Alice Cooper says Ozzy Osbourne was ‘unmatched showman and cultural icon'
Posting on Instagram, following a performance in Cardiff dedicated to the late singer, Cooper said: 'The whole world is mourning Ozzy tonight.
'Over his long career, he earned immense respect among his peers and from fans around the world as an unmatched showman and cultural icon.
'I always saw Ozzy as a cross between the prince of darkness, which is the persona his fans saw, and the court jester. That was the side that his family and friends saw.
'He was and will continue to be a rock and roll legend. Rock and Roll is a family and a fraternity. When we lose one of our own, it bleeds. I wish I would have gotten to know my brother Ozzy better.
'A titanic boulder has crashed, but rock will roll on.'
Also paying tribute to the late singer was Kermit the Frog, who worked with Osbourne on the album Kermit: Unpigged.

The statement, shared on The Muppets Instagram account, said: 'No-one rocked harder than the great Ozzy Osbourne.
'We loved working with him on our album Kermit: Unpigged. He recorded Born To Be Wild with Miss Piggy – the perfect song for both of them!
'Every time we bumped into Ozzy over the years, he made us feel just as cool as he was.
'We loved having a friend like Ozzy Osbourne and we feel so lucky to have known him, worked with him and experienced his music for so many decades.'
Sir Elton John remembered Osbourne as a 'huge trailblazer' who 'secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods'.
Writing on Instagram, Sir Elton said: 'He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. Elton xx.'

The Rolling Stones' Wood also paid tribute after joining Osbourne at Black Sabbath's last gig at Villa Park, Birmingham, earlier this month.
He posted on X: 'I am so very sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne.
'What a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham.'
Singer Yungblud, who sang Black Sabbath's Changes at the Back To The Beginning farewell concert on July 5, said he was 'heartbroken' by the news and called Osbourne 'the greatest of all time'.
'I didn't think you would leave so soon, the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room,' he wrote in a social media post.
Rock band Motorhead said they had lost a 'dear friend' in a post that recalled the band's late vocalist Lemmy's friendship with Osbourne.
The message read: 'We lost our dear friend today. Ozzy was a pioneer, a guiding force for all in hard rock and metal, and a great guy too.
'Lemmy and Ozzy were brothers in arms who enjoyed many adventures together, and his loss is seismic. RIP Ozzy, we will always love and celebrate you… '
AC/DC posted that Osbourne's death was a 'great loss to all that loved him', with Metallica members calling him an 'icon' and 'mentor' while sharing images from photographers Ross Halfin and Noah Abrams.
'He taught us how to play in the big leagues while at the same time being warm, welcoming, engaging, and all around brilliant,' they wrote on Instagram.
Among the other stars paying tribute were former footballer Sir David Beckham, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Van Halen's Sammy Hagar, Jon Bon Jovi, singer Donny Osmond, Queen guitarist Sir Brian May and US movie star Adam Sandler, who said he felt 'so happy' that he was able to meet Osbourne.
Foo Fighters said in a social media post: 'Rock and Roll would not be as loud or as fun' without Osbourne, while Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant wrote he had 'truly changed the planet of rock'.
Kiss bassist Gene Simmons told NBC News that behind the outgoing stage persona was a 'loving father' and 'dedicated husband'.
'There was never an Ozzy before Ozzy,' he said.
Sir Brian said Osbourne's final concert earlier in the month 'was a glorious way to say goodbye' to the heavy metal vocalist who died on July 22 at the age of 76.
Actor Jason Momoa shared a photo of himself alongside Osbourne and his wife Sharon to Instagram, writing: 'Love you @ozzyosbourne All my aloha @sharonosbourne and ohana. So grateful.'
Aston Villa, Osbourne's home-town football club, said it was 'saddened' to learn of the star's passing.
'Growing up in Aston, not far from Villa Park, Ozzy always held a special connection to the club and the community he came from,' the club said.

