The 23-year-old started at the weekend as his side defeated city rivals Melbourne Victory to win the A-League Grand Final and end the campaign on the most almighty of highs.
And now, with decisions looming on players ahead of the summer, Petrillo has given the latest on Tilio's future: "We're still negotiating whether he stays another year or goes to Europe," he told the Football Fever podcast.
"We hope he stays another year."
The player himself admitted his future remains uncertain following Saturday's showpiece final: "I feel in a really good place," he said.
"My future is obviously up in the air at the moment, so I'm unsure what is going to happen.
"It's always been about just playing well. I know when I'm playing well that people are always watching.
"I want to do everything I can to help Australia qualify for another World Cup.
"I took everything in from last camp and put myself in the position now where I feel I'm better for it. I just want to execute everything that I know that I can, and put myself in the position to hopefully be in the squad and play.
"It's been 18 months since I've actually stepped on the pitch for the national team.
"So I think it's at that time now that I put myself in a position to play well, get an opportunity to do well, and hopefully, sort of cement a spot in there."

John Stones heads list of SIX stars made available by Man City in summer clearout
Manchester City and England defender John Stones is among a number of players who could be moved on by the former Premier League champions in the summer transfer window Manchester City are prepared to sanction exits for a handful of established stars this summer including the likes of John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan as Pep Guardiola continues to reshape his playing squad. The former Premier League champions have been active both this summer and in the January transfer window after falling behind Liverpool and Arsenal in the title race last season. And while further incomings are possible, a number of exits are also expected. Guardiola is understood to want to work with a smaller squad and, as such, some big names could be on the move this summer. Among them, The Athletic say, is Stones, who has been a pivotal player for Manchester City during a period of sustained success for the club. But the England defender, 31, is said to be available for transfer this summer as City move forward into a new era. Gundogan, 34, is another household name who could be culled despite the fact he only returned to The Etihad last summer following a 12 month stint at Barcelona. The veteran midfielder joins Mateo Kovacic in being 'touted' as a potential departee with the club looking to trim their squad. Nico O'Reilly, Claudio Echeverri and Oscar Bobb are the three other players who said to be in the same boat as their team-mates, though the same report adds Bobb is unlikely to leave The Etihad this summer. It's also noted that some could leave on loan rather than permanently. O'Reilly, 20, would be a surprise sale if he were to depart after making a significant impact during the latter half of the 2024-25 campaign while playing as a makeshift left-back. Of the names listed, Stones would be the biggest departure after making over 270 appearances for City since joining the club from Everton all the way back in 2016. Despite his status as a key member of Guardiola's squad in years gone by, Stones was plagued by injuries last term and restricted to just 11 appearances in the Premier League. Abdukodir Khusanov was signed from Lens in January to add more depth to a defensive unit which had previously helped steer City to four consecutive domestic titles.

Man Utd open talks to sign £40m star after Andre Onana injury
Manchester United have opened concrete talks to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to reports in Argentina. United have long been linked with a move for Martinez, who could be available for transfer this summer due to Villa's financial situation. The Red Devils were considering signing a new goalkeeper but were reportedly not ready to pull the trigger unless they could sell current first choice Andre Onana. However, United may have been forced to change tack after Onana picked up an injury in pre-season training which could rule him out of the start of the new Premier League season. Reports in Argentina from TyC Sports suggest the club have now begun club-to-club talks with Villa over a deal for the World Cup winner. The report adds that Ruben Amorim sees the transfer as a 'priority', with United the most advanced of any clubs negotiating a deal for Martinez. The 32-year-old is said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford despite their woeful campaign last year, but has been coy when previously asked about his future. 'My future? I don't know, I come here to play for the national team, and that's the only thing that matters to me right now,' he said in June. 'Do I want to move to a new club? The transfer window just opened, so there's still a long way to go.' More Trending A fee of around £40-45million could be required to prise Martinez away from Villa, with Chelsea another club that were reportedly given the chance to sign the Argentine earlier in the window. Elsewhere, United are still looking to wrap up a deal for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo to provide more attacking reinforcements following the singing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Bees are said to be holding out for a £65m fee, but United are yet to return with a third bid after their first two were rejected. Such a delay in the deal is said to have frustrated Mbeumo, who has clearly indicated he would like to move to United this summer. For more stories like this, check our sport page.
