No magic fix: Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Zoë Wanamaker banned from driving
Watson, 35, who played Hermione Granger, the friend of boy wizard Potter in the hugely popular movie franchise, was banned for driving at 38 miles (61 km) an hour in a 30-mile zone in southeastern Banbury last July.
Zoë Wanamaker, 76, who played Quidditch teacher Madame Hooch in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, was banned for six months for her offence.

She had been caught driving at 46 miles an hour in a 40-mile zone of the M4 motorway in southeastern Berkshire last August.
The cases were dealt with separately by a lower magistrates' court in the town of High Wycombe.
Neither of the stars attended the hearings, at which they were each fined £1 044 (approximately R24 900).
Watson, who was stopped while driving her blue Audi, has been studying at Oxford University. Her lawyer told the court that although she was a student, 'she is in a position to pay the fine'.

Man, 47, taken to hospital after stabbing near luxury Mayfair hotel
A 47-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing near a luxury hotel in Mayfair. The incident happened in Brook's Mews near Claridge's hotel at 7.55am today (July 31). Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man who had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as non life threatening. No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue. Detective Chief Inspector Anne Linton, from the Central West Command Unit said: 'Police were called at 7.55am on Thursday, 31 July to reports of a stabbing on Brook's Mews, W1K. 'A man aged 47 was treated by the London Ambulance Service for stab wounds and was taken to hospital. "His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. 'An investigation has been launched and a crime scene is currently in place. 'There have been no arrests at this stage. 'We'd like to reassure the public that officers are carrying out a fast-paced and thorough investigation, and would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.' 'Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or online quoting CAD 1377/31JULY. "Or you can remain anonymous and call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.'

Nightclub 'argument' turns into violence as police storm city centre street
Police descended after a nightclub 'fight' turned into violence on a city centre street. Footage circulating on social media showed at least four Greater Manchester Police cars on flashing lights stopped on Whitworth Street West in the early hours of this morning (July 31). A group of people could be seen gathered outside, including a number of men seen speaking with GMP officers. The force says a 25-year-old man went on to be arrested on suspicion of common assault. A spokesperson for MN1 told the Manchester Evening News that 'no arrests' took place at the venue, but said one man had been 'ejected' by officers following a 'heated argument'. Other individuals then got involved in an argument outside, the nightclub says. The spokesperson said: "No arrests were made only one male was made to leave the area by police after being ejected from the premises after a heated argument inside the premises. "MN1 have a zero tolerance to any kind of aggressive behaviour. "Subsequently several males proceeded to argue outside the premises and police were called to ensure no beach of the peace [was] committed and [to] reduce any disturbances caused to our neighbours." It is officially monsoon season, so it's no wonder why Broadway star and RuPaul's Drag Race alum Jinkx Monsoon is unleashing a deluge on Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. In a new clip from her upcoming interview with Ziwe, Monsoon answers a tongue-in-cheek question about whether or not Rowling would 'make a good Roxy Hart in Chicago' by pointing out why she feels the author's transphobic comments over the years feel deeply hypocritical. In an FAQ on Galbraith's website, Rowling says that she writes under a male nom de plume simply because she 'wanted to take my writing persona as far away as possible from me.' Rowling has made headlines over the last few years for her transphobic comments online, and for actively campaigning against reformational laws in the U.K. that would allow transgender people to change their legal gender. When the U.K. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the legal definition of a woman only applied to those whose biological sex was female, Rowling posted a controversial photo of herself drinking a cocktail and smoking a cigar in celebration.
