Vinicius Jr. addresses Real Madrid contract renewal – ‘Want to make history with the team'
Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr. was the star of the show in his team's 3-0 win over RB Salzburg. The Brazilian forward scored one goal, set up another, and was deservedly named man of the match.
After the final whistle, Vinicius shared his thoughts on the game and, more importantly, spoke openly about his future at Real Madrid.

'I hope I can stay here for many years,' Vinicius said with a smile. 'I've always said this is the club of my life. I'm very happy with the coach and everyone on the staff, and I hope I can keep playing here.'
His words made it clear he has no intention of leaving any time soon, despite the many rumours that have surrounded him over the past year.
Contract extension close
When asked about his contract situation, Vinicius confirmed, 'I have a two-year contract left… until 2027,' and stressed again, 'I've always said I want to stay here my entire career and make a great history with this team.'
His commitment should put fans at ease after last year's reports of a massive offer from Saudi Arabia, which reached an astonishing €1 billion for five seasons. While that proposal ultimately led nowhere, Saudi clubs are still keeping an eye on the Brazilian star.

As things stand, a new contract between Real Madrid and Vinicius is almost complete, with only a few minor details to sort out before it becomes official.
About the match
Meanwhile, talking about the match, the Real Madrid forward seemed extremely satisfied, especially after the criticism he has faced in recent weeks.
'The match left us feeling good. We played very well in the first half, but the second half was a little weaker, but that's normal. We had to pace ourselves for the next round of 16 match, where we can't afford to let ourselves slip.'
Furthermore, the Brazil forward also spoke about Xabi Alonso's demands of high press, stating,

'It's normal. In today's football, we have to attack with 11 and defend with 11.
'I like to play inside, closer to the goal and provide assists. It's a very similar position to the year of the last Champions League. We're very compact. Understand,' he concluded.

