Busy Swindon A-road sees long delays caused by ‘emergency repairs'
Motorists travelling along the A420 today, July 31, have been experiencing heavy traffic near Shrivenham, with delays of up to 20 minutes reported.
The AA Traffic News's interactive travel map shows queue ground to a standstill on the busy road.
The warning reads: 'Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to emergency repairs on A420 both ways at Townsend Road (Bourton tun-off). Travel time is 20 minutes.'
Although the notice does not provide more information, according to the Causeway one.network interactive map, it appears the delays are not connected to any roadworks in the area.

Rare chance to visit abandoned village opening to public next month
Drivers using the A420 have experienced delays across the last month, with a programme of works taking place last week causing delays.
Temporary traffic lights were installed at Little Coxwell on the A420 between Swindon and Faringdon shortly before 9am on Wednesday, July 23.
This caused long queues in both directions on the key route throughout Wednesday.
One motorist said: 'I was really frustrated on my commute because traffic was moving really slowly, there is frequently works along the A420.
'I know they're maintaining the facilities but it can be frustrating at rush hour.'
