Private jet instead of EasyJet: Hamilton gives Colapinto a lift

Alpine driver Franco Colapinto has said he had the experience of a lifetime when he swapped a recent flight on a lowcost carrier for a place in the private jet of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Colapinto told reporters in Spielberg ahead of Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix that Hamilton offered a place aboard his plane after the June 1 Spanish Grand Prix in the drivers' Whatsapp group.

He said that Hamilton asked if anyone was flying to London, that he had space on his plane, and "invited me to go" after he said he was also booked to London - on EasyJet.
Giving other drivers a lift on a plane is not uncommon in F1 but it was a new and unique experience for the 22-year-old Argentine Colapinto.
'Lewis is a great guy. I had the best flight of my life with him. It was very special, very unique. I was very, very impressed by him," Colapinto said.
Colapinto drove for nine races for Williams last year in his F1 debut and has now replaced Jack Doohan at Alpine, where the Austrian race will be his fifth after hje started the season as their reserve driver.

"To complete the half-marathons, I split my week into 13 runs, with three on Monday and Wednesday, two on Tuesday and Thursday, and then just one half-marathon for the remaining three days," he said. Even through blisters, trench foot and fatigue, he said he is undeterred. "Some days I did not feel like doing it, but you need to do it," he said. "It's one of the hardest parts for me, but I pushed myself." His nutrition strategy is as disciplined as his training. "I don't really eat before I run - I don't like feeling full while I'm getting the miles in," he said. "I stick to a lot of fruit really, mainly bananas. For a half-marathon, I run on an empty stomach, maybe just a banana." At night, he said he fuels up on meat and fish. "It all comes from belief." "You won't get a stitch, and it won't stay in the stomach, and you can go at a faster pace," he added. Molineaux's passion for self-discipline and mental resilience is central to his philosophy. "What I would do is do one half-marathon in about two hours, have five minutes rest and then get onto the next one," he said. "You don't know how the body will react or get a second wind. Chelsea have agreed an undisclosed fee to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund as they edge closer to completing his transfer.
