Jayden Daniels (Rd 1, 2) 'The number one thing for me was his consistency…The amount of work each week to get back to that pinnacle…for him to come back each and every week and trust the process was impressive.'
Jer'Zhan Newton (Rd 2, 36) 'At times he was physically outmatched…I am excited to see him in year two with a full offseason…I do think you see the work ethic, the physical play.'
Mike Sainristil (Rd 2, 50) 'What Sainristil did this year can't be overstated…The flexibility he brought to the defense…he embodies what it means to be a Commander…he's a special football player.'
Ben Sinnott (Rd 2, 53) 'You see the athlete, the physicality, the want-to…he is not the underneath route running winner that Zach Ertz is…at times he had a lack of awareness in the run game.'
Brandon Coleman (Rd 3, 67) 'He probably exceeded expectations playing tackle…he has moved from guard to tackle at TCU…he's a good athlete…He is for sure a starting NFL offensive lineman.'
Luke McCaffrey (Rd 3, 100) 'He is not yet a great separator; only played receiver two years previously…he competes, he's tough…he's a bigger body guy…what is his role next year?'
Jordan Magee (Rd 5, 139) 'He's got that competitive dog…was injured in preseason then again in season…I'm excited for him to get healthy and play…
Dominique Hampton (Rd 5, 161) 'was learning a new position, being converted from safety down to linebacker…might not ever play in the NFL..
Javontae Jean-Baptiste (Rd 7, 222) 'like his length, play strength…for a 7th round pick to be in the mix for playing time next year that is a good thing…he's a nice find (at 222).
Tyler Owens (UFA) 'A special teams maniac…that may be how he makes his NFL money'
Colson Yankoff (UFA) 'Another maniac, fast, big, strong…really covered kicks well… Yankoff and Owens have roles for next year'

Jerry Rice thinks the 49ers changed too much this offseason
One of the greatest 49ers of all time thinks the 2025 version of the team may struggle with a roster that was overhauled too much. Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice says he sees a team in flux when he looks at what the 49ers have ahead of them. Advertisement 'I just feel like we added on too many pieces. The reason why I say that is these guys are young guys,' Rice told Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News. 'Super Bowl 60 is going to be here in San Francisco [at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara]. I would have preferred to sort of leave everything like last year, add on to that, and have a chance for this coming year.' Rice thinks the 49ers may be relying on too much youth. 'A lot of young guys. Now, can Kyle Shanahan pull it together and can these guys jell? We have to wait and see,' Rice said. 'But there's this big question mark if it's going to work.'I'm always going to go Niners no matter what. But we're bringing in so many young players. It's going to take a while for that team to jell. If it doesn't happen this year, then maybe the next couple of years.'

Ranking the starting quarterbacks in the AFC North
Make no mistake, if you want to win in the NFL, you need great quarterback play. Every year, as teams narrow themselves down in the playoffs, it is typically the team that is playing the best at the quarterback postiion that comes out on top. Quarterback has been a problem for the Pittsburgh Steelers ever since Ben Roethlisberger retired and 2025 marks the fourth straight season that Pittsburgh will have a new starting quarterback. This season, it is veteran and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers had to take a big swing because the quarterbacks in the AFC North are among the very best in the NFL. Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens At this point, if you are still criticizing Lamar Jackson, you probably just wish he were your starting quarterback. Jackson's mobility and athleticism help give him the nod on this list as he's practically impossible to account for properly on every play. Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals In terms of arm talent and traditional quarterback skills, Joe Burrow is top five in the NFL. The Bengals' offense is loaded, but this does not diminish Burrow's high football IQ and decision-making. Advertisement Aaron Rodgers - Pittsburgh Steelers Rodgers might not be quite as he good as he was in his prime but he showed last year on an awful Jets team that he can still sling it around. Any drop in physical tools is mitigated but Rodgers' experience. Joe Flacco - Cleveland Browns You want to swap out Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders and this ranking doesn't change. Ranking the offensive positional units in the AFC North
The AFC North is once again shaping up to be one of the best divisions in the NFL. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are chasing the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, while the Cleveland Browns seem to be content just holding up the bottom of the division. This has everything to do with the offenses in the division.
