film, Ne Zha 2. Japan has always had a bigger market for animes than the conventional films. It's about time that Indian audiences also jump on this bandwagon so that there can be more individual voices to tell stories using the animated mediun. One doesn't necessarily have to rely upon a hero, to make and sell their films. The story and the acceptance shall do the talking.

Divya Deshmukh devastated (Screengrabs) The first game of the FIDE Women's World Cup final between 19-year-old Divya Deshmukh and 38-year-old Grandmaster (GM) Koneru Humpy ended in a tense draw on Saturday in Batumi, Georgia. But it was the emotion on Divya's face at the end, hands covering her disappointment, that told the real story of a missed opportunity. Watch: Making her debut in a major final, Divya came in with bold intent. Playing with the white pieces, she surprised many by opening with 1.d4, a move she hadn't played all tournament. It was a clear sign of targeted preparation. For the first hour, the young International Master (IM) held a clear edge, pushing Humpy onto the back foot with sharp, aggressive moves. But as the clock ticked and pressure mounted, Divya began using significant time for key decisions. The advantage slowly began to slip away. Humpy, ever composed, showed why she's long been India's top female player. She neutralised the pressure with precise calculation and calm defence, turning the tables slowly without ever forcing the issue.