Leeds Make Move for Out-of-Favour Juventus Midfielder
Douglas Luiz and Juventus: A Misfit Marriage Nearing Its End Tumultuous Year in Turin Douglas Luiz's Italian adventure looks set to end as abruptly and awkwardly as it began. Just a year on from his big-money move to Juventus, the Brazilian midfielder has become a peripheral figure. Once expected to be a pivot in the Turin club's midfield, Luiz now finds himself cast aside, a '100% foreign body' in a side that appears to have moved on without him. Advertisement His difficulties are not purely physical. Yes, minor injuries have hampered his rhythm, but it is the deeper issue of cultural and tactical adaptation that has left him struggling to impose himself. Igor Tudor's mass rotation against Manchester City, a 5-2 defeat, saw many squad players receive meaningful minutes. Luiz, notably, was not among them. Just 45 minutes of action in a game already lost highlighted his dwindling importance. Photo IMAGO Premier League Door Reopens What appears to be a closed chapter in Italy may yet be a new beginning in England. 'The Premier League has not forgotten his talent,' notes CalcioMercato, and Juventus may be ready to capitalise. With the summer transfer window approaching, Luiz's name is being whispered in corridors across the English footballing landscape. Advertisement His brief moment on the sidelines with Pep Guardiola sparked inevitable speculation, but Manchester City have yet to table a formal offer. Manchester United, reportedly involved in discussions regarding Jadon Sancho, might enter the fray. Yet it is Leeds United who appear to be the most realistic suitor. Contact has been made and a deal before 30 June could benefit all parties. Financial Incentive Looms Large For Juventus, the timing is everything. The club is not desperate for a sale to balance the 2024/25 books, but shifting Luiz would align with their improving finances and upcoming UEFA Financial Fair Play scrutiny. A transfer before the 30 June deadline, ideally at cost or better, would 'give a positive boost to the club's accounts,' according to the original report. There is no urgency, but there is opportunity. Juventus can recoup funds, Luiz can reignite his career, and an English club can land a player still capable of commanding matches when confident and correctly deployed. Departure Feels Inevitable There's a growing sense of inevitability about Luiz's departure. His Juventus tenure has never truly sparked. No lasting moments, no indelible performances. The talent remains, but in the wrong setting it has withered. A move back to the Premier League feels like the only viable route now. 'Douglas Luiz's future will be far from Turin' concludes CalcioMercato. Few would disagree. Our View – EPL Index This is the kind of rumour that gets the blood pumping. Douglas Luiz might not have hit the heights in Serie A, but anyone who watched him at Aston Villa knows what he brings. Technically sound, physically strong, and composed on the ball, he could be the midfield fulcrum Leeds have been craving since promotion. The fact that he's even being considered suggests Leeds mean business, and with Premier League survival now steady, it's time for smart investment. Advertisement There will be concerns. Why didn't it work at Juventus? Was it attitude, style, or something more systemic? But let's be honest, Serie A isn't always kind to Premier League exports, and Luiz thrived in England once before. He's 26 and entering his prime. If Leeds can close the deal before 30 June, it'll be a huge signal of intent. 'Luiz in white, orchestrating midfield at Elland Road,' now that's a vision supporters can rally behind. It's not done yet, but it feels like a fit. His comeback story might just begin in Yorkshire.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen sets demands for Barcelona exit
Barcelona need to reduce their wage bill in order to be able to register new signings, such as Joan Garcia, who has already joined, and Nico Williams, who is expected to make the move from Athletic Club as early as next week. And one candidate that could depart to help with this is Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. Due to the arrival of Garcia and the expected contract renewal of Wojciech Szczesny, Ter Stegen is expected to start next season as third-choice goalkeeper – despite being club captain. As such, he will have options to leave, and with the 2026 World Cup taking place next summer, he may wish to do so in order to ensure that he is Germany's starter for the tournament. Barcelona dealt blow in bid to offload Marc-Andre Ter Stegen But at this stage, Ter Stegen is very reluctant to leave, and he is said to be very angry with how things have played out in regards to his situation at Barcelona. On top of this, he has already turned down an offer from AS Monaco. However, he would entertain the possibility of departing, but as per Sport, he would only do so if he were to receive the final three years of his salary in full. Image viaAdvertisement It is clear that Barcelona will not find it easy to ensure a positive solution in this Ter Stegen saga. As one of the club's highest-paid players, his exit would be massive in terms of helping their financial problems, and also ensuring that Garcia and Williams will be registered in time for the start of the 2025-26 season kicking off in August. Barcelona are hoping that Ter Stegen's eases his demands in the coming weeks, but given his anger about the situation, that could be more hope than expectation. For now, it remains to be seen how this plays out.

Barcelona plan to finalise two new signings next week
Barcelona have been busy in the transfer market over the last few weeks, with the possibility of three signings being finalised by next week. Joan Garcia has already joined, and with a deal for Nico Williams expected to be done on the 1st or 2nd of July, that would be two in the door already. And joining them would also be Roony Bardghji. Earlier this week, it was reported that Barcelona had agreed a deal with FC Kobenhavn to sign Bardghji. It is believed that a fee of €2-3m will be paid for the Swedish winger, whose contract in Denmark is due to expire in December. Barcelona have schedule Roony Bardghi medical Barcelona appear to have beaten FC Porto in the race to sign Bardghji, who will operate between the first team and Barca Atletic during his first few months in Catalonia. And according to Fabrizio Romano, a deal should be finalised next week upon the 19-year-old completing a medical. Image via DAZN Advertisement Bardghji had been one of Europe's most promising wingers as early as 2024, but an ACL tear has stunted his development. But Barcelona still believe in his potential, and they think it can be fulfilled in Catalonia under the stewardship of Hansi Flick. Bardghji predominantly plays as a right winger, so he would be competing with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha for that spot when the time comes for him to be promoted to the first team. But there will be chances for him to impress depending on his form with Barca Atletic, who will be playing in the fourth tier of Spanish football next season. Barcelona are expected to announce Bardghji's arrival at some stage in July, but a deal will be complete next week. And given his expected role, he could make his debut during the club's pre-season tour of Asia, which kicks off in mid-July.