The legendary heavy metal rocker, who died aged 76 on July 22, was buried by the lake in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire mansion following a private church service. This followed a huge public outpouring of love and mourning from the crowd of thousands that gathered in Ozzy's home city of Birmingham for an emotional funeral procession through its streets the previous day, just weeks after his final ever show there, at Villa Park. Reality show star Kelly, 40, had photographed a picture of a purple funeral wreath for Ozzy, by the lake, which simply – and appropriately – read: 'Ozzy F***ing Osbourne'. It stood proud among the rolling grassy grounds by the peaceful-looking lake, reflected in its waters. According to The Sun, 110 of the Black Sabbath star's closest friends and family travelled to join his wife Sharon, 72, and children Kelly, Jack, 39, Aimee, 41, and Louis, 50 – Ozzy's son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley – at the private service. Thrill-seeker to attempt to ride 120 rollercoasters in UK in just over two weeks
A thrill-seeking man is to begin an attempt to ride every rollercoaster in the UK in little over two weeks. Dean Stokes, 36, believes he will become the first person to achieve the feat if he can succeed in riding 120 coasters across 32 theme parks in 16 days, starting in Brighton and ending at Thorpe Park. Mr Stokes worked for five years at Google before leaving the corporate ladder to set up his own business delivering technology training, having grown tired of being unable to try new things. The former UK head of Google for Education decided to set up his own YouTube channel as part of his new work and has already seen his videos about his planned adventure viewed hundreds of thousands of times across social media platforms. Mr Stokes, from Brighton, in East Sussex, told his former Google colleague Simon Fasolo, 44, about his plan to travel the UK in pursuit of the aim. And Mr Fasolo, from Perth, Australia, decided it would be a great way to explore the country – despite hating rollercoasters himself and refusing to join his friend on the rides. The two will begin at Brighton Palace Pier, home to the Crazy Mouse and Turbo rollercoasters, and, according to the route map on the website, hope to have conquered four parks and eight rides in total by the end of the first day. Dean's challenge will end at Thorpe Park. / Credit: PA Mr Stokes said: 'I've ridden over 100 rollercoasters in around 25 different theme parks across 10 different countries. 'But I still haven't actually ridden loads of rollercoasters in the UK, so I just thought, why not? 'One of the reasons I left the corporate world was to have a bit more variety in the work that I do and so starting the YouTube channel on the tech side was part of that. 'And I just thought, if I was going to make a channel that was completely different to that, what would it be? And it would probably be rollercoasters and theme parks because I'm a big fan. 'I've included every rollercoaster that's classed as a thrill or extreme rollercoaster, to avoid family and children's rides. But we plan to do all of them consecutively. 'As far as I know, I think I'll be the first person to do it – the only person mad enough to do it.' Mr Stokes said he is open to ideas or suggestions from his followers on social media of tasks within the challenge. The duo have booked around half of the hotels, and plan to travel in a hire car, but delays and unforeseen issues could lead to a stressful journey. 'There's this whole community out there that loves theme parks, whether they're proper enthusiasts or just people that like going in the summer with their family, and they are now really excited to follow my progress.' He added: 'Someone commented and said it is the UK theme park enthusiast's dream. It might be difficult, so I'll have to decide whether it feels like a dream at the end of it or not. There are theme parks the two plan to visit across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and they are planning on driving to Dublin for an extra set of rides in the Republic of Ireland. Mr Stokes is excited to support many of the amusement parks which are run as independent businesses, as well as visiting historic seaside resorts, such as Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, which is over a hundred years old. He has asked for permission to film for his YouTube, TikTok and Facebook, and a number of the theme parks have even offered him free tickets. Mr Stokes said: 'A lot of the parks have come back to me and are really on board with the whole idea. 'I need the good summer weather to continue, as I've only packed shorts and T-shirts, and one jacket. But if it all goes to plan, it should be a great trip 'And I'm already looking for inspiration for my next challenge once it's complete – I think the natural next step would be to choose another country and do the same. 'Germany has loads of world world-class theme parks, so we could go and do it there. 'But maybe it could be a country that I've never been to. Kelly Osbourne breaks silence after dad Ozzy's funeral in heartfelt tribute
The Black Sabbath legend's death drew condolences from stars like Sir Rod Stewart, Noel Gallagher and Sir Elton John Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence following her dad Ozzy's funeral in a heartfelt tribute to the rock icon online. The 40-year-old daughter of the Black Sabbath legend took to Instagram on Friday, August 1 with a moving post. Ozzy was laid to rest next to the lake in his Buckinghamshire home on Thursday. The moving funeral service beforehand, on Wednesday, saw 110 of Ozzy's loved ones join his wife Sharon and his children Jack, 39, Kelly, 40, Aimee, 41, and Louis, 50, who is Ozzy's son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley. Kelly has now posted online for the first time since her father's send-off, sharing a picture of a wreath reading 'Ozzy F***ing Osbourne' placed by the bank of the water. She put no text or caption on the photo, instead leaving it as is. The 76-year-old, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder, in 2019, died on Tuesday, July 22 surrounded by his close family, as they released a statement confirming the singer had passed. Before his death, Kelly had honoured her dad in a string of emotional posts. In one video, the singer could be seen sitting around the kitchen table with family just two days before he passed away. In another, she shared the lyrics to Changes - the Black Sabbath track that she and Ozzy, who had also battled with chronic nerve pain in the last years of his life, famously re-recorded together in 2003. Thousands of fans also paid tribute at Ozzy's funeral procession through Birmingham on Wednesday. In recent years, Ozzy had spoken openly about his desire to return to the UK, saying he was "desperate to come home." Sharon, wearing Ozzy's ring on a chain around her neck, walked behind his cortege alongside family including Kelly, who wore round sunglasses in a subtle nod to her dad's infamous look. The hearse carrying his coffin began its route at his former childhood home in Aston, before making its way to the city centre. The procession made a stop at the Black Sabbath Bench and bridge, where fans gathered in the area to pay their final respects. Fans chanted"Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy" as the hearse arrived, and comforted an emotional Sharon as she got out of the funeral car to lay flowers on the bridge.
