The 20-year-old second-year B. Ed student of Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College, Balasore had accused the Head of Education Department, Samira Kumar Sahu of sexually harassing her.
She set herself on fire on Saturday on the college campus over alleged inaction against the professor and suffered 95 per cent burns.
The woman was first admitted to the Balasore district hospital and then shifted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday announced ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh for the family of the student.
Majhi directed officers concerned to conduct a proper investigation into the incident so that all guilty are punished in accordance with the law, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Several outlets have faced fines, warnings, or closures as part of the regulatory body's efforts to ensure food safety and public health. Under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, violators can face penalties ranging from fines of up to Rs 5 lakh to imprisonment in cases involving unsafe or adulterated food. Repeat offenders may face cancellation of licenses and prosecution under relevant provisions of the law. Illegal arms factory busted in Amroha, 7 held
Bijnor: Amroha police, along with Special Operations Group (SOG) and surveillance unit, raided an abandoned gym in Bawankhedi village and uncovered an illegal arms manufacturing unit, said police on Tuesday. Seven people were arrested, including key suspects Shadab Ali and Sumit Kumar of Hasanpur. Acting on a tip-off on Monday night, the police found weapons being made beneath solar panels on the gym's roof. Recovered items included a 0.32 bore revolver, five 0.315 bore pistols, a 12-bore pistol, an unfinished firearm, 63 live cartridges, and tools used for manufacturing. SP Amit Kumar Anand said that five others, including -- Deepak Kumar, Vansh Kumar, Nagendra Singh, and Gaurav -- were also held for allegedly purchasing weapons for Rs 7,000 and reselling them for up to Rs 15,000. A case has been registered against the accused under the Arms Act, and they have been jailed under judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full network, said police.

Thiruvathukkal double murder: Police file chargesheet
Kottayam: Police on Wednesday filed the chargesheet in the Thiruvathukkal double murder case in which a couple was killed by an Assam native. The chargesheet, submitted before the magistrate court within three months of the incident, charged Amit Urang with the murders. Businessman T K Vijayakumar, 65, who owned Indraprastham Auditorium in the town, and his wife Meera Vijayakumar, 62, were found murdered in their palatial house on April 22. The police probe found Urang to have committed the twin murders. Urang was arrested and is currently in the district jail. The chargesheet said that the accused, who was Vijayakumar's staff earlier, murdered the couple as revenge for putting him behind bars in a financial fraud case. Urang used Vijayakumar's phone and swindled Rs 2.79 crore through online transactions last Sept. Later, based on Vijayakumar's complaint, Urang was arrested and remanded. Following the arrest, Urang's relationship with his wife was affected. He was released from jail in the beginning of April, after serving over five months. On the day of the murders, Urang got into the house and first killed Vijayakumar and then Meera.
